Abstract: An insert assembly is used in combination with a planter container for creating a false bottom therein. The assembly essentially comprises a support platform for supporting a soil-bound plant, an optional spacer member for supporting the support platform, and an optional moisture-receiving tray for collecting and retaining excess moisture emanating from the support platform and the spacer member via the soil. The platform comprises a peripheral support surface that engages either the container or the spacer member for supporting the support platform at the chosen false bottom level in the planter container. Support ribs are integrally formed to the platform to increase its load bearing potential. The spacer member may be utilized as an optional structure to adjust for variable container dimensions and the moisture-receiving tray may be installed at the user's election to maintain a moisture source in inferior adjacency to the support platform.

Abstract: An article support apparatus facilitates article interaction such as game play upon an oblong game table. The article or game support apparatus comprises a support plate, an anchor plate, and an article-positioning assembly extending therebetween. The article-positioning assembly may comprise a plate-extending assembly and a plate-rotating assembly. The plate-extending assembly functions to extend the game support plate away from the anchor plate. The anchor plate is of sufficient mass to interface the game support apparatus with a support surface and prevent the extended game support apparatus from tipping. The support plate functions to support an interactive article such as a gaming device or a common board game. The selected gaming device is supportable atop the game support plate and is thus extendable to separated player stations about the game support surface. The article or game support apparatus functions to enable game play in a spaced player setting.
Abstract: A networked system for enabling geographically-spaced common-brand users to publish locale-specific, content-controlled messages is provided. The networked system comprises an online publishing portal providing selective access to pre-constructed, digital, plate-ready macrotemplates. A dynamic document server stores the macrotemplates and authorizes selective access thereto based upon user-supplied credentials. The user, having authenticated credentials, may access a select macrotemplate, which necessarily comprises a plurality of digital, plate-ready microtemplates, including at least one restricted access template and at least one open access template. Authorized users may edit a select microtemplate as dictated by the user's level of authorization. The user may thus send the content-controlled digital, plate-ready file to a publisher for publishing information or messages compiled upon the macrotemplate.

Abstract: A picture-hanging device, method, and kit enable a user to effectively mark a select vertical location and quickly hang a picture at the select vertical location. The device comprises a hanger portion and a handle portion. The hanger portion comprises an anterior surface, an elongate hanger slot, and a hanger hook, all of which depend from the handle portion. The hanger slot extends through the hanger portion adjacent the end of the hanger portion. The hanger hook extends from the anterior surface and is designed to receive and support a picture-hanging cord and its load. The anterior surface comprises certain indicia for marking the select vertical location of a superior picture portion. Together with the hanger slot, the indicia enable the user to mark the select vertical location, after which the user may hang the picture at the select vertical location upon a fixed picture anchor.
Abstract: A hide-behind bunker system and kit for enabling a user to take cover behind at least one stand-alone, impact dampening structure. The system comprises at least one inflatable hide-behind structure cooperatively associated with an impact dampening anchor system. The hide-behind structure comprises an inferior bunker end, an opaque outer bunker surface, a matter-retaining inner bunker surface, and air inlet-outlet structure. The inner bunker surface defines an inner structure volume for receiving and retaining structure-erecting air. The impact dampening anchor system or assembly is attached to and extends outwardly from the outer bunker surface adjacent the inferior bunker end. The anchor system comprises at least three elastic link anchor assemblies, which assemblies each comprise a looped elastic member. The elastic member functions to absorb certain bodily impact when users collide therewith. The system and kit thus enable a user to take cover behind at least one stand-alone, impact dampening structure.
Abstract: The present invention provides a bird feeder apparatus for providing a readily available supply of feed for birds. The apparatus comprises a telescopic-operational assemblage, a shroud assembly, and a hopper assembly. The telescopic-operational assemblage provides a nonlinear, geometrically-based closure mechanism for effectively closing the bird feeder when a large load is placed upon the shroud assembly such as when a squirrel attempts to gain access to feed outlets of the hopper assembly by positioning itself upon the apparatus. Further, the apparatus provides a partitioned, selectively removable (drop out-type) hopper for enabling easy refills; a feed-level status flag assembly for indicating to the user whether the hopper assembly is full or empty; and at least one surround perch assembly for accommodating birds of various sizes.
