  • Patent number: 7419644
Abstract: A flow directing insert for a reactor chamber in a reactor may have a mainly square-shaped cross-section. The chamber has an inlet at one end of the chamber and an outlet at the other end of the chamber and at least one of the walls of the reactor chamber consists of a heat conductive material or of a membrane. The insert comprises a number of units arranged in rows, which units together with the walls of the chamber define a channel for a fluid. The channel extends from a first side of the chamber to a second side of the chamber and back again to the first side backwards and forwards a number of times. The units are arranged such that the fluid is forced to flow between the units in a serpentine path. A reactor comprises at least one reactor chamber containing a flow directing insert as described above.

  • Patent number: 7409767
Abstract: According to one aspect of the present invention, a razor handle includes a first handle and a removable cap. The first handle portion includes a first molded portion, a second molded portion, and a cavity. A removable cap includes a first molded cap portion and a second molded cap portion. The second molded cap portion forms a sealing ring on the removable cap. The removable cap is selectively detachable to the first handle portion. The sealing ring, when the removable cap is attached to the first handle portion, forms a seal between the removable cap and the first handle portion, preventing water from entering the cavity during normal shaving. Preferably, the first molded cap portion and the first molded portion of the first handle portion are formed simultaneously. Likewise, the second molded cap portion and the second molded portion of the first handle portion are preferably formed simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 7410456
Abstract: In a centrifugal separator the liquid separation aid attracts/binds contaminating particles in oil supplied to a separation chamber. Purified oil is discharged through a central light phase outlet of the separation chamber, the liquid separation aid and separated particles are discharged through a heavy phase outlet. Purification is carried through using a starting liquid, supplied to the separation chamber to form a layer that creates a liquid seal in the centrifugal rotor, covering said heavy phase outlet. Contaminated oil and liquid separation aid are supplied to the separation chamber. While purified oil leaves the separation chamber through the light phase outlet, at starting liquid and liquid separation aid together with particles are discharged through the heavy phase outlet.

  • Patent number: 7387320
Abstract: A pressure relief cap for a water supply comprises an outer portion defining a front face for generally covering an outlet of the supply. The outer portion includes a seal for being urged against and sealingly engaging a periphery of the outlet. An inner portion includes a connector for coupling and decoupling to an outlet. The inner portion is rotatably coupled to the outer portion such that upon at least partial rotation of the outer portion in a first direction relative to the inner portion the seal is moved axially inwardly relative to the inner portion from a disengaged position to an engaged position to sealingly engage a periphery of an outlet, and upon at least partial rotation of the outer portion in an opposite direction the seal is moved axially outwardly from the engaged position to the disengaged position to thereby permit back pressure within an outlet to vent.

  • Patent number: 7385320
Abstract: A step motor includes a rotor having four magnetic poles, a first magnetic pole magnetically excited by a first coil, a second magnetic pole magnetically excited by a second coil, and a third magnetic pole magnetically excited by the first coil and the second coil. A gap between the third magnetic pole and the rotor is smaller than that between the first magnetic pole and the rotor and that between the second magnetic pole and the rotor. In the step motor, it is possible to intensify the influence, on the rotor having four poles, of the magnetic fields created from three magnetic poles. Accordingly, this can weaken the magnetic fields set up from the first magnetic pole and the second magnetic pole, which tend to intensify the influence on the rotor, enabling the torque smaller at the time of the rotation start of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 7378124
Abstract: A light active device includes a semiconductor particulate dispersed within a carrier material. A first contact layer is provided so on application of an electric field charge carriers having a polarity are injected into the semiconductor particulate through the carrier material. A second contact layer is provided so on application of the electric field to the second contact layer charge carriers having an opposite polarity are injected into the semiconductor particulate through the carrier material. The semiconductor particulate comprises at least one of an organic and an inorganic semiconductor. The semiconductor particulate may comprise an organic light active particulate. When constructed as a light emitting device, an electric field applied to the semiconductor particulate through the carrier causes charge carriers of opposite polarity to be injected into the semiconductor particulate. The charge carriers combine to form carrier pairs which decay and give off light.
