    Abstract: The apparatus for acoustic-emission inspection of articles has channels e including a series connection of a transducer of acoustic emission signals, positionable on an article under inspection, and an amplifier of electric signals, having connected to its output a unit for measuring the parameters of acoustic emission signals and a shaper of single pulses, of which the output is connected to the first input of a unit for measuring time intervals. The other input of the unit for measuring time intervals of each channel is connected to the output of a clock pulse generator. The output of the clock pulse generator is also connected to the input of a frequency divider. The apparatus further comprises an OR gate of which the inputs, in a number equalling the number of the channels, are connected to the outputs of the shapers of single pulses of each channel, and the output is connected to the third inputs of the units for measuring time intervals in each channel.

The outputs of each control unit are connected to inputs of a respective switching unit based on bidirectional switches connected in a bridge circuit, a switching unit being connected to the respective winding of the synchronous motor.

    Abstract: A cryogenic sorption pump comprises a housing complete with a cover, a bottom, and an inlet nozzle, and, a vessel for cryogenic agent, designed in the form of two shells installed in the central part of the pump one over the other and interconnected by a circular element. The cryogenic agnet vessel is provided with a heat conductor encompassing the upper shell and forming an interspace therewith, wherein is installed a gas-permeable screen. Between the heat conductor and the gas-permeable screen is located an adsorbent. The pump contains a vacuum conductor arranged within the space of the cryogenic agent vessel and provided with heat conductors attached to the vacuum conductor and installed inside the shells, respectively, throughout their length. The ends of the vacuum conductor are provided with heat bridges, respectively, and taken out of the housing through the bottom. The pump is also provided with pipes and for filling in cryogenic agent and removing cryogenic agent vepors, respectively.

Adjacent to a movable plate in the bowl is mounted a welding nozzle for supplying a consumable electrode and a forming means is provided above the brim of the open part of the bowl on a suspension supported by a pivot pin for cooperation with the movable plate and for oscillations in the longitudinal and transverse planes, and the hopper is suspended on the pivot pin of the suspension of the forming means. The pivot pin supporting the movable plate is mounted on a means for pressing an upper end face of the movable plate against the front end extremity of the underside of the forming means.

The apparatus is also provided with a counter for counting the number of revolutions of the auger and a means for controlling flux supplied to the bowl which are connected to each other for actuating the latter when the auger has completed a preset number of revolutions.

The control unit is connected to the track switching unit and the track tracing unit is connected to an information addressing unit kinematically connected with the optical information carrier.

    Abstract: An apparatus for overhead submerged arc welding having a pivotally mounted hopper containing flux and accommodating a bowl which has its open part facing towards a work being welded and communicating with a driven auger feeder for supplying and pressing the flux in the bowl and having a controlled drive. A welding nozzle extends through the bowl, and a former is provided above the brim of the open part of the bowl. A flux backing thickness pickup is connected to the controlled drive of the driven auger feeder for varying the number of revolutions of an auger of the driven auger feeder during a preset time period. The flux backing thickness pickup is mounted on a front edge of the bowl in the welding direction, adjacent to the longitudinal axis thereof, and is in the form of any eddy current transducer. By controlling the driven auger feeder, the apparatus monitors and keeps constant the preset flux backing thickness so as to supply a constant amount of flux to the bowl.

    Abstract: A method of drying thermosensitive materials includes spraying such materials onto inert bodies circulating about a closed space in a flow of a heat-transfer agent at an increased temperature. In the upper part of the flow of the heat-transfer agent, occupying not more than 1/3 of its cross section, the heat transfer agent is rotated at an axial velocity 2 to 3 times higher than the velocity of the heat transfer agent in the rest of the flow. An apparatus for carrying out this method has a cylindrical chamber with a tapered bottom accommodating axially of the chamber a blind tube with a base defining with the walls of the bottom an annular passage for introducing a heat transfer agent thereto. The chamber has a mesh and a propeller mixer secured thereunder on a shaft arranged at an angle of 60.degree.-90.degree. to the axis of the chamber at a distance from this axis which is less than R, where R is the radius of the chamber.
