A method of starting operation of the fuel cell system includes the steps of connecting a bypass line connected to a battery for bypassing the DC/DC converter to the power feeding circuit, and directly supplying electrical energy from the battery to an air compressor of an oxygen-containing gas supply apparatus through the bypass line in a state where the fuel cell is disconnected from the power feeding circuit.
Abstract: The present invention relates, in general, to a system for analyzing tissue perfusion using the concentration of indocyanine green and a method of measuring the perfusion rate using the system and, more particularly, to a system for measuring tissue perfusion by injecting indocyanine green into a living body, detecting variation in the concentration of indocyanine green with the passage of time, and analyzing the detected variation, and a method of measuring the perfusion rate using the system. The present invention provides a method of measuring perfusion in a living body, which enables accurate measurement for respective regions in a wide range from a perfusion rate decreased to less than 10% of normal perfusion to a perfusion rate increased to greater than normal perfusion using the above-described mechanism of ICG in a living body, which cannot be conducted using the conventional technology.

Abstract: A programming element is provided that defines model attributes in response to mode change events in a graphical modeling environment. Such definition may involve any signal attribute such as dimensions, data types, complexity and sample times. Events that trigger definition of model attributes may be explicit signaling events generated by other elements, elements within the block diagram programming environment, and elements external from the environment. Implicit events may also trigger definition of model attributes, such as a change of attribute in an input signal.

The pulser is associated with the flow meter for generating pulser data indicative of a volume of fluid delivered through the flow meter. The pulser may alter the pulser data using correction data stored in its memory to generate altered pulser data. The pulser may store at least one of the pulser data and the altered pulser data in the memory. The apparatus further comprises a switch operatively connected to the pulser's memory. The switch is operative to vary the memory of the pulser between a write-protected and a write-enabled mode. Also, the apparatus comprises a controller in communication with the pulser and a serial communication circuit which enables communication between the pulser and the controller. Communication between the controller and the pulser includes the identifier.

Abstract: A fuel dispenser comprises fuel dispensing apparatus mounted within a housing and a nozzle for dispensing fuel. The fuel dispensing apparatus includes control electronics and at least one touch display mounted in the housing and operatively coupled to the control electronics. The touch display is configured to allow a user to make selections for conducting a transaction. A camera or other suitable proximity detector is configured to detect the presence of a user and whether the user exceeds a height threshold without the user physically touching the fuel dispenser. In response to detecting the presence of the user, the fuel dispenser control electronics activates the display so that instructions are presented to the user in a first orientation or a second orientation depending on whether the user's height exceeds the threshold.
Abstract: A steering head for use with an auger and a casing engaged to the auger, the steering head comprising: a generally cylindrical body having a first body end and a second body end mountable to the casing, a bore channel concentrically received in the body, a front lip, a rear lip, a body surface, and a lead edge; an outer tube having an internal side covering the body surface and an opposing external side; a steering flap disposed on the external side of the outer tube having a first flap face and a second flap face, a distal end, and a hinge end, the steering flap disposable in a retracted position and an extended position; a biased hinge operative to retract the steering flap into the retracted position; and a powered actuator operative to extend the first flap face into the extended position.
Abstract: A viewer tool for viewing data in a software environment provides features for viewing and exploring a data set. The data set may be a multi-dimensional data set. The viewer tool may be coupled to a test environment that generates data from the tests of a unit under test (UUT). The data may be generated from one or more sequences of tests that can be divided into batches. The viewer tool may receive the data from the test environment and analyze the data to provide a user with useful information on the data. The viewer tool may display the data with the information so that the user can obtain the information on the data. In particular, the viewer tool identifies the relationship between the measured test data and the various test conditions under which the test data has been measured.

Abstract: A user authentication method and apparatus using a face image are provided. The method includes transforming a face image in a normalized spatial domain into frequency-domain data, extracting valid transform coefficients from the frequency-domain data based on energy-concentrated region information, extracting a feature vector from the extracted valid transform coefficients, and performing user authentication by comparing the extracted feature vector with a previously registered feature vector. Accordingly, it is possible to perform user authentication using a face image while using a minimum data dimension, thereby improving the speed and precision thereof.

Abstract: In a cell voltage detecting system detecting cell voltages of a fuel cell connected in series, a voltage detector detects cell voltages. An auxiliary power supply generates a voltage equal to or greater than a minimum voltage for driving the voltage detector at positive and negative terminals thereof. First and second diodes are connected to a positive drive terminal of the voltage detector to supply the power to the drive terminal of the voltage detector from a high voltage side between the fuel cell or the auxiliary power supply. A negative terminal of the fuel cell, the negative drive terminal, and the negative terminal of the auxiliary power supply are connected to have a same potential. A method of maintaining a drive voltage for the voltage detector is also disclosed in which the drive voltage for the voltage detector is supplied from the high voltage side.
