  • Patent number: 6288211
Abstract: As a method of vacuum recovery of residual monomers from PVC paste resin latex by heating the latex, the present invention is capable of breaking foam derived from foamable PVC paste resin latex after polymerization by utilizing the methods: using a residual monomer vacuum recovery apparatus having a foam separator and transferring the foam which overflows from the vacuum recovery vessel to the foam separator so that the foam makes direct contact with steam causing a breakdown of the foam. This is done without reducing operability, without lowering stable operation, without degrading product quality, and without reducing the solid concentration of the latex.

  • Patent number: 6288665
Abstract: An encoder for an A/D converter includes a plurality of ROM cells connected between bit lines and word lines. Each of the ROM cells is responsive to a word line select signal supplied to a word line associated with each of the ROM cells for supplying a digital output signal according to the word line select signal to a bit line associated with each of the ROM cells. A logic processor is coupled to one of the bit lines and to two of the word lines used to select a ROM cell connected to the bit line. The logic processor produces an output signal indicative of a selection of the ROM cell connected to the bit line, based on word line select signals supplied on the two word lines.

  • Patent number: 6285923
Abstract: A profile of a designated road by which a vehicle is guided to a destination is predicted by road map data. In the case where it is difficult for the own vehicle to pass through a curve of the designated road ahead of the own vehicle, a warning is given to a driver or vehicle speed is automatically reduced. Whether or not the car is correctly running on the designated road is decided by deviation &Dgr;&thgr; (=&thgr;V−&thgr;M) between azimuth angle &thgr;V of the actual advancing direction of the own vehicle and azimuth angle &thgr;M of the designated road. When it is decided that there is a possibility that the own vehicle is running off the designated road, the warning is given or automatic speed reduction is stopped or suppressed. Due to the foregoing, it is possible to prevent the own vehicle from being improperly controlled and it becomes possible for a driver from feeling a sense of incongruity.

  • Patent number: 6285630
Abstract: An auto-control bird-expelling device which functions independently and performs or suspends a bird-expelling operation in response to environmental change is disclosed. The bird-expelling device includes a detector and a bird-expelling signal generator. The detector automatically detects the environmental change, and informs of the bird-expelling signal generator to perform an bird-expelling operation when necessary. The environmental change can be the intrusion of birds into a designated range, and alternatively or additionally, can be the day and night change. On the other hand, the bird-expelling signal can be the sound of a fierce bird such as a hawk or an eagle, or any other visual or audio signals to drive the intruding birds away.
