  • Patent number: 6152263
Abstract: A scaffold comprises a construction assembly and a frame that is provided with a foot. The foot is in an embodiment provided with a stepped opening, a first part of which is limited by a wall which forms a supporting surface with which the frame rests on a construction member of the construction assembly when being assembled. The stepped opening comprises further a second part that lies deeper in which the construction member is situated when assembled. When coupling the frame to the construction assembly the frame is placed at an angle to the construction member. The frame is then tilted up into a vertical position in which the frame rests with its supporting surface on the construction member and pivots on the construction member. In an embodiment the foot is then moved horizontally where the supporting surface is freed from the construction member as a result of which the frame moves downwards with respect to the construction member and coupling is effected.

  • Patent number: 6146530
Abstract: Particles of paint overspray present in floating, and in dispersed form, as well as in submerged and coagulated form are removed from an aqueous turbid liquid. The dispersed and submerged particles of paint overspray form sediment and the sediment is then removed. The sediment is allowed to settle out of a quiescent, turbid liquid onto the bottom of a first tank, whereas the floating particles remain on the surface of the turbid liquid. The sediment is flushed into a second tank by lowering the surface level of the turbid liquid and is then concentrated in this second tank. The surface level of the turbid liquid is then raised and the turbid liquid is allowed to overflow across a flow edge in such a way that the floating particles of the paint overspray are floated off. The turbid liquid, such as turbid water that has been cleansed is drained off.

  • Patent number: 6136124
Abstract: A process for producing a structured, voluminous nonwowen comprises the following steps: (a) a spun nonwoven is produced from a plurality of individual filaments which are stretched and gathered into a skein of fibers; (b) the skein is pressed and not-bonded into a crude nonwoven (12) through a first pair of rollers (9a, b); and (c) the crude nonwoven is further processed through a second pair of rollers (10a, b). The process is characterized in that the individual filaments are initially stretched merely up to a range from 50 to 70% of their maximum possible extension, and in that the crude nonwoven (12) is further processed through a pair of rollers (10a, b) composed of a positive roller (10a) with numerous nops or elevations (11) distributed over the outer surface of the roller and of a negative roller (10) with just as numerous recesses or depressions (12). During rolling, the nops engage the recesses and further stretch the crude non-woven in the area of the roller nops.

  • Patent number: 6136368
Abstract: A residue in the distillation of crude fatty acids is used as a food for crustaceans. The fatty acids utilized in the distillation are obtained from hydrolysis of natural, chiefly animal, fats. Sterols have a higher boiling point than the fatty acids and are therefore not distilled. This gives the residue a much higher cholesterol content than the fatty acids and makes it eminently suitable as feed for crustaceans. The residue can be used directly as feed for crustaceans or first a carrier of protein and/or silicate can be added to the residue, with preferably lecithin also being added to the residue.

  • Patent number: 6107910
Abstract: An enhanced backscatter RF-ID tag reader system and multiprotocol RF tag reader system is provided. In a multiprotocol mode, the system emits a non-stationary interrogation signal, and decodes a phase modulated backscatter signal by detecting a stronger phase component from quadrature phase representations or determining phase transition edges in a phase of a received signal. The RF tag reader system predicts or follows the phase of the backscatter signal, thereby avoiding interference from nulls in the received signal waveform due to the non-stationary interrogation signal, relative movement or environmental effects. An acoustic RF-ID tag detection system detects the reradiated signal corresponding to respective transformation of a signal in the tag. Detection of either type of RF-ID tags therefore is possible, and the absence of any tag or absence of any valid tag also determined.
