Abstract: A portable liquid collection electrostatic collection precipitator for analyzing air is provided which is a relatively small, self-contained device. The device has a tubular collection electrode, a reservoir for a liquid, and a pump. The pump pumps the liquid into the collection electrode such that the liquid flows down the exterior of the collection electrode and is recirculated to the reservoir. An air intake is provided such that air to be analyzed flows through an ionization section to ionize analytes in the air, and then flows near the collection electrode where ionized analytes are collected. A portable power source is connected to the air intake and the collection electrode. Ionizable constituents in the air are ionized, attracted to the collection electrode, and precipitated in the liquid. The precipitator may also have an analyzer for the liquid and may have a transceiver allowing remote operation and data collection.

Abstract: A system for monitoring the amount of refrigerant supplied from a refrigerant tank to a plurality of refrigerant systems comprising a tank valve for connection to a refrigerant tank at a predetermined location. A rack of refrigerant rack lines is routed from the location to the refrigerant systems for connecting the tank valve and refrigerant to the refrigerant systems. Rack valves are disposed in the refrigerant rack lines for controlling the flow of refrigerant through the rack lines to a selected refrigerant system. A sensor for determining the amount of refrigerant supplied from the refrigerant tank to a refrigerant system and recording the supplied amount of refrigerant. The system controller controls the rack valves and tank valve to selectively connect the supply of refrigerant in the refrigerating tank with a selected refrigerant system so that the amount of refrigerant delivered to the refrigerant system is recorded by the system controller.

Abstract: A submergible activity platform for attachment to an associated structure on a body of water is disclosed. The activity platform for supporting persons engaged in water activities includes a platform area extending outwardly from and alongside the associated structure. A support structure is carried by the activity platform for mounting the activity platform to the associated structure so that the activity platform is located at a desired depth in the water when mounted to the associated structure. A walkway is included in for providing access between the associated structure and the activity platform when submerged. The activity platform includes a water activity section free of the walkway where water activities may take place. The activity platform also includes a plurality of water flow passages for allowing water to flow through the activity platform when submerged to reduce the force of water currents against the activity platform.
Abstract: This invention is directed to a system and method for creating characterization information from a first display device that can be transmitted and used by a second display device. Computer readable instructions embodied in a computer readable medium calibrate a first display device, create an ICC color profile from said calibration information, storing the ICC color profile and sending the ICC color profile to a second display device for it to use. The calibration or characterization information can also be associated with an image file and sent to a second location for display.

Abstract: There is disclosed an assembly for use in testing ball grid array devices, the assembly including a novel ball alignment plate. The ball alignment plate is a thin material having a pattern of holes precisely formed therethrough. The pattern of holes is formed to match the array pattern of the ball grid array. Use of the plate enables the quick and accurate positioning of a ball grid array device with respect to a testing circuit, and enables the use of a test assembly that can easily be adapted for use with different devices.
Abstract: A drop test apparatus for determining the resiliency of playing surface comprising a missile for impacting the surface including a guide for providing substantially unrestricted free flight of the missile, a pair accelerometers carried by the missile for producing signals in response to impact with the surface, a converter adapted to receive the accelerometer signals, convert them into computer readable signals and a computer receiving the signals from the converter and producing a graph of the surface hardness.
Abstract: A tunnel monitoring system for monitoring vehicles traveling through a tunnel having at least one vehicle traffic lane is disclosed comprising a plurality of ultrasonic sensors arranged in series in a longitudinal direction of the tunnel. The sensors have a detection zone covering a portion of the traffic lane for detecting the presence of a vehicle in the detection zone, and the ultrasonic sensors generate a vehicle sensor signal upon detecting a vehicle in the detection zone and a sensor identification signal identifying which sensor the sensor signal is transmitted from. The detection zones are projected and arranged in relation to the traffic lane to provide a generally continuous detection of the vehicles traveling though the tunnel. An evaluation unit receives the vehicle sensor signals and the sensor identification signals for monitoring traffic in the tunnel.
Abstract: A motorcycle wheel assembly comprising a brake hub rotatably mounted to a wheel axel. A brake disc is affixed to the brake hub rotating with the brake hub. A tire hub is rotatably carried by the brake hub carrying a tire for contacting a road surface to rotate the tire hub. A transfer gear is disposed between the tire hub and the brake hub for interconnecting the brake hub and tire hub. A center gear is carried by the brake hub for engaging the transfer gear, and a ring gear is carried by the tire hub for engaging the transfer gear so that rotation of the tire hub causes the transfer gear to counter-rotate the brake hub. Accordingly, counter-rotation of the brake disc carried by the brake hub creates a counter-rotational gyroscopic force that cancels out the gyroscopic force created by rotation of the motorcycle tire and tire hub.
Abstract: A portable ice making unit including a housing adapted for stacking with cargo containers for land or sea transport. The housing is also capable of being to be attached to the bed of an over land transporter. The ice making unit may be 100% self contained requiring no on site water or electric power. The ice making unit may dispense ice on call or on cash demand.
Abstract: The invention relates to a composite membrane (1) consisting of a flat support body (2) comprising relative big through flow holes (3) and on which at least one separating layer is applied as a membrane layer (4) having a given number of pores and pore sizes. In order to regulate the temperature of the support body, said support body (2) is connected to a device (5) that can be regulated by a regulating device (S) with the purpose of supplying a predetermined energy to the support body (2) and/or diverting energy from the support body (2). The membrane layer (4) is applied on the support body (2) in a heat-conductive manner so that any change in the temperature of the support body provokes a change in the temperature of the membrane layer.
