Abstract: Distribution evaluation of regional lung ventilation is obtained by placing a radionuclide and an array of scintillation detectors on opposite sides of a subject from evaluation units. Each of the signals from evaluation units of the detectors is stored in a memory. The signals are compared in a comparison block, and the comparison is recorded by a recorder.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a maize sheller having at least one drum and counter drum (concave). The counter drum has an adjustable part and a non-adjustable part. The maize sheller according to the invention possesses a regulating mechanism for regulating clearance between the drum and the adjustable part of the counter drum. The use of a counter drum of such a construction economizes a significant amount of metal and enhances the screening capacity and the productivity of the entire device. The regulation of the outlet aperture within a comparatively wide range permits the use of the maize sheller for shelling corn cobs of different sizes and with different moisture content without causing damage to the grain. In case of penetration of foreign matter into the shelling apparatus, the drum and the counter drum are protected against deformation by a safety sector which is automatically opened.

Abstract: A centerless turning machine for rods. The machine includes a cutter-head mounted at the front end of a rotating hollow shaft, and further includes a plurality of advancing rollers of an infeed device operatively mounted at the inlet end of the turning machine. The turning machine further includes a front guide mechanism and a rear guide mechanism, respectively mounted on opposite sides of the cutter head, and also includes a clamping carriage which is mounted on the outlet side of the turning machine. The rear guide mechanism takes the form of a tubular support which is provided with a flange mounted in the machine housing and which extends into the rotating hollow shaft. The rear guide mechanism has, at its free end, which protrudes into the hollow shaft, three individually spring biased guide elements for the rod. The springs for each individual guide element form a first resilient abutment for each guide element. The movements of the three guide elements are synchronized by a rotatable ring.

Abstract: A combustion chamber, designed for compression ignition internal combustion engines, solves the problem of distribution and whirling of fuel mixture in the combustion chamber of the engine and from this the resulting easier ignition of fuel mixture, optimum increase in the combustion pressures with optimum layout of the valve gear and the intake and exhaust channels in a simplified design of the cylinder head enabled by the larger eccentricity of the injection jet. A rotary combustion chamber is formed in the piston head, the bottom of the chamber formed by a rotary peripheral surface and rotary internal surface with a circular barrier. Ratios between the depth of the rotary peripheral surface and the depth of the top of the barrier, the largest diameter of the rotary internal surface and the largest diameter of the rotary peripheral surface, and the depth of both rotary surfaces are defined in specific ranges.

Abstract: The invention discloses an improved method, and apparatus for utilizing the method, for dewatering and drying a liquid/solid slurry. Unlike the prior known method of consecutive material thickening, filtering, crushing and then subsequent drying achieved with an appropriate for each process apparatus, in the present invention all these processes are achieved with only one apparatus.The apparatus for the implementation of this method comprises consecutively connected filter press, feeding-compressing container with pressure feed chamber and an inbuilt heat exchanger and vacuum collector with a vacuum pump. The advantages of using this apparatus and method are its compactness, limited space required, low energy consumption, environmental cleanliness and the fact that the separated liquid phase can be used as a heat carrier for industrial and municipal needs. In addition, the disclosed process if fully automated.

Abstract: An arrangement for protecting the slides of a machine tool in general and a creep feed grinding machine in particular against the corrosive and heat effects of the coolant medium for the machine. The machine includes two servo-motor driven slides which are movably mounted on a first base. A second slide is normally movably mounted on top of a first slide of the two slides. A first bushing is mounted in the second slide and a support column is reciprocally, vertically mounted in the first bushing. A machine tool, such as a motor-driven grinding wheel, is mounted on the first column. A second base is rigidly mounted on the first base. A bearing is mounted in the second base and a support shaft carrying a workpiece table is rotatably mounted about a vertical axis in the bearing. The second base has an opening and the support column extends through this opening. The interior diameter of the opening is larger than the exterior diameter of the support column.

Abstract: A gas-air mixer for internal combustion engines having an inlet and an outlet diffusor and being mounted in a collar member which forms a cyclindrical surface between them. Feeding channels are disposed between the inlet and outlet diffusors which terminate at the external side of the diffusors in a concentrically shaped annular channel. Both diffusors are constructed as separate bushings. The outlet diffusor is fixedly mounted in the collar and the inlet diffusor is movably mounted in the collar, around its axis by means of a control lever. The diffusors are seated end face to end face and an outer cylindrical surface mutually defined by them through which have been cut radial slots form feeding channels for gas fuel. By turning of said diffusors with respect to each other the cross-section of the feeding channels is adjusted depending on the angle of rotation of the inlet diffusor around its axis different operating regimes of the engine.

Abstract: The invention relates to textile machine control. The run of spinning units is controlled by two busses, a two-way bus, and a reserve one-way bus, the latter being activated, as a rule, by a central electronic system, and possibly, though less often, by the operator. A suitable arrangement of the circuits on the criterion of whether they belong to the two-way bus or to the one-way one, facilitates troubleshooting and permits shorter repair time on vast systems comprising a plurality of work stations of the textile machine.The invention can be used on various types of spinning machines where a predetermined length of wound yarn is required.

