Abstract: A method and system includes multiple displays that can be separately controlled by users who are part of a surgical team. The first display will include information to assist a first user through the steps of a surgical procedure and the second display will assist a second user though the steps taken by the second user to perform the surgical procedure.
Abstract: A cleaning system for an inkjet printhead comprises an inkjet printhead having an inkjet nozzle array associated therewith. The inkjet printhead is in fluid communication with a first source of a first pressurized fluid. A fluid nozzle associated with the inkjet printhead is in fluid communication with a second source of a second pressurized fluid. The cleaning system further comprises a collection plate. Ink is forcibly ejected from the inkjet printhead by the first source of the first pressurized fluid. A stream of the second pressurized fluid is guided by the fluid nozzle across a surface of the inkjet printhead to direct ink ejected from the inkjet printhead onto the collection plate.

Abstract: The device (12) comprises a laser (14) which is attached to the tool (2). During operation a laser beam (16) is emitted onto an optical lens (20) which is of cylindrical shape. The lens (20) is suspended to swivel freely, e. g. by means of a swivel arm (24) which is operatively connected to the tool (2). Thus, the main axis (28) of the lens (20) is kept vertically by the gravity force when the tool (2) is moved or tilted. The shape of the laser marker (I1 II, III) generated on a workpiece (8) is an indication for the user of the tool (2) concerning an inclination (x, y) of the tool (2).
Abstract: A book product apparatus and method for producing books includes the step of supplying a controller, a gathering line, and a plurality of feeding devices, wherein the feeding devices are adapted to dispense at least one signature onto the gathering line based on instructions from the controller. The method further includes the steps of loading a customer list and a separate recipient list associated with each feeding device into the controller and comparing two customer data sources to generate the instructions to send to the feeding devices as to what signatures to dispense from the feeding devices.
Abstract: An adapter can be easily used to assist a surgical navigation system to determine the effector axis or the effector plane of a surgical instrument. The adapter has a body with a geometrical feature, the geometrical feature has a known relation with a navigation tracker device that can be attached to the adapter. When the adapter is held against a surgical instrument in a non-fixed manner, the effector axis or the effector plane of the instrument can be tracked by the surgical navigation system. The method includes a calibration method to determine the known relation between the effector axis or the effector plane and the location of the navigation tracker.

Abstract: A device determines at least one characteristic point of a joint which joins together two limbs and is to be measured orthopedically comprising a first coupling element which may be positioned on a first limb adjoining the joint, a second coupling element which may be moved relative to the first coupling element and may be positioned on a second limb adjoining the joint, and a measuring device for determining the position of the first coupling element relative to the second coupling element. The measuring device has at least one reference point rigidly connected to one of the first and second coupling elements, and a reference point detection device rigidly connected to the respective other of the first and second coupling elements. During a movement of the first and second limbs with respect to one another the reference point detection device determines the at least one characteristic point.

Abstract: An apparatus has a plurality of printing cartridges to reproduce an image, wherein each printing cartridge prints a portion of the image onto a substrate. The apparatus further includes a media transport for moving the substrate parallel to a first dimension. The printing cartridges are disposed on a carrier in a two dimensional pattern such that the plurality of printing cartridges are able to print on the substrate a line that is perpendicular to the first dimension. Fewer than half of the plurality printing cartridges that print segments of the line that abut each other are adjacent to each other along the first dimension.
Abstract: A method for managing two-way alternate communication in half-duplex mode between at least two end equipments of a packet switching transport network in non-connected mode, provides that an indicating element serves, when it is present with a first given value in the packets transmitted from one of said end equipments to a central equipment managing the communication, to indicate to said central equipment that said end equipment acknowledges receipt of the right to send which is granted to it by said central equipment and that it requests the maintaining of said right to send.
Abstract: A PLL comprises a PFD, a loop filter and a VCO, as well as a voltage shift capacitor coupling the PFD and the VCO. A voltage shift control circuit is placed in parallel with the voltage shift capacitor. This circuit comprises controlled charging means, which are designed to charge the voltage shift capacitor according to a channel control signal. It also comprises controlled pre-charging means which are designed to accelerate the charging of the voltage shift capacitor by the controlled charging means. It further comprises controlled biasing means, designed to ensure the bias of the input during the pre-charging of the voltage shift capacitor.
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for determining a global position of an anatomical structure. The system utilizes a surgical navigation system and a substrate that is capable of being removably mounted to an outer surface of a user's body. The substrate includes a positional device and a sensor that is tracked by the surgical navigation system. A finger mounted structure capable of communicating with the positional device is also provided. The concatenation of a position of the sensor and a position of the finger mounted structure allows a global position of a point on the anatomical structure to be determined by a computer system.
