  • Patent number: 4502584
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a coin slide assembly having a coin slide disposed for accommodating up to eight coins in a vertical position. The assembly further includes sets of inter-engaging channels and post on the assembly housing and on the coin slide, respectively, to restrict access to the internal blocking dog components of the assembly by persons intent on damaging or interferring with the normal operation of the dogs. A gate is provided through which the coins pass upon inserted movement of the coin slide. The assembly further includes a coin sizing block having inverted V-shaped notches which cooperate with the blocking dogs to render the coin slide operative only when properly sized coins are carried by the slide. A protective bar restricts the movement of the blocking dogs beyond their non-blocking position to prevent distortion of the spring which biases the dogs to their normal blocking position.

  • Patent number: 4502760
Abstract: The module comprises first and second plates (4,5), with means (6) for holding said plates substantially parallel to each other and face-to-face to leave an accessory-receiving space (16) therebetween. The plates have respective optical path openings (7,8) through them substantially aligned along a common optical axis (9). Complementary male and female snap-fitting means (10, 11) are fitted to the outside surfaces of the first and second plates respectively so that a plurality of holders can be stacked to one another along the optical axis. Each holder has internal gripping means (32, 33) for resiliently gripping an accessory (12, 13) in the longitudinal direction. Robust holder modules can be cheaply manufactured from plastic to provide great versatility in fitting accessories such as filters and/or masks, polarizers, etc. . . . to a camera or other optical equipment.

  • Patent number: 4501558
Abstract: In an ultrasonic dental cleaning and scaling device, the ultrasonically energized scaling tip and the water nozzle are positioned adjacent to one another. The scaling tip is within a grooved shield and the water nozzle is positioned along the longitudinal groove of the shield. A wafer like stabilizing element is positioned and mounted around the shield. A tab portion of the stabilizer extends into the groove of the shield to fix the rotational position of the stabilizer. A small opening in the tab portion of the stabilizer accepts the water nozzle thereby positioning the water nozzle relative to the scaling tip and the shield.

  • Patent number: 4500835
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting grain direction in wood particularly in lumber by means of high frequency radio energy like microwave radiation. The grain direction in lumber can be detected so that knots will cause no significant error to the measuring result. The knots are detected by the method according to the invention in so far as they contain deviations of grain direction. The microwave radiation is either passed through or reflected from the piece of lumber. Radiation energy is transmitted with the aid of a transmitting antenna with a certain direction of polarization and a signal of grain direction is obtained by detecting microwave field by a receiving antenna whose direction of polarization plane forms an angle of 90.degree. with the direction of polarization plane of transmitting antenna.

  • Patent number: 4495232
Abstract: A stamping foil for forming printed circuit patterns on insulating or poorly conductive substrates comprising an electrically conductive layer made of a highly conductive metal, such as copper, which is endowed with a sufficiently low shear strength, even in thicknesses of 10 microns or more, to permit easy and sharp separation of the activated (imprinted) and non-activated portions of the foil. Such a low shear strength may be achieved with fibrous or fibrous-granular crystallite structures, wherein the fibers are oriented approximately at right angles to the surfaces of the foil, and, in addition, by doping agents containing carbon, nitrogen and sulfur. The foil may comprise a bonding layer for bonding the conductive layer to a substrate, or such a bonding layer may be applied to the surface of the conductive layer before the stamping operation. The conductive layer may be either self-supporting, or it may adhere to a carrier tape through an intermediary separating layer.
