  • Patent number: 5022009
Abstract: First and second bit lines are arranged on one side of each sense amplifier while third and fourth bit lines are arranged on the other side thereof. A first dummy cell is connected to either the first bit line or the second bit line. In addition, a second dummy cell is connected to either the third bit line or the fourth bit line. When a memory cell connected to the first bit line is selected, the second dummy cell is simultaneously selected. On this occasion, the first bit line is connected to a first terminal of the sense amplifier, and the third bit line and the fourth bit line are connected to a second terminal of the sense amplifier. Potentials of the first and second terminals are differentially amplified. On the other hand, when a memory cell connected to the third bit line is selected, the first dummy cell is simultaneously selected.

  • Patent number: 5022029
Abstract: A method and device are provided for the transmission of data. After organizing the data into words all having the same number of bits, tables are formed each comprising a plurality of words, the words of these tables are coded by means of an error correcting code, and the bits of each table are transmitted using an interleaving method, at a transmission rate sufficient so that, during the time of formation of the table of rank N, a number R of tables, of rank N, N-1, N-2, . . . , N-R are transmitted. The reverse operations are carried out at reception. This method makes it possible to tolerate interruptions in transmission having a relatively long duration, without introducing too great a delay between the source and the user circuit.

  • Patent number: 5021352
Abstract: A method for measuring the amount of oxygen in a sample gas is suited for quantifying small amount of oxygen in a sample gas. The method of the present invention comprises reacting the oxygen and vapor of yellow phosphorus under a vapor pressure of the yellow phosphorus which is lower than the saturated vapor pressure of the yellow phosphorus at room temperature; and measuring the intensity of light emitted by the reaction. The amount of the oxygen in the sample gas is determined by measuring the intensity of the light emitted by the reaction by a light intensity-measuring device.

  • Patent number: 5021685
Abstract: An input buffer for semiconductor integrated circuits has a resistor (16), capacitor (17) and a logical gate comprising transistors (11, 12, 13) connected in series between a supply line (61) and a ground line (62). The resistor (16) reduces the through current which flows toward the ground (Vss) when the logical gate switches. In a high speed operation, the capacitor (17) supplies current to the logical gate so that any delay which may possibly be caused by the provision of the resistor (16) can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 5019739
Abstract: An engine starter includes a motor having a tubular armature rotation shaft, and a rotation output shaft arranged on one axial end side of the motor coaxially therewith to be axially slidably supported. A clutch mechanism is included for transmitting torque from the armature rotation shaft to a rotation output shaft and an electromagnetic switch which has a shifting member to push the aforementioned rotation output shaft by an electromagnetic force in the axial direction to slidably move it. The switch also brings movable contacts in touch with fixed contacts to supply power to the aforementioned motor. A rear part of the rotation output shaft and the front part of the shifting member are inserted into the armature rotation shaft tube from opposite directions. The shifting member of the electromagnetic switch, the armature rotation shaft and the rotation output shaft are all coaxially arranged to reduce the length of the starter.

  • Patent number: 5020031
Abstract: P-type sense amplifier and N-type sense amplifier are connected to each of bit lines in a pair of bit lines respectively. N-channel MOS transistor is connected to each of the bit lines between the P-type sense amplifier and the N-type sense amplifier, and normally turned on. Each of a plurality of memory cells is connected to any of the bit lines at the side of the N-type sense amplifier from the transistor. The power source potential generated by the P-type sense amplifier is dropped by the threshold voltage of the transistor and supplied to one of the bit liens to which the memory cells are connected. The ground potential generated by the N-type sense amplifier is supplied without changing the potential to other of the bit lines.
