Abstract: The present invention is a method and system for investing with a no or low-loss assurance the aid of an agent. The invention provides a plurality of risk levels having a gain apportionment value and a lost apportionment value. The gain apportionment value dictates the apportionment of a gain between the investor and the agent, while the lost apportionment value dictates the apportionment of a loss between the investor and the agent. Each risk level also has a gain sale threshold and a loss sale threshold. The investor selects one of the risk levels. When one of the sale thresholds is reached, the equity is sold to complete a cycle or transaction of a combo, or combination of transactions. The investor's apportioned gain is added to an investor's money packet thereby increasing its value. A loss sale threshold ends the combo.
Abstract: A metal rod-shaped element for a liquid detecting device is essentially cylindrical and has first and second ends. In at least one length, starting from the second end, the element has an isolating coating and an electrode strip is provided which extends along a longitudinal axis of the element. The electrode strip is not electrically connected to the element and the strip comprises a high impedance material. Two flattened sections are provided where the metal of the element lies openly. In a cross sectional view the electrode strip is situated between the two flattened sections. A first contact mechanism is provided in order to establish, in the range of the first end, an electrical contact to the rod-shaped element, and a second contact mechanism is provided in order to establish, within the range of the first end, an electrical contact to the electrode strip.

Abstract: A camera assembly for filming the hands of a musician playing a finger board instrument includes a guiding device mounted to the finger board instrument. A stage movably engages the guiding device. A camera is mounted on the stage for filming the hands of the fingerboard user as the hands travel along the finger board. A driving device, such as a linear motor, is connected to the stage for moving the stage along the guiding device. A means for controlling the camera is also provided, either manually from a remote location or by visual tracking. A sensor senses the velocity and position of the stage and outputs a detection signal to the control means. The control means transmits command signals to the driving device for actuating movement of the camera along the guiding device.

Definable charge labels couple with the particles to form charge-modified particles which display with a different migratory behavior in FFE The apparatus includes focusing buffers between the separation medium and at least one electrode which has much higher electrical conductivity than the separation medium.

Abstract: Glycolytic inhibitors are useful in the treatment of solid tumors by attacking anaerobic cells at the center on the tumor. 2-deoxyglucose, oxamate and various analogs thereof are identified as having a natural selective toxicity toward anaerobic cells, and will significantly increase the efficacy of standard cancer chemotherapeutic and radiation regiments as well as new protocols emerging with anti-angiogenic agents.
Abstract: Apparatus for optimizing performance of a stepper motor includes interaction between on-hardware system drivers and a host controlling computer through an intermediate target computer. The command instructions from the host computer are optimized by the interaction using an objective function to define the best performance of the stepper motor and real-time feedback from operation of the motor. A method for optimizing the stepper motor performance is also disclosed.

Abstract: Substrates are charged with a material by introducing the substrates into an evacuated vacuum container and exposing the surface of the substrates to a reactive gas which is adsorbed on the surface. The exposure is then terminated and the reactive gas adsorbed on the surface is allowed to react. The surface with the adsorbed reactive gas is exposed to a low-energy plasma discharge with ion energy E10 on the surface of the substrate of 0<E10?20 eV and an electron energy Eeo of 0 eV<Eeo?100 eV. The adsorbed reactive gas is allowed to react at least with the cooperation of plasma-generated ions and electrons and wherein the density of the resulting material charging on the substrate surface is controlled to have a predetermined density ranging from isolated atoms, to forming a continuous monolayer.

The base plate (4) includes at least one stop (5) offset to a lower level in relation to the carrier surface (2) and a sealing surface (6). The strip holder (1) is insertable into this recess (37) in such a way that the stop (5) of the base plate (4) is applied to the outer surface of the plate (34, 35) and the sealing surface (6) presses tightly against the inner surface (38) of the recess (37).

Abstract: A banderoling machine joins film webs from a roll to form a film curtain. Film is placed around material to be banderoled to form a loop and the loop is tightened to clamp at least one of the film webs, and is heat-sealed and separated from the remainder of the film. The web need not be positioned exactly and there is no film waste by providing, a film changing unit where both the working film web and the supply film web are guided through a film sealing unit having at least one separating heat-sealing device to produce a pinch-separating seam between the old working film web and the supply film web and between the excess supply film web and the remainder of the old working film web.
Abstract: A method and an apparatus which continuously separate and measure mercury in an exhaust gas in accordance with each chemical conformation and display a measurement result in real time. According to the method and the apparatus, water-soluble mercury in a gas is absorbed into an absorption solution (7), the gas and the absorption solution (7) are then separated from each other, the water-soluble mercury in the absorption solution (7) is reduced to be converted into gaseous metal mercury and led to an analyzer (20), and metal mercury in the gas which is not absorbed into the absorption solution (7) is led to an analyzer (22) in the form of gas. As a result, the water-soluble mercury and the non-water-soluble mercury contained in the gas can be captured and measured/analyzed in respective measurement systems in accordance with each chemical conformation. In addition, a concentration of the metal mercury and that of the water-soluble mercury in the gas can be continuously monitored in real time.
