  • Patent number: 4283358
Abstract: This rotor-carburetor arrangement with idling mixture formation has a traditional throttle flap (2), a rotor-carburetor (3) and at least one idling duct (20). The rotor-carburetor (3) contains an impeller (9) which drives a rotor (8). The rotor (8) has a fuel outlet bore (17). This nozzle bore (17) in the case of a rotating impeller (9) delivers a fuel quantity which stands in a linear relationship to the impeller rpm. The load-fuel air mixture is so lean that a portion of harmful substances in the exhaust gases is minimum and the CO portion is less than about 0.3%. The idling duct (20) has a pipeshaped inlet (23) which is directed toward the impeller (9) and an inlet opening (24) which lies in the marginal area of the intake duct (1) and close below the impeller. In the case of a closed throttle flap (2), the aspirated air flows through the idling duct (20) and this calls for a higher impeller rpm for the idling air throughput.

  • Patent number: 4277960
Abstract: A program controlled multiple stream liquid application process in which longitudinal asynchronism between the application of the portions of liquid is reduced by intermittently or continuously detecting the emission of a test stream at each liquid application station, generating, in response to said detection, an electrical signal indicating the time of emission of each test stream with one or more reference times and thereby to generate a correction signal indicative of the extent of longitudinal asynchronism, and modifying the program control in response to the correction signal. A complementary apparatus is also disclosed. In a separate aspect, multiple stream liquid application apparatus includes means coupling the conveyor and the liquid applicator means so that lateral displacement of the conveyor induces a corresponding displacement of the liquid applicator means.

  • Patent number: 4265607
Abstract: An apparatus for fabricating a plastic insulator having helical-shaped shields or screens, these shields radially protruding from an insulator rod. Two oppositely rotating rolls coact to form an infeed gap for the material forming the shields which is infed in a kneadable condition in transverse direction to the rolls. According to a first embodiment drive means serve to rotate the rolls about their axes and the insulator rod about its lengthwise axis. Means provide relative mutual movement of the pair of rolls and the insulator rod in the direction of the lengthwise axis of the insulator rod or parallel thereto, in order to simultaneously form the shield and apply the same to the insulator rod. According to a further embodiment both of the rolls have peripheral grooves and these rolls, with the exception of such peripheral grooves, bear against one another at their outer surfaces, and drive means serve for rotating the rolls for forming a shield or screen rod.
