Abstract: A product assortment planning system determines scaled performance metric values for an assortment of products. The system includes a data store storing performance metric values for an assortment of products including a target assortment of products and a source assortment of products, an equivalization unit and a scaling unit. The equivalization unit equivalizes the performance metric values for the source assortment of products. The scaling unit determines incrementality assumptions. The incrementality assumptions are an estimation of an amount of cannibalization that occurs for the target assortment of products as a result of combining the source assortment of products with the target assortment of products. Scaled performance metric values are calculated for each product in the assortment of products based on the equivalized performance metric values and the incrementality assumptions.

Abstract: An Object Customization and Management (OCM) system is configured to identify an object for creating a website based on a business objective. The OCM system includes a customizing module configured to determine qualitative attribute categories for a plurality of objects operable to be used in websites. The module assigns the plurality of objects to the qualitative attribute categories. The OCM system also includes a data management module configured to receive a request for one of the plurality of objects to be used to achieve the business objective. This module also matches the business objective with one of the qualitative attribute categories, and selects an object in the matched qualitative attribute category for the request.

Abstract: A decision management system simulates a communications network service deployment using business and technology changeable parameters, a base case model, a network cost model and a bandwidth model. The simulations may be performed for different sets of changeable parameters to generate multiple candidate solutions. These solutions are analyzed to identify a solution for deploying the communications network service.

Abstract: An apparatus for protecting and fastening a wire to a mounting object includes a molded unibody having a first section connected to a second section, wherein the first section includes a surface that operates to receive a fastener, such as a staple, therethrough to secure the wire in place against the mounting object, and the second section protrudes from the surface of the first section and extends away from the surface of the first section for a user to safely hold the first section in place as the user mounts the apparatus and the wire to the mounting object.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for communicating transactional and informational messages among air travel service providers and other participants. The technique implements a public protocol in a network having a service oriented architecture. A message in a source format is converted to a public format message with a payload, wherein the payload is the message. The open source message is parsed and communicated over a network, such as the Internet Protocol network, to a switch. The switch authenticates the message, extracts the payload, and communicates the message to the destination, where the message may be converted into a destination format and communicated to a user interface. The message may be processed by the switch and/or the destination to obtain statistical and/or other useful data.

Abstract: A barrel jacket covering at least partially the outer surface of the bullet-guiding barrel of a firearm is provided, wherein the barrel jacket has at least one inner casing and one outer casing and a spacer. The inner casing is arranged adjacent to the barrel, covering the barrel in a close-up position. The outer casing is arranged at a distance to the inner casing, covering the inner casing, thus providing a continuous gap. The continuous gap is stabilized by at least one spacer, which stabilizes the inner casing and outer casing in their relative positions.

The production information in the storage system is used to reconfigure the repurposable recovery environment from the second environment to the recovery environment.

Abstract: A payment integrity system that processes data, including data associated with a biometric technology. The system includes a discovery module to receive insurance records from a source of data, which includes the data associated with the biometric technology, the records providing information that pertain to at least one transaction. The discovery module includes a query component and an artificial intelligence engine to process the records to identify a second subset of the records having anomalous information, and provide a second analysis output indicative of the second subset. The system also includes an audit module to determine whether to instruct the artificial intelligence engine to analyze the records according to the outputs. The system facilitates resolution of a claim payment based on the first analysis output and the second analysis output.

Abstract: A method for modeling a financial risk in a service level agreement (SLA) between a service provider and a customer for the service provider to provide one or more services to the customer is provided. The method includes forecasting a service performance of the service provider for at least one performance metric of the SLA, modeling at least one scenario for the SLA based on one or more negotiated terms between the service provider and the customer as found in the SLA, and applying the forecasted service performance of the service provider against the at least one modeled SLA scenario to calculate a financial risk of the service provider with regard to the at least one modeled SLA scenario.

The method for fabricating the semiconductor device includes the steps of: forming a transistor included in the semiconductor device on a semi conductor substrate forming an insulating layer on the transistor; forming contact holes, through which a region of the transistor is exposed, by selectively removing the insulating layer forming a silicon layer in the contact holes forming a metal layer on the insulating layer and the silicon layer; forming a metal suicide layer through heat treatment of the silicon layer and the metal layer; removing the metal layer; forming an amorphous silicon layer on the insulating layer and the metal suicide layer; and forming a polysilicon layer through heat treatment of the amorphous silicon layer.
