  • Patent number: 8321913
Abstract: The present invention relates to authenticating a mobile device using logical location information associated with the device which provides an indication of the proximity of the device to other devices. The present invention provides a mechanism for authenticating a mobile device based on location related information or a “logical location”, but without requiring an actual location. The mobile user device identifies or discovers other devices, using direct wireless communication, within its vicinity and forwards this information to the authenticating authority. If this information matches previous or otherwise predetermined information, then the device is authenticated.

  • Patent number: 8315123
Abstract: A memory circuit 2 includes bit cells 4 selected for reading with a word line voltage upon a word line 20. Word line voltage control circuitry 26 generates a two-step word line voltage signal. The word line voltage first increases to an intermediate level at which word line transistors 12 weakly couple the bit cell 4 to the bit lines 8. This intermediate level is maintained for a first delay period. After the first delay period, the word line voltage is increased to a full rail value and this full rail value maintained for a second delay period. The word line voltage is then returned to a low level at the end of the read operation. This two-step word line voltage signal provides a better access disturb margin for the bit cell 4.

  • Patent number: 8315632
Abstract: Position determination assisting data is provided for performing position determinations based on this assisting data. The position determination assisting data comprises area definitions, each of which being related at least to a respective cell relation configuration. The cell relation configuration is determined at least by cell-IDs of cells fulfilling a specific radio condition criterion when received. Preferably, the cell relation configuration is also dependent on relative radio conditions between different cells and/or transmission mode. The area definitions are in particular example embodiments polygons, which preferably are re-calculated successively, automatically and on-line. The recalculations are based on high-precision position measurements of opportunity, clustered at least with respect to prevailing cell relation configuration for that user equipment performing the high-precision position measurements. Preferably, the area definitions are calculated with a predefined confidence level.

  • Patent number: 8315940
Abstract: Latency in electronic trading is dramatically reduced by delaying trade order validation until a match or trade can potentially occur. If a new order does not meet the matching criteria for an existing order in an order book, then the new order is stored in the order book without performing validation processing in a first example embodiment. In a second example embodiment, the order is stored in the order book before validation has completed. But if a new order meets matching criteria for an existing order stored in an order book, then order validation processing is performed for both of the matching orders. Once the order validation processing is successfully completed for both of the matching orders, then the trade is executed. Order validation processing includes both risk calculations and account validations, (e.g., checking to ensure the party has the necessary money or collateral if a buyer or is the owner if a seller).

  • Patent number: 8313620
Abstract: Certain example embodiments of this invention relate to techniques for making a coated article including a transparent conductive indium-tin-oxide (ITO) film supported by a heat treated glass substrate. A substantially sub-oxidized ITO or metallic indium-tin (InSn) film is sputter-deposited onto a glass substrate at room temperature. The glass substrate with the as-deposited film thereon is subjected to elevated temperatures. Thermal tempering or heat strengthening causes the as-deposited film to be transformed into a crystalline transparent conductive ITO film. Advantageously, this may reduce the cost of touch panel assemblies, e.g., because of the higher rates of the ITO deposition in the metallic mode. The cost of touch-panel assemblies may be further reduced through the use of float glass.

  • Patent number: 8313376
Abstract: Reference point calculation means calculates a reference point with respect to a reference axis direction, the reference point being a center position based on positions of a plurality of objects and the reference axis direction being a predetermined axis direction of a display area. First determination means determines whether or not a position of the reference point is a position within a first distance from an end of the display area with respect to the reference axis direction. When the first determination means determines that the position of the reference point is within the first distance from the end of the display area, screen control means scrolls, along the reference axis direction, a display content of a virtual space displayed in the display area.

  • Patent number: 8315634
Abstract: A method of alternative routing of a service request in connection with a pool 1 of integrated core network nodes. Before a serving radio access node routes a service request to the core network node serving a mobile station it checks if there are any idle terrestrial transmission resources available between the serving radio access node and the serving core network node. If idle resources are available, the service request is routed to the serving core network node. If no idle resources are available, the service request is rerouted to a selected one of the other core network nodes the pool that has idle resources available. The selected core network node receives the service request, recognizes it contains no temporary identification (TMSI) number associated with it and therefore sends an identity request to the mobile station. The identity request triggers the mobile station initiate an update location registration at the selected core network node or at any of the other core network nodes in the pool.