Abstract: The antihypoxic drug with verebroprotective and hepatoprotective action contains piracetam and orotic acid or their pharmaceutically tolerable salts in a weight ratio of from 500:1 to 1:2. This combined drug is administered for the treatment of acute and chronic diseases and exogenic intoxications in daily doses respectively from 0.150 to 50 g and from 0.030 to 0.30 g of both components. The synergistic effect of the combination is shown in the antihypoxic action as confirmed by clinical data. The drug can be administered orally or parenterally. The oral therapy comprises tablets, capsules, pills, solutions and emulsions and is applied in slight forms of exogenic intoxications, whereas the parenterally therapy is suitable in case of severe diseases and acute exogenic intoxications leading to complex injuries of the organism.

Abstract: A device for removing an incorrectly inserted weft on a jet loom includes nozzles, a scissor locking device, and a suction device operated in response to signals from sensors sensing the position of the weft. The incorrectly inserted weft picking length is removed in the shape of an evolving loop in the direction towards the shed end side by a pull exerted on the whole subsequent picking length of the weft.

Abstract: A connector for assembly of sieve elements consists of a fastener, a securing pin and a mounting element, The fastener is inserted in aligned apertures of the sieve element and the mounting element. A securing pin is inserted into an axial bore of the fastener to secure the connection. The fastener has an upper and a lower collar. Membranes extend longitudinally along the fastener body and are broken out when the securing pin is inserted to the axial bore of the fastener.

Abstract: A device is used for casing inner books in book covers. The device reciprocates in a vertical direction synchronously with an inner book conveyor. A feed roll system is provided for enclosing the inner book in the book cover. A clamping mechanism is provided for receiving and positioning the cover spine. A pair of alignment elements form part of the clamping mechanism and are operatively connected to an actuating device so as to move from first lateral positions relative to the plane of travel of the inner book towards the book cover, thereby centering the spine of the book cover relative to the plane of travel of the inner book and aligning it in a direction normal to the plane of travel of the inner book. Hold-down elements are provided for holding the book cover against a support surface during centering and alignment.

Abstract: The object of the invention is to provide a medicament for the therapy of diarrheal diseases, especially of nonspecific character, which medicament is designed for oral application and contains, as active component, (.+-.)-trans-2(1-pyrrolidinyl) cyclohexylester of 3-(n)-pentyloxycarbanilic acid, or a salt of said ester with a pharmaceutically acceptable acid, and, optionally a physiologically harmless vehicle. The active component has also other therapeutical effects such as antiulcerose, spasmolytic and locally anaesthetic ones.

Abstract: An associative main store, having application in computing technology and automation, avoids disadvantages of well-known associative main stores which have a great number of external outputs due to the presence of inputs to address every memory cell, and which require that the addresses be stored in an extra external device. The invention is able to increase the digits of the associative conditions facilitating operation by the user and providing extended functional possibilities.

Abstract: A thread cutting and holding device in double-cylinder circular knitting machine has a movable cutting plate, stationary cutting blade and pressing finger. Stationary and movable plates are arranged between the cutting plate and the pressing finger. Both movable plates are controlled by one lever. The stationary holding plate is arranged between the movable plates and is provided at its operative end with a V-shaped cutout, in which the threads are collected and held be the movable holding plate. The movable holding plate is for this reason provided with a side cutout with transverse holding edge.

Abstract: Column for liquid chromatography contains a glass tube for sorbent packing closed with simple column seals and inserted into a jacket made of metal or plastic material. The jacket transfers axial forces exerted on the column seals by liquid pressure action by means of sockets. It secures the tightness of the column, enables the connection of the column to a chromatographic system, and has a protective function at the same time. The columns can be coupled in series by means of doubled sockets.

Abstract: Method of preparing a weft and its removal from an open shed in jet weaving machines automates the preparatory operation of weft upon finding a weaving fault. This is achieved by performing both the preparation and the withdrawal of the weft in the course of the first quadrant of the jet weaving machine revolution. The method includes the step of supplying a further unseparated weft length, forming a loop between the unseparated weft length in the open shed while the loop elongates due to the action of an inserting medium until the loop face emerges from the shed on the shed outlet side and removing the weft from the shed by a weft withdrawing device.

Abstract: A method for electric refining of lead with alternating current in which the basic stage of the process is preceded by two stages, a preparatory stage and an initial stage. The preparatory stage involves pretreatment of the electrode surfaces by means of alternating current of equal width and amplitude of the forward and reverse pulses. During the initial stage there is effected an electric refining with alternating current having reduced current density.A circuit for electric refining of lead with alternating current has two controllable current rectifiers, each of which is connected to a separate group of electrolytic baths. The groups of electrolytic baths and the controllable current rectifiers are connected in series and opposite to one another.