Abstract: A vertically adjustable wall hanger device comprising a hanger and a hanger mount. The hanger comprises a main hanger body, a first set of serrations positioned in side-to-side spaced relation to one another on a back side of the main hanger body, and a center slot on the main hanger body and a hanging hook provided on the main hanger body. The hanger mount comprises a main mount body having a second set of serrations on a body face positioned in side-to-side spaced relation and sized and shaped similar and confronting the first set of serrations. The second set of serrations is located on a back side of the main hanger mount body with the hanger mount body having a screw hole confronting the center slot on the main hanger body. A center hanger mount is held in the main mount body positioned in co-axial alignment with the center slot provided in the main hanger body.
Abstract: The present invention provides a gutter screen attachment and a ridged filter assembly for minimizing water film runoff and debris collection adjacent a screened gutter. The screen attachment comprises a superior breaker edge, an inferior breaker edge, and a screen-receiving region. The superior breaker edge extends upwardly opposite the inferior breaker edge and is designed to break the water tension of a water film formed upon the gutter screen. The ridged filter assembly comprises a filter support grid, a filter screen and a ridge-forming member sandwiched between the filter support grid and the filter screen. The filter screen is form fit to the underlying structures and the ridge-forming member thus forms a water tension straining ridge upon the filter screen. The superior breaker edge and the filter screen ridge function to allow water to permeate through the gutter screen.
Abstract: The present invention provides a grounding bushing assembly essentially comprising a first bushing section, a second bushing section, select pivot structure, select latch structure, and select ground conductor attachment structure. The first bushing section, second bushing section, select pivot structure, select latch structure, and select ground conductor attachment structure are all preferably constructed from electrically conductive materials for allowing electric charges to migrate through the material. The first and second sections each comprise an arc length intermediate the section ends, which are lengths together function to cooperatively form an annular, dual-sectioned, grounding bushing. The resulting grounding bushing comprises an inner annular surface, an outer annular surface, a conductor inlet end, a conductor outlet end, and unique ground conductor attachment structure.
Abstract: This invention concerns a protective body vest/vest/jersey for protecting against impact upon a human torso when worn by an athlete during sporting activities. The invention comprises a multi-layered, one-piece garment comprising a vest/jersey sized and shaped to be worn on the torso of an athlete with a protective padding that can be customized by the wearer based on safety, comfort and athletic performance concerns. The invention further comprises a pair of shoulder portions with a fastening means therein for attaching or accommodating the attaching of a shoulder pad type object, an anterior portion, a pair of lateral portions and a posterior portion. The invention further either utilizes an offset opening or offset openings located off set from the medial line of a human torso to protect the heart, or is donned/removed in an over-the-head, pullover manner. The invention may further utilize an overlap or flap to cover and protect the region of the offset opening.

Abstract: The present invention provides a paint container accessory, which container accessory enables the user to simultaneously protect the annular groove or rim of a conventional paint container as well as the paint brush or implement used in connection therewith. The container accessory comprises a uniquely configured protective rim cover in combination with a painting implement receptacle. The rim cover retains the painting implement receptacle in adjacency to the paint container. The paint brush receptacle used in combination with the uniquely configured rim cover is formed from a material impervious to air and may be enclosed so that when painting implements are placed into the painting implement receptacle, the evaporative processes associated with drying paint process may be slowed. The rim cover is outfitted with structure to prevent horizontal or vertical shift when the rim cover is installed on the rim of a paint container.
