  • Patent number: 6861967
Abstract: Predetermined reference voltages v1, v2 are A/D-converted to achieve corresponding digital data d0, d1, d2. Any reference digital values y1, y2 are set in advance so as to satisfy y1/y2=(v1?v0)/(v2?v0)=½. Furthermore, calculations of x1=d1?d0 and x2=d2?d0 are carried out to achieve x1, x2. A quadratic curve (quadratic function expression y=f(x)) passing a point D (x1, y1) and a point E (x2, y2) and the origin on the xy coordinate system is set as a linearly correcting expression. A shift value x achieved by subtracting d0 from data ds having non-linearity from the A/D converting circuit is corrected by the linearly correcting expression thus achieved to achieve a linearly corrected value y to ds.

  • Patent number: 6860639
Abstract: A pulley includes a radial rolling bearing and a pulley main body which are integrated to each other by an insert molding method. Therefore, a metal insert member is not required between the resin pulley main body and the radial rolling bearing, thereby reducing production cost of the pulley. Further, an axial dimension of an outer ring of the radial rolling bearing is set larger than an axial dimension of an inner ring thereof, so that a contact area between the radial rolling bearing and the pulley main body is increased. Therefore, a connection strength between the radial rolling bearing and the pulley main body is increased, and a surface area of the radial rolling bearing is increased, thereby improving heat radiation performance of the radial rolling bearing.

  • Patent number: 6859506
Abstract: An ultra-wide band (UWB) waveform receiver with noise cancellation for use in a UWB digital communication system. The UWB receiver uses a two-stage mixing approach to cancel noise and bias in the receiver. Self-jamming is prevented by inverting a portion of the received signal in the first mixer and then coherently detecting the partially and synchronously inverted signal in the second mixer. Since the drive signals on both mixers are not matched to the desired signal, leakage of either drive signal does not jam the desired signal preventing the receiver from detecting and decoding a weak signal.

  • Patent number: 6859731
Abstract: In a collision damage reduction system, a microcomputer obtains relative position data corresponding to a relative between a vehicle and an object from a first detecting unit, the detected speed of the vehicle as detected by a second detecting unit, the detected turning angle of the vehicle as detected by a third detecting unit. The microcomputer calculates a total collision probability representing a probability that the vehicle and the object will collide on a runnable space according to the relative position data, the detected speed of the own vehicle and the detected turning angle. In addition, the microcomputer instructs the operation unit to operate at least one of a first collision avoidance operation and a second collision avoidance operation according to the total collision probability.

  • Patent number: 6856829
Abstract: A physiological condition detecting method detects pulse waves from the body of a patient, and creates the envelope of the pulse waves by connecting every peak of the pulse waves. It determines that the patient is in non-REM sleep, if the envelope fluctuates regularly. It determines that the patient is in REM sleep, if the envelope fluctuates irregularly. Further the method calculates and normalizes the amplitude and period of the envelope. It determines whether the patient has obstructive sleep apnea syndrome based on the normalized amplitude. It determines whether the patient has central sleep apnea syndrome based on the normalized period. It determines that the patient has mixed sleep apnea syndrome based on the normalized amplitude and the normalized period.

  • Patent number: 6855418
Abstract: A resin tie bar 1A is formed from a base material 10, 11 of a heat-resistant resin whose melting point is higher than the temperature during resin molding and an insulative adhesive layer 12 on the base material 10, 11 and formed from an insulative adhesive agent that may or may not be removable prior to resin molding depending upon its composition. The resin tie bar 1A is applied to the surface of the leads 22 of a lead frame, and resin molding is then performed, during which the resin tie bar 1A is pressed by a heated mold 3, which softens the insulative adhesive agent of the resin tie bar 1A and pushes it into the gaps 23 between the leads 22 of the lead frame. Thus the resin tie bar 1A can be easily formed into a shape that is favorable for the leads 22 of the lead frame.

  • Patent number: 6855981
Abstract: A silicon carbide power device includes a junction field effect transistor and a protective diode, which is a Zener or PN junction diode. The PN junction of the protective diode has a breakdown voltage lower than the PN junction of the transistor. Another silicon carbide power device includes a protective diode, which is a Schottky diode. The Schottky diode has a breakdown voltage lower than the PN junction of the transistor by adjusting Schottky barrier height or the depletion layer formed in the semiconductor included in the Schottky diode. Another silicon carbide power device includes three protective diodes, which are Zener diodes. Two of the protective diodes are used to clamp the voltages applied to the gate and the drain of the transistor due to surge energy and used to release the surge energy. The last diode is a thermo-sensitive diode, with which the temperature of the JFET is measured.

  • Patent number: 6856277
Abstract: In the on-vehicle radar apparatus of the present invention, the vertical scanning width of the radar beam is narrowed, before the horizontal scanning, thereby avoiding unnecessary data processing and improving the data processing efficiently. Further, the S/N ratio of the target detection signal is increased, thereby stabilizing the distance detection and its accuracy. The vertical scanning antenna is a single travelling wave excitation antenna (TWEA) constructed by a plurality of antenna elements. At the same time, the horizontal scanning antenna is a multi-channel antenna wherein a plurality of TWEAs is assigned to a plurality of horizontal directions. • Patent number: 6853896
Abstract: A vehicle agent system controls operation of relevant in-vehicle devices as execution of a practical response for acting for a driver. When a command is inputted by the driver or a notification is inputted from an in-vehicle network, an assumed response is selected from driver information stored in a RAM, based on the command or the notification. The selected assumed response including parameters is presented to the driver. When the driver inputs a command for permitting the selected assumed response or the driver inputs no command for a predetermined period, the selected assumed response is determined to be the practice response. When the driver inputs modification, the selected assumed response is modified into the practical response.
