  • Patent number: 5299309
Abstract: A host computer, a graphics processor which receives and executes commands generated by the host computer, a display memory for storing display data, and a display device for displaying the display data are provided. A graphics context is also provided in which the parameters of a current image are stored. A processing unit for receiving and executing the graphics commands issued by the host computer and for converting the parameters stored in the graphics context into the display data, and a drawing unit for storing the display data in the display memory are also provided. Furthermore, a shared memory is provided which is directly accessible to the host computer so that it can write the parameters of a next graphics command into the shared memory while the graphics processor is executing a current command. The shared memory is also directly accessible to the graphics processor so that it can receive the parameters of the next graphics command to be executed directly from the shared memory.

  • Patent number: 5285280
Abstract: A system and process are disclosed for cancelling ghosts in a sampled, received video signal. An extraction circuit extracts a received ghost cancelling reference signal from a received video signal transmitted through a multipath channel. The received ghost cancelling reference signal and an ideal ghost cancelling reference signal are inputted to a digital signal processor. Therein, the digital signal processor computes a nearby ghost tap coefficient signal by dividing the autocorrelation of an ideal GCR signal by the cross-correlation of the ideal and received GCR signals. A band of this tap coefficient signal above the upper cutoff frequency of the received video signal is filled with a constant, non-zero value. The sampled, received video signal is then filtered in a transversal filter with the filled tap coefficient signal.

  • Patent number: 5282661
Abstract: A collapsible truck cab suitable for military use, especially by airborne combat units, comprises a box-like structure including side walls, side doors, a front wall, and a rear wall, each of which is divided into upper parts and lower parts, and a removable roof of high flexural and torsional stiffness. The upper parts of the wall panels are connected to the lower parts by hinges so that the cab can assume a collapsed position by removing the roof and swinging the upper parts down. A plurality of attachment elements, such as quick action latches, are distributed throughout the cab and are used to snap the wall panels and the roof together. Centering cones and centering troughs are also distributed on contact faces of the roof and the wall panels so that precise alignment of the parts is not required.

  • Patent number: 5268840
Abstract: A method and system for morphologizing written or printed texts, including Japanese texts are obtained in accordance to codes. The longest morphemes are divided one at a time from the characters in a sentence. This is achieved by forming the longest morpheme from the remaining characters in the sentence which is listed in a dictionary of valid morphemes and determining if it is conjunctive with the previously divided morpheme. To determine if a formed morpheme is conjunctive, associated pairs of front and back connection codes are retrieved. If a front connection code of one retrieved pair and a back connection code of a pair of connection codes of the previously divided morpheme are co-listed in a table of permissible relationships, the formed morpheme is conjunctive. If no character may be divided from the remaining characters in the sentence, a previously divided morpheme is redivided.

  • Patent number: 5267111
Abstract: In a voice coil motor having a voice coil, and a magnetic circuit which generates a magnetic flux traversing the voice coil; the magnetic circuit includes a yoke which is divided so as to form a plurality of magnetic paths traversing the voice coil and which is provided with hollows, and adjustment members which are inserted into the hollows so as to adjust the magnetic fluxes of the magnetic paths independently of one another.

  • Patent number: 5266956
Abstract: The distance between the target and the measurement means is segmented into adjacent distance compartments, the first one of which starts at the zero distance. Each distance compartment has an associated energy level obtained by the demodulation of the delay measurement signal resulting from the product of correlation between the emitted signal and the received signal reflected by the target. The disclosed method consists in creating two distinct aliasings of the spectrum of the signal measurement signal, the energy level of which corresponds to the first distance compartment, these aliasings being achieved on the part of the spectrum corresponding to negative distances. This two distinct aliasings make it possible to obtain two distinct energy levels on the totality of the first distance compartment, and thus enable the measurement of all the distances on this first distance compartment, including the very small distances, even almost zero distances, by comparisons and analyses of the two energy levels.

  • Patent number: 5262996
Abstract: A FIFO is formed from a plurality of modules each of which comprises a memory section and a control section. A FIFO of arbitrary size can be constructed simply by connecting a desired number of modules. The control section of each module is simple and efficient and enables a FIFO to be easily implemented as part of an integrated circuit. The control section of each module comprises four flip-flops for outputting a write pointer, a read pointer, an EMPTY* flag and a FULL* flag, which flags enable the control section of a module to determine if the FIFO as a whole is empty or full.

  • Patent number: 5250782
Abstract: A method for the closing, by laser, of packages of electronic circuits, notably hybrid circuit packages, said method minimizing mechanical stresses. The soldering is done along a soldering path on the lid of the package. The soldering path is divided into segments and two consecutive segments are never soldered one after the other. The method can be applied to the closing of large-sized hybrid packages.

  • Patent number: 5247202
Abstract: In an embodiment of the invention, a magnetic sensor comprises an IC magnetic flux sensor and two magnetic flux concentrators (18,19) which are each a section of a ferromagnetic lead frame. A section (18b) of a first magnetic flux concentrator (18), a semiconductor chip (4) and a section (19b) of a second magnetic flux concentrator create a sub-unit (18b;4;19b) having three sandwich like layers (I,II,III). A further section (18a) of first magnetic flux concentrator (18) is a sheet metal object having the shape of a single staircase-like step. The step exhibits a first surface section (22) and a second surface section (23) parallel thereto. One side of first surface section (22) is disposed on top of semiconductor chip (4) in the first layer (I). Second surface section (23) and semiconductor chip (4) are disposed in the second layer (II). A section (17) of a non-ferromagnetic lead frame mounting semiconductor chip (4) and the second magnetic flux concentrator (19) are disposed in the third layer (III).