Abstract: A magnetic device enables user to affix eyeglasses to articles of clothing worn by the user. The device comprises a strong pair of magnets, covered in a non-ferrous shell of various material compositions, each shell being fitted with two pliable, flexible rings for attachment to the eyeglass frames. The rings are made of flexible material so that they can be repeatedly bent or stretched, without fracturing, while the device is being fitted or removed form the eyeglass frames. The shells, when attached to each arm or temple support of the eyeglass frame, magnetically connect together when the eyeglass frames are in the closed position, forming a tight hold whenever the glasses are clasped together. The closed eyeglasses, in combination with the invention of the present invention, can then be easily and securely attached or retained to a belt, pocket, purse, or to an article of clothing.
Abstract: A matter-isolating system for use in combination with an underground storage tank assembly comprises primary and secondary spillage containment assemblies and a double-walled manhole assembly. The manhole assembly comprises a manhole lid, an outer skirt wall, and an inner skirt wall. The inner skirt wall defines an inner manhole cavity and an outer manhole channel. The outer manhole channel directs moisture from the lid to certain backfill material thus isolating the inner manhole cavity from channel-directed moisture. The spillage containment assemblies form concentric primary and secondary spillage-containing chambers in radial adjacency to a tank access conduit of the underground tank assembly. The inner manhole cavity functions to isolate the secondary spillage containment chamber from the outer manhole channel and the primary spillage containment chamber isolates the secondary spillage containment chamber from the tank access conduit.
Abstract: A device for aligning conduit. The device is positioned within a corrugated deck layer configured under a roof structure wherein the device comprises a box having a top, a front, a back and opposing sidewalls. The top includes bevel portions downwardly extending from the top to the sidewalls while the sidewalls vertically extend from the bevel portions to be positioned perpendicular with the top. The bevel portions are sized and shaped to nest within the corrugated deck layer. A pair of flanges is disposed in a common plane relative to one another and at right angles to the sidewalls below the bevel portions to extend outwardly from the bevel portions and the sidewalls wherein the flanges are sized and shaped to fasten the box to the corrugated deck layer. The invention further comprises a method of installing conduit free of offsets into the box.
Abstract: A ceramic composite body comprising sintered silicon carbide as major phase, dispersed boron nitride/carbon granules as minor phase, and the boron nitride/carbon granules comprise hexagonal phase boron nitride powders bonded together by glassy carbon. The composite body contains at least 3 weight percent of boron nitride, the average size of the boron nitride granules is greater than 10 micrometers, and the shape of majority of the granules is irregular. The composite body of high boron nitride loading can be further processed to improve mechanical and thermal properties by filling the porosity with glassy carbon, obtained from carbonizing glassy carbon precursor. The composite material exhibits superior thermal and tribological characteristics than monolithic silicon carbide.
Abstract: The present invention provides a black, chrome-free, multilayer corrosion protection finish designed to meet extended corrosion properties. This corrosion-resistant finish is engineered to meet a minimum of 500 salt spray testing hours to white corrosion, and 1500 salt spray testing hours to red corrosion when tested to ASTM B117 standards. It is also designed to comply with the European Union Directive on End of Life Vehicles. This multilayer system is designed for use on automotive body sheet steel, automotive underbody parts, automotive under-hood parts, and some automotive interior parts specifying a gloss requirement greater than 4. This chrome-free, multilayer finish is a combination of a zinc-iron electroplated substrate, a non-electrolytic phosphate crystal conversion layer using orthophosphoric acid, and a Xylan/Teflon fluorocarbon sealer coating to form a three layer total corrosion protection system.
Abstract: Adjustable weight training belt for use with a baseball bat comprising a first layer of flexible material and a hook and loop fastening system. The hook portion of the fastening system connected to one face and the loop portion of the fastening system on the other face, the fastening system being adjustable to adjust the area encircled by the belt. A second layer of flexible material connected to the first layer forming a plurality of pockets between the a face of the first layer and a face of the second layer. A face of the second layer has a high coefficient of friction to resist movement of the belt when placed about the barrel of a baseball bat. A plurality of malleable weights engaged in the pockets, the weights formed to the curved surface of the barrel creating a substantially similar surface profile contributing to the resistance of movement.
