Patent number: 8315634Abstract: A method of alternative routing of a service request in connection with a pool 1 of integrated core network nodes. Before a serving radio access node routes a service request to the core network node serving a mobile station it checks if there are any idle terrestrial transmission resources available between the serving radio access node and the serving core network node. If idle resources are available, the service request is routed to the serving core network node. If no idle resources are available, the service request is rerouted to a selected one of the other core network nodes the pool that has idle resources available. The selected core network node receives the service request, recognizes it contains no temporary identification (TMSI) number associated with it and therefore sends an identity request to the mobile station. The identity request triggers the mobile station initiate an update location registration at the selected core network node or at any of the other core network nodes in the pool.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2004Date of Patent: November 20, 2012Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventor: Pär Gustavsson

Patent number: 8313620Abstract: Certain example embodiments of this invention relate to techniques for making a coated article including a transparent conductive indium-tin-oxide (ITO) film supported by a heat treated glass substrate. A substantially sub-oxidized ITO or metallic indium-tin (InSn) film is sputter-deposited onto a glass substrate at room temperature. The glass substrate with the as-deposited film thereon is subjected to elevated temperatures. Thermal tempering or heat strengthening causes the as-deposited film to be transformed into a crystalline transparent conductive ITO film. Advantageously, this may reduce the cost of touch panel assemblies, e.g., because of the higher rates of the ITO deposition in the metallic mode. The cost of touch-panel assemblies may be further reduced through the use of float glass.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2011Date of Patent: November 20, 2012Assignee: Guardian Industries Corp.Inventor: Alexey Krasnov

Patent number: 8315632Abstract: Position determination assisting data is provided for performing position determinations based on this assisting data. The position determination assisting data comprises area definitions, each of which being related at least to a respective cell relation configuration. The cell relation configuration is determined at least by cell-IDs of cells fulfilling a specific radio condition criterion when received. Preferably, the cell relation configuration is also dependent on relative radio conditions between different cells and/or transmission mode. The area definitions are in particular example embodiments polygons, which preferably are re-calculated successively, automatically and on-line. The recalculations are based on high-precision position measurements of opportunity, clustered at least with respect to prevailing cell relation configuration for that user equipment performing the high-precision position measurements. Preferably, the area definitions are calculated with a predefined confidence level.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2005Date of Patent: November 20, 2012Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventor: Torbjörn Wigren

Patent number: 8309079Abstract: Laminitis is defined as an inflammation of the sensitive laminae of the hoof, especially in horses. It has been surprisingly found that fructanases such as 2,1-?-D-fructan hydrolase are highly effective as therapeutic and prophylactic agents against laminitis in horses. The fructanases may be used as enzyme compositions in horse feed, as additives for horse feed or as oral preparations for the therapy and prophylaxis of laminitis. Because of its effectiveness in hydrolyzing fructans, which seem to play an important role in the aetiology of laminitis, the administration of fructanases in combination with an increased intake of fructans or with an increased availability of fructans is particularly advantageous.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2006Date of Patent: November 13, 2012Assignee: DSM IP Assets B.V.Inventors: Jeppe Wegener Tams, Petra Philipps

Patent number: 8310546Abstract: An image processing apparatus communicates with an image acquisition apparatus provided with an image acquisition region comprising light-shielded pixels and effective pixels. Data of an image are acquired based on output signals from the effective pixels. An edge of an object is extracted in the acquired image data using a preset edge threshold, and the object is recognized based on the extracted edge. Output signals are acquired from the light-shielded pixels and a degree of variations in noise contained in the output signals from the effective pixels is estimated based on the output signals acquired. The edge threshold is set based on the degree of variations in noise which is estimated, such that the noise having a level which exceeds the edge threshold occurs at a probability lower than a preset value.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2009Date of Patent: November 13, 2012Assignee: Denso CorporationInventor: Takayuki Kimura

Patent number: 8311768Abstract: A step count measuring system includes a pedometer and a step count managing apparatus which are able to communicate with each other. In the pedometer, a step count value sequentially detected for each unit of time is stored, and a time counted in the pedometer is stored as first time data by being brought into associated with each of the step count values. When a battery is replaced in the pedometer, a reset is executed to start initialization processing, and the time stored as first time data is stored as second time data which can be discriminated from the first time data. A recording time of each of the step count values being associated with the first time data before the initialization processing is set on the basis of the time counted by the step count managing apparatus, and a recording time of each of the step count values being associated with the second time data after the initialization processing is set on the basis of the second time data.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2009Date of Patent: November 13, 2012Assignees: Nintendo Co., Ltd., Creatures Inc.Inventors: Hideaki Fukutome, Naoya Morimura, Hirofumi Matsuoka

Patent number: 8310369Abstract: Water is conserved by detecting unintended inflow of water into the tank of a flush toilet. A sensor acoustically and/or vibrationally coupled to the flush toilet detects sound and/or vibration generated due to turbulence in water flowing into the toilet tank. An electronic circuit analyzes the sensor output to detect cyclical water inflow not intended by a user. The electronic circuit generates an alert such as an audible and/or visual indication that the toilet is leaking.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2010Date of Patent: November 13, 2012Assignee: nth Solutions, LLCInventors: Eric L. Patent number: 8311612Abstract: The technology herein provides a dark blood delayed enhancement technique that improves the visualization of subendocardial infarcts that may otherwise be disguised by the bright blood pool. The timed combination of a slice-selective and a non-selective preparation improves the infarct/blood contrast by decoupling their relaxation curves thereby nulling both the blood and the non-infarcted myocardium. This causes the infarct to be imaged bright and the blood and non-infarct to both be imaged dark. The slice-selective preparation occurs early enough in the cardiac cycle so that fresh blood can enter the imaged slice.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2011Date of Patent: November 13, 2012Assignee: Duke UniversityInventors: Wolfgang Rehwald, Michael Salerno

Patent number: 8311690Abstract: A charging system provided for vehicles prevents theft of a charging cable, insertion of foreign matter into a vehicle-side receptacle, or tampering when an onboard battery usable for running power is charged from a household power supply. A cable connector of the charging cable is opposed to the vehicle-side receptacle in a connecting part to prepare for charging. When a PHV is exited, a switching command switching from an unlocked state of a door locking mechanism to a locked state is inputted to a PHV ECU responsive to an inputting manipulation performed on a key or door key sensor. The PHV ECU allows the door locking mechanism to switch from the unlocked state to the locked state. The PHV ECU allows locking mechanisms to switch from the unlocked states to the locked states in the manner interlocked with the switching action of the door locking mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2008Date of Patent: November 13, 2012Assignee: Denso CorporationInventor: Yasuhiro Tanaka
