Abstract: A wafer container including an enclosure portion with a door frame defining an opening for insertion and removal of wafers and a door fittable in the door frame to seal the enclosure portion. A continuous elastomeric seal extends around the door inward of the periphery. The seal is positioned on a sealing surface proximate the perimeter of the door and may be partially inset in a radial groove in the door. In cross-section, the elastomeric seal has an inset portion and a sealing head coupled by a bridging portion. The sealing head has a foot portion projecting from the bridging portion toward the sealing surface of the door, and a head portion extending in a direction generally opposite the foot relative to the bridging portion.
Abstract: There is provided a method of manufacturing a rib for an aircraft wing, the method comprising providing a billet of material for forming the rib, machining away material from all sides of the billet to form a rib for use in an aircraft, the rib including a web that extends between first and second flanged portions, each flanged portion having a flange that facilitates fixing of the rib to another component of the aircraft, wherein the material that forms the web extends diagonally across the billet, the web having a first face on a first side and a second face on a second side opposite to the first side of the web, and the first flanged portion extends more to the first side of the web than to the second side and the second flanged portion extends more to the second side of the web than to the first side.
Abstract: A proofing tool, including an anilox roll and an impression roll shiftable relative to each other from an engaged position and a disengaged position and a positive stop nip adjustment mechanism. operably connected to the anilox roll and the impression roll and being adjustable whereby when the anilox roll and the impression roll are in the engaged position the positive stop prevents the nip distance from being smaller than a set value.
Abstract: A lamp assembly of a projection apparatus which has a function of adjusting the position of the lamp device is disclosed. The lamp assembly includes an outer housing, a lamp module, a transversely adjustable device and a vertically adjustable device. The lamp module is detachably disposed in the outer housing with the transversely and vertically adjustable devices disposed on the outer housing. When the lamp module is located within the outer housing, the lamp module can be adjusted by operating the transversely and vertically adjustable devices.
Abstract: A data sampler system receives a high-speed data stream and uses a first set of data samplers for sampling the data stream at a first set of clock phase angles to produce a first set of sequential data “eye” samples. A second set of data samplers, to sampled at a second set of clock phase angles that are different from the first set of clock phase angles to produce a second set of sequential data transition samples. The first set of data samplers, the data stream is sampled at the second set of clock phase angles to produce a third set of sequential data transition samples and with the second set data samplers, the data stream is sampled at a first set of clock phase angles to produce a fourth set of sequential data “eye” samples. The system alternates between the first mode and a second mode in which the results produce a reduced input offset voltage for the sampler system.
Abstract: An incident intensity L is categorized into a low illuminance range A1 for immediately moving a sun visor body toward a retracted position, a high illuminance range A2 for immediately moving the sun visor body in a target direction set based on an incident angle, and an intermediate illuminance range A3 set between the two regions A1 and A2. When the incident intensity is in the region A3 and after the target position is continuously set closer to the retracted position or the projected position than the present position for a predetermined time, the sun visor body moves toward the target position. That is, there is a range between an illuminance threshold L1 for immediately moving the sun visor body toward the retracted position and an illuminance threshold L2 for immediately moving the sun visor body in the target direction based on the incident angle.
Abstract: An insulator is mounted in an armature core. Coils are wound around teeth of the armature core by way of concentrated winding. A power feeding member, which supplies a current to the coils, includes a connecting portion. A separating portion, which is provided in the insulator, is located in the teeth. The separating portion separates each of the coils to a first portion and a second portion. The connecting portion is electrically connected to the first portion. Accordingly, while preventing damage to the coils, the coils are easily connected to the power feeding member.
Abstract: A braking device for an electrically driven rotor comprises a drive signal generating circuit for an electrically driven rotor, an output stage, a motor for the electrically driven rotor, driven by the output stage, and a monitor circuit for detecting interruption of an electric power supply for the motor. The output stage has a MOSFET of an upper stage side and a MOSFET of a lower side, and a diode inserted between a gate of the MOSFET of the lower stage side and the electric power supply. An electromagnetic brake is generated and applied on the electrically driven rotor when the MOSFET of the upper stage side is turned OFF and the MOSFET of the lower stage side is turned ON by a control signal from the monitor circuit, and an exciter coil of the motor is shorted when the electric power supply is interrupted.
Abstract: A flexible, uniform mail package for use with automated mailing procedures and a method of distributing advertising and promotional items. A mail package includes a plastic tray with at least one well for containing and securing an article, such as a pen or a key tag, within the mail package. The mail package meets current and proposed USPS uniformity and flexibility standards for automated handling of the mail packages, and is capable of being processed, without issue, using automatic equipment thereby reducing postage costs compared to non-flat machinable mail pieces.

