  • Patent number: 6055849
Abstract: A metal oxide semiconductor gas sensor S is connected to a ladder resistance R, and the output voltage is subjected to logarithmic transformation at plural points on a waveform of temperature change byLnR=2-4 V R1/Vc+LnR1 (1)where R indicating the resistance of the metal oxide semiconductor, V R1 the output voltage to the ladder resistance, Vc the detecting voltage, R1 the resistance of the ladder resistance, and Ln natural logarithm, respectively. Standard signals comprising logarithms of resistance values of the metal oxide semiconductor in plural concentrations and at plural points on the waveform are stored in the EEPROM, and these standard signals and logarithms obtained are compared with each other to detect the gas.

  • Patent number: 6054861
Abstract: A micro discharge detection current which is obtained by reducing a discharge current of a battery at a predetermined ratio is detected by a current amplifying circuit and an integration voltage showing a discharge charge amount is formed by charging a capacitor of an integrating circuit. The integration voltage of the integrating circuit is compared with a reference voltage showing a predetermined unit charge amount by a comparing circuit. When the integration voltage reaches the reference voltage, a comparison output is inverted and the capacitor of the integrating circuit is discharge reset and one pulse signal showing the unit charge amount is generated by the inversion of the comparison output. The pulse signal from the comparing circuit is counted by a counter and the count value is multiplied with the unit charge amount, thereby obtaining the present discharge charge amount of the battery.

  • Patent number: 6050186
Abstract: For moistening a water roller in contact with a planographic printing plate on a plate cylinder in an offset printing press, a sprayer produces a more or less flat spray of dampening water. Baffles are positioned in front of the sprayer to define an aperture through which the spray travels before hitting the water roller. The aperture has a width shorter than the longer dimension of the cross section of the spray as measured in a plane containing the aperture, and longer than the shorter dimension of the cross section of the spray in the same plane. Thus the rate at which the dampening water is supplied to the water roller is infinitely variable by changing the angular position of the spray relative to the aperture between a minimum dampening position where the spray has the opposite longitudinal end portions of its cross section interrupted to the utmost by the baffle means and a maximum dampening position where the spray is allowed wholly through the aperture.

  • Patent number: 6052314
Abstract: An EEPROM device has an array of memory cells composed of nonvolatile data-storage elements that allow electrical writing and erasing of data. The array of memory cells is provided with an area for storing data representing the length of writing time for which the writing and erasing of data are performed. The writing-time data is read out from this area and held in a latch circuit. The latched data is used as the target count up to which a counter counts a clock. The counter starts counting in response to a start signal and stops counting when the actual count reaches the target count. The counter, while it is counting, outputs a high-level signal, which determines the length of writing time for which writing is performed in the memory cells.

  • Patent number: 6047569
Abstract: Compound needles, each comprising a needle proper having a hook at the top end thereof and a slider including two thin plates put together are arranged in a pair of needle beds, and the needle proper and the slider of each compound needle can be moved forward and backward independently of each other. The needle proper of the compound needle of the first bed is moved forward into the trick gap. Then the slider is removed forward further to move the stitch loop from the hood of the needle proper onto the tongue of the slider. Both the hook and tongue of the compound needle of the second bed are inserted into the stitch loop being kept on the tongue of the slider of the first bed. Then the slider of the compound needle of the first bed is moved backward to deliver the stitch loop onto the tongue of the slider of the second bed.

  • Patent number: 6049493
Abstract: During a precharging period, first a bit line is precharged to a first potential and a sense amplifier is precharged to a second potential. Then, the bit line and the sense amplifier are connected together thorough a bit line transfer gate, and the precharge potential at the bit line is set to a third potential in accordance with a ratio of their capacitances. Following this, a word line is rendered active to connect a memory cell to the bit line. In accordance with the potential in the memory cell, a minute voltage is generated to the bit line, and the sense amplifier detects the minute voltage and amplifies it. Since the first and the second potentials differ from each other, the third potential can be an intermediate potential nearer the first potential. For example, when the first potential is set to a ground potential and the second potential is set to one available at a high potential power source, the third potential is set to shift toward the ground potential from half the power source potential.

  • Patent number: 6047570
Abstract: A yarn feeding system of a flat knitting machine having needle beds. Each needle bed having a plurality of needles. A plurality of yarn carrier rails extend in parallel to the needle beds in a longitudinal direction of the needle beds. A cam carriage reciprocates over the needle beds while yarn carriers caught/released by a yarn carrier catcher mounted on the cam carriage travels on a yarn carrier rail to feed yarn to the needles of the needle beds. The yarn feeding system has shifting members that extend along and in the longitudinal direction of the yarm carrier rails. A shifter reciprocally shifts the shifting members in the longitudinal direction of the yarn carriers. An engager engages the yarn carriers to the shifting members such that the yarn carriers are disengaged and released from the shifting members when catching and carrying is affected by the catcher.
