Patent number: 7056433Abstract: The present invention provides a gutter screen attachment for minimizing water film runoff and debris collection adjacent a screened gutter. The screen attachment comprises a superior breaker edge, an inferior breaker edge, and a screen-receiving region. The screen-receiving region comprises an edge-receiving fold that accepts the gutter-engaging edge of a gutter screen. The superior breaker edge extends upwardly opposite the inferior breaker edge and is designed to break the water tension of a water film formed upon the gutter screen. The inferior breaker edge is designed to prevent water leakage between the screen attachment and the gutter. The superior breaker edge is of minimized height so as to allow bulky debris to translate over the superior breaker edge. It is thus contemplated that the superior breaker edge functions to allow water to more properly permeate through the gutter screen.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2004Date of Patent: June 6, 2006Inventor: Kazimierz Swistun

Patent number: 6060006Abstract: A baluster or spindle is formed by a casting method, and has a rigid, dense, hollow outer shell forming a decoratively shaped body portion having closed, planar opposed ends. A conduit extends completely through the baluster, providing attachment means to a railing system. The hollow interior of the baluster is injected with a high density polyurethane foam to increase its weight, density, and resistance to breakage. The method of forming a baluster or spindle includes the combined method steps of placement of a mesh sheet adjacent each end of the mold, and then subsequent agitation of the mold. Agitation includes simultaneous spinning and rocking of the mold about its longitudinal axis. The mesh sheet retains the casting material against the end surfaces of the mold, and is completely encapsulated by the casting material such that the mesh sheet is not visible on the surface of the finished product.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 1999Date of Patent: May 9, 2000Inventor: Peter Savenok

Patent number: 6026672Abstract: The inventive pressure die holder is comprised of an elongate hollow steel cylinder which receives a series of dies in an interior cavity. The dies are maintained within the cavity by means of a cap which is attached to one end of the pressure die holder. The inventive pressure die holder is provided with two sets of vents which relieve lubricant pressure within the pressure die holder. The first set of vents are located in mid portion of the body of the pressure die holder in alignment with the dies. The first set of vents reduce pressure between the die pair, allowing the lubricant to flow through the die at a cooler temperature. The second set of vents are located in the body of the pressure die holder adjacent the cap, and allow the cap to be removed from the pressure die holder at the end of the drawing operation.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 1998Date of Patent: February 22, 2000Inventor: Thomas L.
