Patent number: 5014185Abstract: A loop control apparatus for controlling general process control such as control of the temperature of water supply comprises an interpreter for interpreting input information in the form of trains of characters to provide instrument information and a compiler for interpreting the train of character and compiling therefrom operational equation information. The trains of characters are inputted from an external general purpose computer as a man-machine interface through a serial interface provided within the loop control apparatus, and are subjected to word analysis and syntax analysis by the interpreter and the compiler. Loop control function information produced through the word and syntax analysis is stored into a memory means. Once the instrument design and the operational design have been completed, the interface computer is not needed and can thus be used for other jobs not related to the system under control.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1989Date of Patent: May 7, 1991Assignee: Japan Tobacco, Inc.Inventors: Takashi Saito, Hideyuki Fujiwara, Kenji Kubo

Patent number: 5012472Abstract: In a memory cell comprising a data cell array and a parity cell array, an error checking.multidot.correcting circuit is connected to each of the arrays through a selector. The selector is constituted by transistors connected to each of the bit lines in the memory cell. The number of circuit elements constituting the error checking.multidot.correcting circuit corresponds to one-half of the number of the bit line pairs included in the data cell array and the parity cell array. In an error correcting mode, half of the data appeared on the bit line pairs in data cell array and the parity cell array are transferred to the error checking.multidot.correcting circuit by the selector, so that the errors are corrected. Thereafter, the data of the remaining half of the bit line pairs are processed in the same manner. Therefore, the number of circuit elements of the error checking.multidot.correcting circuit can be reduced compared with the prior art, improving the degree of integration of the device.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1988Date of Patent: April 30, 1991Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Kazutami Arimoto, Kiyohiro Furutani, Koichiro Mashiko

Patent number: 5012428Abstract: A vibration control system for generating desired random vibration environment with a given reference Power Spectral Density (P.S.D.) using a vibration generator on which a test object is fixed is disclosed. A detected signal representing vibration of a test object is converted into a response spectrum by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and the response spectrum is compared with the reference spectrum to determine a drive spectrum. Random drive signal having the determined drive spectrum amplitude is then generated continuously, and the signal is applied to a vibration generator on which the test object is fixed. This signal must be random i.e. nonperiodic, and therefore consisting of continuous spectral components with sufficient statistical independence. Method and facility to generate above mentioned signal are the principal of the present invention.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1989Date of Patent: April 30, 1991Assignee: IMV CorporationInventors: Kazuyoshi Ueno, Katsushi Imoto

Patent number: 5011136Abstract: This invention relates to improvements in a resilient leg brace which acts in parallel with a runner's legs to support his or her weight during foot impact, to store the kinetic energy of vertical motion, and to release said energy thrusting the runner back into the air during take-off. The running brace is energy efficient in that it stores and releases the maximum amount of vertical kinetic energy so that the leg muscles do not need to supply as much energy to lift the runner's weight during each step. The running brace also protects the legs and other parts of the body from impact damage. The leg brace is attached to a pelvic harness, and optional back and neck braces are attached to the shoulders and the chin to protect the back and neck from impact shock. The first improvement relates to an asymmetric travel structure which enables the running brace to deliver an upward thrust over a greater distance than that required to absorb the runner's downward impact.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 1988Date of Patent: April 30, 1991Inventor: Brian G.
