Abstract: A lingual dental matrix tensioner comprising two posts maintained parallel by two parallel rods through the posts at a right angle to the post axes One rod is threaded and has an end knob for adjusting the spacing between the posts, the other rod is a guide rod. Both ends of a matrix band are clamped to one post and the doubled matrix is guided through one of several slots in the other to form a retainer loop at any location. Rotating the threaded rod to separate the posts reduces the size of the loop.
Abstract: A non-slip trousers hanger is formed from a conventional plastic clothes hanger by cementing a layer of polyurethane around the entire surface of the horizontal bar. This is easily and quickly done by slitting a polyurethane tubing having an I.D. equal to the diameter of the bar and slipping the tubing over an adhesive coated bar.
Abstract: An auxiliary strainer that covers the large openings of a stall shower drain strainer that will protect against the loss of earrings and small valuables in the shower as well as protect against broken toes and fingers of curious children. The strainer with approximately 160 holes of 1/8 inch plus a larger center resilient hole is snapped to a ball on the end of a weighted rod that drops into the existing shower drain strainer.
Abstract: A tool for quickly coupling a crane hook to a dovetailed socket attached to a load consists of a heavy frame with a plate that pivots out on bushings near the lower end of the frame. Both the frame and pivoting plate have outward slanting surfaces at the lower ends that engage the dovetailed socket when the plate is pivoted up against the frame and they are locked together by a crane hook passing through aligned holes through both the plate and frame.
Abstract: A conventional plastic clothes hanger has a horizontal bar covered with plastic foam such as polyurethane foam to give it a non-slip surface for hanging trousers and other garments. Several auxiliary clamps are described for cooperating with the foam covered horizontal bars for hanging multi-layers or trousers by the cuffs.
Abstract: A slidable block puzzle game played by maneuvering rectangular blocks in a smooth surfaced box with low walls is hinged to a lid of the same size that contains partitions that enclose each of the rectangular blocks in their initial game-starting position when the lid is closed.
Abstract: A portable lighting system comprised of a plug-in lamp and a rechargeable power pack having a single phone jack and two parallel circuits to the battery. When upright, a discharge circuit containing a mercury switch connects the battery to the lamp. When inverted, the discharge circuit is opened and the parallel circuit containing a diode allows current to only pass into the battery from the jack coupled to a battery charger. The system will provide light to table surfaces for commercial use such as restaurants, retirement homes as well as in private homes, such as for swimming pool areas and nurseries.
Abstract: A healing pack for applying an epsom salts soak to body parts normally inaccessible to soaking includes a pliable, saucer shaped, foam cup containing a water soluble gel mixture of epsom salts and glycerin. When applied to sprains and contusions it functions the same as soaking in epsom salts and water.
Abstract: An exercising dumbbell comprising a tubular body with attached "U" shaped handle for use with two hands. The body contains a D.C. motor which is geared to a stationary central shaft and which may rotate around the shaft to generate strong vibrations. Batteries are contained within the handle and motor speed is varied from zero to maximum by pressure activated switches under each hand. Function switches on the body reverse motor direction, permit one-hand, both-hand or hands-free operation, provide music through an included speaker, and generate an exhilarating train of pulses.
Abstract: Small boats being trailer launched from steep ramps are in danger of spilling water over the transom if the bow is held high by the trailer. The invention is for a two component jack screw mechanism that can lower the trailer tongue below the trailer hitch without disconnecting it from the towing vehicle. One component coupled to the trailer tongue has a vertical tower that fits within a second tower attached to the second component that is coupled to the trailer hitch. A manually operated crank attached to a jack screw within the two towers lowers the tongue and the bow of the boat so that the boat may float from the trailer.
Abstract: A production V-block including four or more individually vertically adjustable V-blocks on a single ferromagnetic base for magnetically securing to a machine tool table, all of the V-blocks are ground to identical depths for simultaneous identical operations on several work pieces.
Abstract: A wall mounted figure that has swinging legs and arms and a swaying head that continuously moves in dancing movements is constructed with two pendulums with permanent magnets influenced by electromagnetic fields generated by two current-carrying coils. The pendulums operate independently so that the legs and the head and arms swing at different rates to give an appearance of a person dancing the twist.
Abstract: A portable hard cover dispenser for a small roll of interconnected plastic bags has a dispensing slot for removing a bag, a brake for holding the roll of bags while a bag is torn from the roll, a bag rewinder, and is equipped with a belt hook for convenience in carrying.
