  • Patent number: 5826472
Abstract: A wire processing apparatus is provided with a prefeeder 120, a feeding unit 12 and an accumulator 110 therebetween. A detector is provided to determine if there is a cause for stopping the prefeeder 120. In response to such a detected cause, a controller stops the prefeeder 120 while simultaneously permitting the feeding unit 12 to draw a wire from the accumulator to permit continued operation of the wire processing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5825261
Abstract: A device provides, with passive circuits only, an output voltage in which ch spectral component is phase-shifted and attenuated by programmable values in relation to the spectral component of same frequency of an input signal. An adapter circuit (CA) applies the input signal V.sub.E onto two transfer channels (VT1 and VT2) which generate two signals with quadrature spectral components and with amplitudes multiplied by a coefficient of -1-+1. These signals are added in an adder circuit (CAD) which provides the output signal. The driver circuit (CC) receives the required phase-shifting and attenuation commands and corrects, if need be, the defects of the assembly through the control signals of the transfer channels (VT1 and VT2).

  • Patent number: 5824096
Abstract: A femoral component with a femoral stabilizing implanted rod has condylar surfaces of different radii which mate with a thermoplastic bearing. A mating tibial platform is stabilized in the tibia with a rod, the bearing translating on the platform in the posterior-anterior directions in response to knee flexion and extension. The bearing bears the full extension load on congruent articulating contact regions with the condylar surfaces and lesser flexion loads via incongruent articulating contact. A hinge assembly is pinned to the femoral condylar component through a head having a depending shaft fixed to a thermoplastic tapered bearing axially floating and rotatably movable in a tibia platform component mating cavity. The head passes through the bearing and stops the bearing translations at extreme posterior and anterior positions.

  • Patent number: 5824101
Abstract: A prosthesis tibial bearing of thermoplastic material has a planar surface which engages the mating planar surface of a second prosthesis component such as the tibial platform. The typically metal platform edge wipes across the inner surface region of the bearing causing deformation of the bearing surface. This deformation causes stress magnification in the bearing at the platform edge region. The edge region of the platform planar surface is tapered to provide a gradual curved ramp between a relatively small corner radius at the platform edge and the platform planar surface, the tapered region being tangential to the edge radius and to the platform planar surface. The stress concentration increase at the edge region of the bearing is reduced at the platform edge region to below 100% and preferably to about 25% of the stress value between the bearing and the platform in the region interior the platform edge.

  • Patent number: 5816376
Abstract: A fluid clutch which is structurally simplified to lower its cost and enabled to stabilize its action by optimizing the arrangement of an electromagnetic valve and to have a long lifetime by preventing a premature deterioration of a bearing or the like. The inside of a sealed case 2, in which a drive disc 3 fixed on a rotary shaft 1 is accommodated and made rotatably on the rotary shaft 1, is divided by a partition 5 into a torque transmission chamber 4 and an oil supply chamber 6, so that the drive torque of the drive disc 3 is transmitted to the sealed case 2 by the oil to be fed from the oil supply chamber 6 to the torque transmission chamber 4. Midway of a discharge passage 7 for feeding the oil, as recovered by a dam mechanism, from the torque transmission chamber 4 to the oil supply chamber 7, a passage controlling electromagnetic valve 10 is arranged coaxially with the rotary shaft 1.

  • Patent number: 5810610
Abstract: To realize a simple and inexpensive connection of a high-voltage resistive cable and a high-voltage part without providing a special facility. A C-shaped fittable member 11 the opposite ends of which have inwardly acting restoring forces is provided. A groove 13 is formed on the outer surface of a right end portion of a connection part 2. Rectangular through holes are formed in a part insertion portion 1a fitted with the connection part 2 in two positions facing the groove 13. The fittable member 11 is cut in positions in the vicinity of the opposite ends thereof. The left sides of cut portions are bent inward to form projections 16a, 16b. By fitting the fittable member 11 on the part insertion portion 1a, the projections 16a are fitted and locked in the groove 13 through the through holes of the part insertion portion 1a so as to prevent the connection part 2 from coming out of the part insertion portion 1a.

  • Patent number: 5807129
Abstract: To securely lock connectors for charging, a charging connectors 1 is engaged with a vehicle-side connector 25, lock balls 9 are engaged with an engaging groove 28 and a locking member 10 is engaged with the lock balls 9. As a result, the connectors 1 and 25 are locked. Since the connectors 1 and 25 are locked by a ball lock mechanism taking advantage of the engagement of the lock balls 9, the connectors can be more securely locked even if the connectors and wires are heavy as compared to a prior art locking mechanism adopting an elastically deformable resin lance or engaging member and, therefore, a better reliability can be ensured.

  • Patent number: 5807031
Abstract: The invention is designed to improve a cutting performance and a spiral chip discharging ability. Main cutting edges 16 and auxiliary cutting edges 18 are formed along the respective sides of an upper surface 14 of a negative throw-away tip 12 and along side of bevelled corners, respectively. A rake face 22 of each main cutting edge 16 is gradually inclined toward a lower surface of the tip 12 by an angle of inclination .beta. along the extension of the main cutting edge 16 away from its adjacent auxiliary cutting edge 18 and by a rake angle .alpha. (>.beta.) along a direction perpendicular to the main cutting edge 16. The tip 12 is mounted on a cutter 9 as a rotatable cutting tool so as to discharge spiral chips during cutting. To this end, the tip 12 is mounted such that an axial rake angle, a corner angle, an angle of inclination, and a true rake angle are set in a range of -4.degree. to -10.degree., a range of 25.degree. to 60.degree., a range of 0.degree. or larger, and a range of -20.degree. to -5.

  • Patent number: 5794603
Abstract: An ignition coil device is provided in which a damaged portion can be exchanged and which requires no connector for connecting a power switch with a wiring harness. Since an ignition coil device 2 is constructed such that a primary coil portion 21 and a power switch 22 are secured by fitting the primary coil portion 21 into a hollow core of a secondary coil portion 23 mounted in advance on an engine 30, the primary and secondary coil portions 21, 23 can be detachably connected via an iron core 21c as a magnetic core. Accordingly, only the secondary coil portion 23 having a relatively short life due to the generation of varying high voltage can be easily exchanged. Further, since the power switch 22 and the primary coil portion 21 are integrally or unitarily connected with a wiring harness 40, the construction can be made inexpensive and simple by the deletion of a connector provided in a prior art ignition coil device, thereby enhancing electrical reliability.

  • Patent number: 5794749
Abstract: A temperature-responsive fluid-type fan coupling has a sealing casing with a partition plate disposed therein. The partition plate divides interior portions of the casing into an oil reservoir chamber and a torque transmission chamber. A port extends through the partition plate to provide communication between the chambers. The casing is rotatably mounted around a rotary shaft such that an end of the shaft is disposed in the torque transmission chamber. A drive disc is fixedly mounted to the shaft and is disposed in the torque transmission chamber. Fluid in the torque transmission chamber functions to transmit torque from the disc to the casing. The valve member has one end mounted to the partition plate and an opposed end movably positioned in proximity to the port through the partition plate. Intermediate portions of the valve member are engaged by a pin, which in turn is movable in response to a temperature-responsive member. The valve member is biased to instantaneously open and close at set temperatures.
