  • Patent number: 4930288
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved sealing head for sealing a cover made of a foil material onto a packaging container, in particular a plastic cup. The sealing operation is carried out by means of a heatable sealing head. This sealing head includes an insulating body which provides for the compensation of form and position deviation between the sealing head and the plastic cups which are to be sealed. This insulating body simultaneously provides for the thermal insulation between the sealing head, on the one hand, and the drive arrangement, on the other hand. Thereby a flaw-free sealing is achieved and any down-times due to malfunctioning of the arrangement are substantially reduced.

  • Patent number: 4920888
Abstract: A penetrator shell has at least a front and a rear high-density core element each having a front face and a rear and lying in a stack extending along an axis with the front face of the rear element engaging the rear face of the front element. The rear face of the front element and front face of the rear element are substantially complementary, part-spherical, and centered on the axis. Thus, the front element can rock or pivot on the rear element while remaining in contact with the front face thereof. A high-density main penetrator body is engaged against and extends axially rearward away from the rear face of the rear element. A casing sleeve is engaged snugly around the core elements and has a front end generally at the front element and a rear end secured to the main penetrator body. An aerodynamic tip is secured to and extends axially forward from the front end of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4918958
Abstract: The invention relates to a bending apparatus for wires having a cross section which varies according to their lengths, and comprising two cylindrical sections and an interleaved conical section. The wire is bent by means of three rollers. The bending roller is mounted on a carriage and determines the bending degree imparted to the fed wire. The wire is bent despite its variable diameter so that it is deposited with a regular curvature on the reception plate. To this effect, the curvature of the conical section is changed between the correct curvature of the thinner cylindrical section of the wire and that of the thicker cylindrical section of the wire. It only requires a simple switching at an appropriate time to obtain a sire bobbin which may be deposited on the reception plate. The appropriate switching time is situated between 20% and 60%, but preferably between 30% and 40%, and is calculated from the beginning of the wire diameter increase.

  • Patent number: 4915208
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and arrangement for exchanging cellular members which are provided with container receiving openings and form part of a filling machine. The cellular members are successively removed from the filling machine and cellular members with an alternate format for receiving containers are essentially simultaneously inserted into the filling machine. This operation is carried out in that an exchange arrangement receives the first formatted cellular members at a first receiving station of a magazine and dispenses alternately formatted cellular members at a second working station of the machine is disposed at a distance from the afore-mentioned receiving station. In this manner it is possible to carry out a cellular member exchange in a very rapid manner and by a very simple process and arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4905952
Abstract: An improved channel beam clamp and locking skirt assembly for a suspended ceiling grid system. The channel beam clamp has a recess for receiving a channel of the ceiling grid system. The channel beam clamp is suspended from the channel in an essentially vertical plane. The channel beam clamp has a plurality of prongs extending from the lower end thereof. Each of these groups has an inwardly curved portion at its lower end which bulge outwardly from the vertical plane so that a pair of opposite prongs of the plurality of prongs define a receiving space therebetween for receiving a bulb of a ceiling grid member of the ceiling grid system. The assembly includes an inverted essentially U-shaped locking skirt which has a pair of legs depending from a slotted horizontal base. The lower end of the channel beam clamp with its plurality of prongs is slid through the slot and the channel beam clamp is slid upwardly. The plurality of prongs can again spread apart after they have passed through the slot.
