  • Patent number: 6390126
Abstract: A coupling device, having a simple structure, prevents leakage of fluid from an auxiliary valve in a female coupler. The coupling device seals fluid containing air in the female coupler, even in the pressure of the fluid remains or is as low as the ambient pressure level when the male coupler is separated from the female coupler. An annular seal, having integrally formed first and second annular seal elements, is provided in the female coupler. The first annular seal seals between a protruded cylindrical member of the male coupler and a mating cylindrical member of the female coupler. The second annular seal forms a valve body portion of the cylindrical member of the female coupler.

  • Patent number: 6379197
Abstract: An insulative circuit board receives a forged terminal and a simplified terminal plate, inserted through a through hole and guided by insertion slots, to form a complete terminal connector. The terminal plate firmly fixes to the insulative circuit board by locking into integrally formed locking steps. The terminal is retained by the snap-in terminal plate. and preventive elements formed integrally with the circuit board. Preventive elements prevent unexpected disassembly when the terminal and the terminal plate loose threaded engagement and eliminates the need for after-integration processing. A guiding element, integral with the terminal, guides the terminal into threaded engagement with the terminal plate. The guiding element also prevents damage to a terminal plate screw hole and speeds assembly.

  • Patent number: 6378694
Abstract: A rotation detection device is provided in a motor roller of a conveying apparatus to detect changes in the rotation speed of the motor roller. When an object is moved from an upstream location of a conveyance path to the motor roller having the rotation detection device, the rotation detection device detects the presence of the object by measuring the slight variation in rotation speed of the motor roller. A control unit is provided to monitor the output signals from a plurality of rotation detection devices, arranged along the conveyance path. The control device independently adjusts the conveyance speeds of a plurality of independent conveyance portions along the conveyance path based upon these output signals. This system allows conveyance of a plurality of objects along the conveyance while avoiding one object from running into another object due to, for example, a delay at a particular point along the conveyance path.

  • Patent number: 6364244
Abstract: The severed trailing edge of a two-ply web is spliced to a leading edge of a replacement web on a replacement roll in a two-part operation which permits on-the-fly splicing. The upper ply of the replacement web is trimmed back to reveal a strip of the lower ply. A splice tape is placed under the edge of the lower ply with a portion of the splice tape exposed. A splice roll is prepared with a splice sheet having first and second adhesive strips spaced apart on it. The replacement roll and splice roll are accelerated to synchronize their peripheral speeds with the web speed. The rotational phases of the replacement roll and splice roll are coordinated. A bump roll is triggered to urge the web against the replacement roll. A cut-off knife is triggered to sever the web. The bump roll and cut-off knife trigger are timed so that the trailing edge of the severed web falls into contact with the exposed portion of the splice tape. This splices the lower plies together.

  • Patent number: 6357411
Abstract: Branching pipes connect a surge tank to an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. The branching pipes are made such that each gas column of the internal combustion receives a uniform intake volume. This is achieved by either making each branching pipe of the same length, or by adjusting the inside diameters of the branching pipes, thereby creating a flow delay of the intake into the gas columns, resulting in uniform intake volume. The inside diameters of the branching pipes are either made uniformly of a different diameter, or, alternatively, the inside diameters of the branching pipes include throttles for reducing the diameter of the branching pipe at a localized portion. In both cases, a flow delay of the intake into the gas columns is compensated, resulting in a uniform intake volume.

  • Patent number: 6358652
Abstract: A fluorescent conversion filter suppresses decomposition and quenching of fluorescent dyes or pigments. An organic light-emitting device may be equipped with such a fluorescent conversion filter. The fluorescent conversion filter is formed by coating with a coating material, followed by patterning by photolithography.
