  • Patent number: 8336574
Abstract: A regulator comprises a regulator valve and an actuator. The actuator is coupled to the regulator valve and comprises a control element for controlling the flow of fluid through the regulator valve. The actuator is additionally equipped with a pressure averaging sense tube to sense the actual pressure at the outlet of the regulator valve. The actual pressure is then supplied to a sensing element such as a diaphragm of the actuator to adjust the position of the control element. The pressure averaging sense tube includes an open sensing end and an elongated slot. The elongated slot advantageously senses and averages the pressure across the length of the sense tube to maximize the accuracy of the pressure signal supplied to the sensing element.

  • Patent number: 8340124
Abstract: A method detects a bandwidth that is transmitted by a transmitter in a radio communications system, which is based on transmission frames. The transmission frames comprise a fixed time extension and a variable spectral extension. The transmission frames consist of a plurality of sub-units. Each sub-unit of the transmission frames contains a control channel, which is subdivided into two sub-control channels. The two sub-control channels are arranged at the spectral edges of the sub-units of the transmission frames. The transmitted bandwidth is investigated by determining the spectral extension of the transmission frame. The spectral extension of the transmission frame is determined by determining the spectral position of the sub-control channels in the sub-units of the transmission frames.

  • Patent number: 8339394
Abstract: A method and system for applying photo texture to geolocated 3D models operates within a 3D modeling system. The modeling system includes a modeling application operating on a workstation and a database of geotagged imagery. A 3D model created or edited within the 3D modeling system is geolocated such that every point in the 3D modeling space corresponds to a real world location. For a selected surface, the method and system search the database of imagery to identify in the database one or more images depicting the selected surface of the 3D model. The method and system identify the boundaries of the selected surface within the image by transforming two or more sets of coordinates from the 3D modeling space to a coordinate space corresponding to the image. The portion of the image corresponding to the selected surface is copied and mapped to the selected surface of the 3D model.

  • Patent number: 8340371
Abstract: A biodetector permits formation of an image of the inner face of the hand or of a finger of a user when the hand or the finger (101) is placed in front of an image-forming device (11), at a defined height (F). The height is adapted such that the biodetection image is sufficiently clear and is indicated to the user by means of a sign (40) projected onto the outer face of the hand or of the finger. Such a biodetector does not require the hand or finger to be applied to a support surface, and it permits intuitive and rapid use of the biodetector.

  • Patent number: 8340164
Abstract: A measuring system is used for testing a feedback signal transmitted by a communications device within a communications system. The measuring system comprises an antenna system and a measuring device. The measuring device transmits a signal to a communications device via the air interface and the antenna system. The communications device receives the signal and generates a feedback signal dependent upon transmission conditions of the signal, which it has determined, and transmits it to the measuring device. The measuring device measures the actual reception quality of the signal in the communications device.

  • Patent number: 8338172
Abstract: The present Invention provides novel methods for immortalizing cells that secrete antibodies of one or more specific isotypes. Polyclonal, oligoclonal, and monoclonal populations of cells obtained using the methods of the Invention can be screened on the basis of the functional and/or binding activities of the antibodies they secrete, for example directed to antigens of human or viral origin having medical interest, in cell culture conditions. Using these methods, human B cells that secrete antibodies binding human Cytomegalovirus, Herpes Simplex Virus, or HSP60 protein have been efficiently immortalized with Epstein-Barr virus.
