  • Patent number: 5357283
Abstract: A television system, the composite color television signal (E.sub.M (t)) whereof is generated using reflected modulated signals (E.sub.3 (t)), wherein at the transmitting side video signals (E.sub.1-1 (t), E.sub.1-2 (t)) are used to quadrature modulate subcarriers at the zero and .+-.(.pi./2) phases, thereby generating folded-band signals (E.sub.3 (t)) at subcarrier frequencies selected such as to provide the required phase shifts of the subcarriers in adjacent lines of one frame and in identically numbered lines of adjacent frames. The thus generated folded-band signals are transmitted during time intervals allocated for them in the composite color television signal (E.sub.M (t)). At the receiving side, separating messages of folded-band signals (E.sub.3 (t)) out of the received composite color television signal (E.sub.M (t)) and delaying these messages in delay units (11) for time intervals constituting multiples of the television scan.

  • Patent number: 5339969
Abstract: The frame for hanging files may be quickly assembled and does not require tools or any type fastening devices. The rails for holding the files are positioned within the channel of a rail housing, that is positioned at the top end of rail supports. A locking bar with a cam head pivots within the rail housing to first bear against the rail and then to hold the rail in position within the channel of the rail housing. Support bars are then used to hold the locking bar in position and to provide stability for the frame.

  • Patent number: 5229867
Abstract: A method of making a half-tone reproduction of an image includes the step of forming an image consisting of half-tone dots having a greater size at darker image units areas. Each image unit area is divided into a plurality of elements. The elements are formed dark, making up a half-tone dot, or light dependent on the comparison between the reflectivity of a corresponding unit area and values of a half-tone function which is a two-dimensional periodic function of the coordinates of the elements. The method further includes determining variation of the reflectivity of the image in two mutually opposite directions at the place of location of each unit area and comparing the reflectivity with the half-tone function value corresponding to the coordinates of the element shifted with respect to the element to be formed in a direction of a greater decrease in reflectivity, if such a decrease takes place. As a result, the half-tone dots lying on an image contour are shifted towards a darker part of the image.

  • Patent number: 5187383
Abstract: The disclosed circuit for actuating headlights has two time delay circuits, an AND gate, a power relay, and connections for appropriate installation to the circuitry of the automobile. When windshield wipers are operated, a pulse of the windshield wiper motor causes the first time delay circuit and the second time delay circuit to run timing cycles. The timing cycle of the first circuit is shorter than the timing cycle of the second circuit, and the first circuit is restarted with each pulse of the windshield wiper motor. Each timing delay unit has an output signal which is a logical "one" when a cycle is being run and a logical "zero" when a cycle is not being run. When the AND gate receives logical zeros from the second time delay circuit, and logical ones from the first time delay circuit, windshield wipers are in use and the headlights and parking lights are switched on. A daylight detection circuit may be incorporated to provide safe use of the unit in dusk hours.

  • Patent number: 5109705
Abstract: The turbine rate-of-flow transducer incorporates a cylindrical body consecutively located wherein in the cocurrent direction there are a first flow straightener, a device for balancing an axial force of the flow, a rotor and a second flow straightener. The device for balancing the axial force of the flow is a truncated cone with passages spaced equidistantly apart all the way along the circumference of the side surface. Each passage is directed so that a projection of its longitudinal axis makes with a plane through an axis of revolution of the rotor an angle between 7.degree. and 20.degree., the vertex whereof points towards the vertex of an angle inclined whereat are the vanes of the rotor. The aggregate cross-sectional area of the passages in the zone of the large base of the means of balancing amounts to 2-6% of the area of flow section at the inlet into the rotor. A pickup located in the body in the zone of the rotor generates a pulse each time a vane of the rotor passes.
