Abstract: In a noise reducer for microwave amplifiers working by pulses, a small portion of the amplifier output signal is diverted through an ancillary channel. The amplitude of the pulses of this diverted signal is greatly reduced by a limiter. The noise between the pulses can then be processed in an amplifying circuit and in a phase-shifting circuit so that, by combining the main signal in a second coupler, the noise between the pulses is eliminated. This invention can be applied to transmission amplifiers forming part of a transmission/reception set where reception takes place between the transmission pulses.

Abstract: The invention is concerned with an illuminator to radiate light rays in the near-infrared region, and a near-infrared ray image pick-up device which irradiates the near-infrared light radiated from this illuminator onto an object to be pictured, and captures light reflected from the object for image pick-up. By constructing the illuminator with an electric discharge lamp and a filter which removes the visible region and permit the near-infrared region to pass therethrough out of light rays radiated from this electric discharge lamp, there can be provided a near-infrared ray radiation illuminator having a high efficiency and low deterioration characteristic.
Abstract: A system for the suppression of noise and its variations for the detection of a pure signal in a measured noisy discrete signal. The system measures a counting rate N.sub.2 in a signal channel and a counting rate N.sub.3 in a reference channel, evaluates the estimation value .lambda..sub.E of the ratio .lambda. between the mean noise levels in the channels and evaluates the associated false detection probability I as a function of (N.sub.2, N.sub.3 .lambda..sub.E). The system then performs a comparison of I with at least one information threshold I.sub.m, each associated with a predetermined false detection level. Comparison can take place indirectly on a function of the probability and can use tabulated values. The system has particular application to the detection of corpuscular radiation.
Abstract: A radio frequency coil for nuclear magnetic resonance imaging comprises two annular conductors which are coaxially disposed at opposite ends of a prescribed axis and at least one pair of longitudinal conductor groups which are symmetrically disposed in parallel to the prescribed axis and extend longitudinally from one annular conductor to the other. Each longitudinal conductor group comprises a plurality of longitudinally-extending electrical conductors whose ends are secured and electrically connected to the annular conductors. The longitudinal conductors are preferably in the form of electrically conducting wires, tubes, or plates. The annular conductors can be in the form of one-piece rings or in the form of one or more pairs of arcuate plates which are electrically connected with one another and disposed about the prescribed axis in the form of a ring.
Abstract: An electronic still camera comprising a shutter release, a solid state imaging device on which an image of an object is focused through an optical system, a driver for driving the imaging device to derive an object picture signal, an analog-to-digital converter for converting this signal into a digital image signal, and a semiconductor memory card detachably loaded into the housing, for recording the digital image signal. The memory card has semiconductor memory chips mounted on a printed circuit board. The camera operates in a motion image display mode by half depression of the shutter release, and operates in a still image mode by full depression of the release. In the motion image display mode, the driver drives the imaging device on a real time basis to sequentially derive object picture signals and supplies them to an electronic view finder to display the object in the motion image mode. In the still image mode, a shutter pulse corresponding to the shutter time external set is generated.
