  • Patent number: 6789295
Abstract: The invention relates to a clamp apparatus for application to an object, for example a plate, a sheet, a fabric or a thin film, by gripping two opposite sides of the object. For this purpose, the apparatus comprises a tubular element with an inner passage with a cross section which tapers in the direction of one end of the element and a clamp surface projecting from the opposite end of the element. A wedge shaped element with a tapering section is insertable into the passage via its wide opening. Thereby, a nip is formed in the co-operation between the wedge shaped element and the clamp surface.

  • Patent number: 6736246
Abstract: This invention provides a dynamic damper 10, in which convex portions 21 protruded in the direction of the inside diameter are provided at a plurality of positions along the circumference of the outer pipe 20 and an elastic body 40 is held between the convex portion 21 and the outer circumference of the weight 30. A stopper portion 32 capable of engaging the convex portion 21 of the outer pipe 20 in the axial direction of the pipe is provided on the weight 30. An insertion guide face 23 provided at an end portion in the axial direction of the convex portion 21 of the outer pipe 20, and the convex portion 21 of the outer pipe 20 makes the insertion guide face 23 slide against the stopper portion 32 of the weight 30 to enlarge the diameter of the convex portion elastically to surpass the stopper portion 32 so that it fits to the outer circumference of the weight 30.

  • Patent number: 6731222
Abstract: A light emitting diode signal with reduced susceptibility to the “sun phantom” effect. A single printed circuit board populated with both the power supply circuitry and the light emitting diodes is located at an increased distance from the front cover which is angled to direct extraneous light away from the viewers position. A snap together housing reduces overall cost and assembly time. Light from the light emitting diodes distributed across the single printed circuit board to project an overlapping light pattern is collimated by a multiple collimating zone optical element which creates a uniform display aspect without discernable individual points of light.

  • Patent number: 6722107
Abstract: An apparatus for forming and containing a series of waste containing packs successively distributed along a length of flexible tubing is formed of a housing with a top portion displaying an opening to receive waste material therein and of a cassette containing a package of a flexible pleated tubing and so constructed as to enable the tubing to be dispensed therefrom downwardly into the opening. The apparatus includes a tubing pulling device rotatably mounted to the housing and including an attachment for securing one end of the tubing and an arrangement to receive the tubing in a wraparound manner when the pulling device is rotated and to form waste containing packs. The arrangement defines folds between successive packs to compress the tubing at the folds to seal the packs. The pulling device is removably mounted to the housing so as to enable the disposal of the waste containing packs from the pulling device.

  • Patent number: 6724510
Abstract: An angular sweep of a directed propagation of electromagnetic radiation is generated by a first oscillating or vibrating reflector that cooperates with at least one fixed reflector. Electromagnetic radiation, for example a laser beam, incident upon the first reflector is reflected to the fixed reflector with an angular sweep created by movement of the first reflector and in turn is reflected back to the first reflector at least once, each reflection back to the first reflector increasing again the angular sweep created by the previous reflection from the first reflector. Multiple reflections creating a wide angular sweep relative to the magnitude of the first reflector's movement.

  • Patent number: 6717526
Abstract: An LED signal with an LED light pipe collector and intelligent light degradation sensor. The light pipe collector captures LED light normally lost in a generally horizontal direction and redirects it into a generally vertical direction through use of total internal reflection. The light degradation sensor monitors LED signal light output. When light output degrades to a preset level, an electrical circuit triggers a disabling short circuit to deactivate the LED signal.
