Abstract: A device for use with an articulator in the construction of artificial dentures, comprising a base adapted to be placed on the articulator, a tabletop on the base, the height of which is adjustable; and a removable template adapted to be pivotably mounted to a cradle provided in said tabletop. A knife edge unit with spaced apart knife edges, and a spear box and pointer adapted to be raised or lowered by means of a ramp and associated adjustment screw is removably attached to said base in a manner such that said spear box is guided for movement along said ramp by threaded means in simultaneously both upward and forward directions, and the pointer being adapted to retain in place thereon an upper rim impression and tray prior to its being mounted to an upper mounting ring of the articulator.
Abstract: Set-up data for a photo-electric scanner are prepared in the form of graphs using an X-Y recorder or the like for the convenience of storage, modification and recognition. Such a method according to this invention is conveniently and accurately carried out through the use of the apparatus according to this invention which can read the graphs using an image sensor and convert them into sets of digital values so as to be accessible from the photo-electric scanner.
Abstract: A feeler gage mounting system comprising a case having a pair of opposed walls, a pin having an elongated pin body having opposed first and second ends, the first end being non-rotatably affixed to one of the walls of the case. The second end of the pin is connected to the other case wall. A plurality of feeler gage blade members are removably rotatably connected at two circular holes to the pin body. The pin body forms a key and the blade members form keyway sheets leading to the circular holes, the keyway slots being adapted to receive the pin body so that the blade members can be mounted onto or removed from the pin body at a particular angle at which the key of the pin body is positioned.
Abstract: An improved baling press with a vertical operating direction and with a press plate guided within a press case by means of rollers and cooperating coordinated guides, and with the press plate being solidly connected to spindle nuts, which in each case are crossed through by a driven press spindle; the baling press permitting the guiding of the press plate of the press case only along one wall thereof, while the other walls with the exception of the wall disposed above or below the drive are available for other use, such as corresponding feed openings. Thus, the guiding of the press plate of the press case is only along one wall of the press case, preferably the rear wall thereof.
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner bag cleaning system that provides a receptacle compartment having a removable top wall having a cylindrical cleaning member extending through it into the compartment for holding an inverted cloth vacuum bag. An exhaust fan motor unit also is positioned at the top wall and draws air through the cleaning member and through the cloth pores of the bag, thus forcing out entrapped particles of dirt and general debris caught in the bag and further drawing the air from the compartment and exhausting it to the atmosphere.
Abstract: An improved orthodontic bracket is formed of a wire gripping block secured within a spring metal base having wings or string tabs which set within tab receiving slots on opposite ends of the block. A slot within the face of the block is configured for gripping an orthodontic banding or arch wire extending from tooth to tooth, the face being large enough to accommodate any desired orientation of the slot to convert tension forces in the wire to a desired amount of torque for inducing a predetermined rotation of the tooth. A central plate portion of the base includes a slot elongated for the guidance of an orthodontic pin between the block and the base while transverse wing portions of the aperture serve as keyways for cooperation with alignment pins extending from a back face of the block. A channel for receipt of the orthodontic pin is also located on the back face of the block.
Abstract: A wire cable is unravelled at one end wherein the unravelled individual wire strands are formed into a pear-shaped construction whereby concrete is formed within and without the pear-shaped configuration so as to form a tie-anchor thereof. The invention relates to the process and apparatus for forming the tie-anchor as well. The pear-shaped configuration as formed provides improved tie anchor within a minimum of feed length of cable required to form same, while eliminating the need for costly anchor plates and keys.

Abstract: A garment is formed with a body encircling portion which encircles and encloses the body, either temporarily or permanently, for about one-third or less the length of the garment, with two-thirds or more of the garment being open, and yet the garment gives the appearance of being fully closed along the sides or located areas of open section. The garment is formed with at least four distinct corners which may contain fringes. A novel bag or encasement for laundering the fringes is also provided. This garment is particularly designed and suited as a Jewish religious garment known as a "4-cornered garment" with "tzitzioth", wherein the observant requirements of the garment are provided for and yet the garment has the appearance and usefulness of unique and contemporary garment.
Abstract: A fabric is produced by coating a synthetic substrate fabric with a milled combination of 75 parts fully reacted polyurethane and 25 parts polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE), which product fabric has a large plurality of pores of about 0.2-0.3 microns, and provides high levels of thermal and vapor transmission through the fabric while being highly water repellent. The present fabric is useful in a single ply application for a wide range of apparel and camping goods.
Abstract: An insulated article comprising a plurality of tubular members juxtaposed to each other and insulating material retained in said tubular members. Examples of such insulated products include outerwear formed of a woven fabric made from insulated tubular members.
Abstract: A closure indicator for the door of a baling press, comprising at least one switch finger disposed on the swingable part of the door, which switch finger is adapted to actuate one or more switching cams of electrical switches disposed in said baling press, and said switch finger actuates a disc cam having control surfaces which are situated under a spring-loaded electrical switching element.
Abstract: In a process for the production of a solar collector panel assembly, a pipe arrangement for carrying a heat exchange fluid and a carrier panel for carrying same and for absorbing solar energy are intimately jointed together as by soldering or brazing. The pipe arrangement has straight pipe sections and curved pipe sections connecting same. A joining agent such as solder is applied to the carrier panel along the lines of the pipe arrangement, and the pipe arrangement is then applied thereto. A filling material comprising a substance which repels the joining agent is disposed in the spaces defined between the pipe runs of the pipe arrangement. The intermediate assembly consisting of carrier panel, joining agent, pipe arrangement, filling material and possibly a heat barrier layer disposed on the side of the assembly remote from the carrier panel is fitted between two pressure plates which are clamped together.
Abstract: In a picture scanning and recording system such as a color scanner wherein a reproduction picture is recorded by modulating a plurality of light beams each independently according to a picture signal by means of light modulator elements, a method and apparatus for recording a reproduction picture having a substantially continuous tone characterized by weighting each light beam in order of digit position of a digitized picture signal, and effecting exposure with a light beam resulting from optical addition of the light beams modulated according to such a digital picture signal.
Abstract: An improved veneer lathe which cuts sheets of veneer from a turned log. A torque is applied to the log both by way of the spindle chuck holding its axial ends and by way of its outer periphery. During the cutting operation, the primary cause of log rotation is designed to be an external force applied to the log periphery by using an idling mechanism including a torque limiter, an over-running clutch, etc.
