  • Patent number: 7705785
Abstract: An antenna has a plurality of metallic patches and a feed network both being spaced apart from a ground plate at different levels to obtain better radiation pattern and gain effects. Each of the metallic patches has a body with an outer edge from which an inclined wing extends upwardly and outwardly. Furthermore, the metallic patches and the feed network are integrally formed by bending a single piece of metal plate, thus the antenna improves the design flexibility and also simplifies the production process.

  • Patent number: 7705284
Abstract: In order to operate a single photon detector in communication wavelength band at a high speed, a DC bias voltage 2 lower than the breakdown voltage is applied to an InGaAs/InP avalanche photodiode (APD) 1. A 500 MHz sine wave gating signal 3 is superimposed with the DC bias voltage 2 and applied to the APD 1 so as to exceed the breakdown voltage by about 4V in a fractional time of each period. The sine wave gating signal 3 passed through the APD 1 is substantially completely removed by a filter 4, thereby improving S/N and enabling to detect a single photon even if the avalanche multiplication time is shortened to reduce the after pulse and the detection period. As a result, it achieves to detect a single photon in the 1550 nm communication band at a high speed.

  • Patent number: 7694421
Abstract: A flick knife with a lever frame has a hilt, a blade, a lever frame and a spring. The blade has a proximal end pivotally mounted in the hilt. The lever frame is mounted through the hilt and has a front connector that abuts the proximal end of the blade to rotate the blade, and a rear connector. The spring is mounted inside the hilt and connects the hilt to the rear connector of the lever frame and eases opening of the blade and prevents the blade from opening. Because the spring is mounted in the hilt, the knife is thinner than prior art and therefore more convenient.

  • Patent number: 7679797
Abstract: The invention relates to a hologram that enables two or more different images to be simultaneously reconstructed even in a state where the hologram is fixed in terms of relative position with respect to an eye, and a holographic viewing device that incorporates it. The hologram 14 is fabricated by applying Fourier transform to a plurality of input image to obtain a plurality of corresponding Fourier transform images 13-1, 13-2 and arraying the Fourier transform images 13-1, 13-2 on the same plane according to a given two-dimensional array principle into a computer-generated hologram. When a plurality of point light sources 231 to 239 located behind the hologram 14 are viewed through the hologram 14, a plurality of images are simultaneously and parallel reconstructed (28) in correspondence to the array positions of the plurality of Fourier transform images.

  • Patent number: 7662207
Abstract: The invention provides a super hard and tough, nano-crystal austenite steel bulk material having an improved corrosion resistance, and its preparation process. The austenite steel bulk material comprises an aggregate of austenite nano-crystal grains containing 0.1 to 2.0% (by mass) of a solid solution type nitrogen, wherein an oxide, nitride, carbide or the like of a metal or semimetal exists as a crystal grain growth inhibitor between and/or in said nano-crystal grains. For preparation, fine powders of austenite steel-forming components, i.e., iron and chromium, nickel, manganese, carbon or the like are mixed with a substance that becomes a nitrogen source. Mechanical alloying (MA) is applied to the mixture, thereby preparing nano-crystal austenite steel powders having a high nitrogen concentration. Finally, the austenite steel powders are consolidated by sintering by means of spark plasma sintering, rolling or the like.