Abstract: An IR switching device, electrically connected to an apparatus, is provided. The IR switching device comprises an IR transmitter, an IR receiver, a processor, a controller. The IR transmitter is configured to emit an IR signal. The IR receiver is configured to receive a reflected IR signal to generate a response signal accordingly, wherein the reflected IR signal is generated after the IR signal is reflected and the response signal comprising a first signal as the IR receiver receives the reflected IR signal while the response signal comprising a second signal as the IR receiver does not receives the reflected IR signal. The processor is configured to process the response signal and for generating a processing signal after processing the response signal. The controller is configured to switch the apparatus according to the processing signal. One of an emission power of the IR transmitter and a reception power of the IR receiver is adjustable according to the distance requirement.
Abstract: A system for investigating subterranean strata. An electromagnetic field and a seismic event are applied from the same location and the responses are detected using respective receivers both located at a second location spaced from the first. The responses are combined to identify the presence and/or nature of subterranean reservoir. The refracted wave components are used.

Abstract: Disclosed is an ion gage using a carbon nano-tube, more specifically a pressure sensor using a field emission of the carbon nano-tube. An array of carbon nano-tubes is formed on a metallic layer. A first grid is disposed on the array of the carbon nano-tubes. A second grid is disposed on the first grid in such a manner as to be spaced apart by a certain desired distance from the first grid. A collector is disposed on the second grid in such a manner as to be spaced apart by a certain desired distance from the second grid. Electrons emitted from the carbon nano-tube are collided with gas molecules to be ionized. The ionized cation is sensed by the collector to be outputted as an electrical signal.

Abstract: To automatically eliminate clogging of tablets, a tablet filling device provides a cassette body including a tablet cassette, having tablets, a rotor having a groove for holding a tablet, and a discharge port for discharging the tablet held by the groove. The cassette body includes a worm gear in mesh with a gear fixed to a shaft of the rotor. A carrying member is adapted to approach the tablet cassette while holding a tablet container. The tablet filling device is equipped with a drive shaft engaged with the worm gear to rotate the rotor via the gear. The tablet container is carried to the tablet cassette by the carrying member and, when a rotation of the rotor stops halfway through dispensing of tablets, the worm gear is moved in the axial direction of the drive shaft of the carrying member to cause the rotor to make a reverse rotation.
Abstract: Improved energy conversion devices comprise a first magnet, a second magnet oriented such that similar poles of the first magnet and the second magnet can be positioned proximate each other, and a mechanical element connected to the first magnet such that movement of the first magnet can actuate the mechanical element to provide mechanical work. In some embodiments, the energy conversion devices can further comprise a ferromagnetic element that can be selectively interposed between the first magnet and the second magnet, which can facilitate movement of the first and second magnets towards the ferromagnetic element. Due to the orientation of the first and second magnets, and the associated mechanical element, the repulsive force between the first and second magnets can be converted into mechanical work.
Abstract: A light coupling apparatus for use in an optical equipment is provided. The light coupling apparatus is used to couple a plurality of different incident lights from different light sources into a light that emits in a substantial single outward direction.
