  • Patent number: 5380070
Abstract: A vehicle wheel lug nut cover comprises a dome shaped tube having an open end that is larger than the lug nut and a closed end with an internal jam nut that is threaded to the end of the lug bolt extending from the lug nut. Lug nut covers may be used to secure a wheel cover to the wheel of the vehicle without removing a lug nut.

  • Patent number: 5341859
Abstract: Apparatus for filling tubular dispensing cartridges with paste or viscous fluid comprises a mandrel adapted for a sliding fit within the cartridges, the mandrel having an axial fluid passage and a parallel air passage which extends from the mandrel top to an radial opening near the mandrel bottom surface. A pneumatic control system controls the amount of paste or fluid by sensing the flow of air through the air passage. If air passes through the passage, the fluid valve is closed; if air is blocked by a cartridge on the mandrel, the fluid valve is enabled and a manual control valve may be used.

  • Patent number: 5321911
Abstract: An interior storm window in low thermally conductive ABS sash is slideable in ABS tracks sealed around the interior of a window opening and parallel to an extablished window. Flexible vinyl wiper strips on the rails and stiles of the window sash contact the tracks and adjacent window stiles to render the storm window practically draftproof and comparable to dual pane windows.

  • Patent number: 5312295
Abstract: A heat venting system for subterranean transformer enclosures for sidewalks or streets includes a vent guard that passes air but prevents solids and fluids such as destructive oil from dropping upon the transformers. Used in connection with a vent plate having very many small holes will prevent leaves and sticks from clogging the vent and destroying the transformers.

  • Patent number: 5267972
Abstract: A hypodermic syringe with cylindrical guard that surrounds the needle and its tip at all times will protect medical personnel from possible injury from contaminated needles. The needle guard retracts into a cylindrical cavity when pressed against a patient and extends by a spring when the needle is withdrawn.

  • Patent number: 5253928
Abstract: A method of mounting a kinetic wheel balancer on a vehicle wheel involves a wheel cover having a interior annular recess near the periphery. The wheel balancer is merely placed in the recess and the wheel cover is installed. The balancer is locked firmly in place between the annular recess and a tire ring on the wheel.

  • Patent number: 5228587
Abstract: A cap quickly sealing a distribution pipe of a vacuum chamber having a flange includes a cup shaped body that fits over the flange and contains a sealing disc with O-ring that presses against the flange surface. The cap is locked to the flange by steel balls that partially pass through holes in the body and wedge under the inserted flange, the balls being held or released by an outer sleeve with two interior ball races of a large and a smaller diameter so that drawing up the sleeve will permit the balls to enter the large diameter race and fall back to release a flange in the body.

  • Patent number: RE34783
Abstract: A method for determining a value of absolute reflectance of a material at .[.a predetermined.]. .Iadd.any .Iaddend.wavelength, in the ultraviolet range from its measured reflectance which includes system losses contributed by optics, illumination sources, detectors, etc. The method involves the measurement of reflectance from a known material such as single crystal silicon whose absolute reflectance is well known, dividing the measured value by the absolute value to obtain a system efficiency coefficient at the known wavelength and then, without changing the illumination or optics, measuring the reflectance of the unknown material and applying this coefficient to this measured value to obtain its absolute value.
