  • Patent number: 7672273
Abstract: A heterogeneous network apparatus, method, computer program, and computer readable medium can detect path status parameters of heterogeneous networks. The path status parameters are used to calculate path priorities. The path priorities are used to determine an assignment ratio. The assignment ratio is used to assign network paths to transmit a packet, whereby the problem that the heterogeneous network apparatus of the prior art cannot utilize different network interfaces effectively at the same time is solved.

  • Patent number: 7673240
Abstract: A method of providing a ubiquitous navigation and program guide user interface that is common across a heterogeneous multitude of digital media devices. A navbar user interface persistently displays across a topmost portion of a display for each of the heterogeneous multitude of digital media devices when the digital media device is operating in a mode other than a full screen display of digital media content. The navbar user interface presents a limited set of icons associated with a navigation and media guide user interface for different kinds of digital media content and device operations that are common across the heterogeneous multitude of digital media devices. The navbar user interface is operated in a scrolling manner to display and select a navigation and media guide interface for a desired one of the different kinds of digital media content and device operations by selecting an associated one of the limited set of icons.

  • Patent number: 7670495
Abstract: An oxygen emitter which is an electrolytic cell is disclosed. When the anode and cathode are separated by a critical distance, very small microbubbles and nanobubbles of oxygen are generated. The very small oxygen bubbles remain in suspension, forming a solution supersaturated in oxygen. A flow-through model for oxygenating flowing water is disclosed. The use of supersaturated water for enhancing the growth of plants is disclosed. Methods for applying supersaturated water to plants manually, by drip irrigation or in hydroponic culture are described. The treatment of waste water by raising the dissolved oxygen with the use of an oxygen emitter is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7672057
Abstract: A microscope objective having at least four lenses or groups of lenses and which can be used to improve image contrast. According to the invention, a phase plate, aligned concentrically to the optical axis, can be integrated into and taken out of the air space between the first lens and the second lens, as viewed from the object side. The defined arrangement of the phase plate and the associated shift of the real pupil into the air space between the first two lenses or groups of lenses, respectively, of the microscope objective allows a microscope objective, initially designed as a bright-field variant, to be redesigned as a phase contrast variant with relative ease.

  • Patent number: 7664603
Abstract: A method of analyzing an electromagnetic wavefield includes the steps of measuring the electric and magnetic fields at at least one receiver, formulating a respective spatial domain filter in respect of each of mutually orthogonal components of each of the electric and magnetic fields, and applying the filters to the measured acquired data to decompose the wavefield into upgoing and downgoing components.

  • Patent number: 7661235
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for an exterior covering capable of withstanding extreme wind loads. In one embodiment, a wind resistant exterior covering includes a first panel fastened to a substrate and a second panel fastened to the substrate. The second panel engages the first panel, and a clip fastened to the substrate is adapted and located to laterally restrain movement of the second panel with respect to the first panel. In another embodiment, a method of engaging panels of a modular exterior covering system includes coupling a protruding portion of a first panel with a respective receiving portion of a second panel. The coupling is such that the first panel is laterally restrained by the second panel and a clip, and the first panel is outwardly restrained by the receiving portion of the second panel.

  • Patent number: 7662183
Abstract: A dynamic spinal implant utilizes cartilage bearing graft material in dynamic disc replacement and/or facet arthroplasty. Methods and apparatus for dynamic spinal implants incorporate bulk articular graft tissues derived from donor joint sources in human (allograft or autograft) or non-human (xenograft) tissue. The donor joint is preferably prepared as a biological dynamic spinal implant with articular cartilage as a bearing interface between adjacent bone surfaces that naturally articulate with respect to one another.

  • Patent number: 7660188
Abstract: The present invention provides a seismic exploration and imaging system for producing seismic survey reports of subsea geological structures. The exploration system provides a method in which both P-waves and S-waves are detected without the need for placing detection apparatus in contact the seabed. A seismic event is applied (12) to the earth's surface (13), and the detected response including P-waves and S-waves in the earth's. The detecting apparatus comprises a means for monitoring and recording the response to the seismic event in the form of movements of particles at the earth's surface, from a position spaced from the earth's surface. Particles at the surface will respond both to P-wave and S-wave stimulation and so their movements will be representative of the two waves. These movements are detected from a distance.

  • Patent number: 7658225
Abstract: A polish rod clamp apparatus has a body defining a lower rod aperture and a tapered body recess. A cap defines an upper rod aperture and a tapered cap recess. Tapered gripper dies have upper and lower outer surfaces sloping inward from a central portion and inner surfaces configured to bear against the polish rod. The dies are installed in the body recess such that inner surfaces bear against a polish rod and the lower outer surfaces bear against walls of the body recess. The dies are movable with respect to the body and are prevented from rotating. The cap is threaded onto the body such that the upper outer surfaces of the gripper dies bear against the walls of the tapered cap recess. Threading the cap onto the body forces the gripper dies against the outer surface of the polish rod passing through the body.

  • Patent number: 7660449
Abstract: A method for measuring residual protein in a cellular specimen including obtaining a low magnification image of a candidate object of interest, filtering the candidate object of interest pixels with a low pass filter, morphologically processing the candidate object of interest pixels to identify artifact pixels, identifying the candidate object of interest by eliminating artifact pixels, acquiring a higher magnification image of the subsample for the candidate object of interest, transforming pixels of the higher magnification image in a first color space to a second color space to differentiate higher magnification candidate object of interest pixels from background pixels, identifying an object of interest from the candidate object of interest pixels in the second color space, and determining the optical density of the protein in a cell contained in a subsample, wherein the optical density is indicative of the residual component of a cellular protein.

  • Patent number: 7656063
Abstract: A rotor is accommodated in a yoke housing. Six magnets are arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction on the inner circumferential surface of the yoke housing so as to face the rotor. The core is generally cylindrical and includes an annular portion at an anti-output side and a balance at an output side. The magnets have six poles so as to effectively narrow a basal path width of the core in which the line of magnetic force concentrates most and magnetic saturation is likely to occur most. This reduces the diameter of the core. Therefore, the motor is effectively miniaturized in the axial direction and in the radial direction without complicating the formation steps.
