Abstract: In a method of detecting an angular velocity V? of an angular velocity sensor including a vibrating body, a monitoring signal Vm(t) sensing a displacement of the vibrating body in a first direction and a sensing signal Vs(t) sensing a displacement of the vibrating body in a second direction crossing the first direction are detected. A difference in time between a first feature point where the monitoring signal Vm(t) crosses a first reference level and a second feature point where the sensing signal Vs(t) crosses a second reference level is set as ?t, a sensing direct-current voltage corresponding to an amplitude of the sensing signal Vs(t) is set as Vsd, a driving frequency is set as fd, and the angular velocity V? is calculated from formula of V?=Vsd×sin(2·?·fd·?T).

  • Patent number: 8200417
Abstract: A route search apparatus stores a section of a route to a database when drowsiness of a driver is detected by a drowsiness detector in the section of the route. The route search apparatus refers to the database and determines whether route candidates include a drowsiness-detected route section when the apparatus searches for a route extending from a departure place to a destination. When the drowsiness-detected route section is included in the route candidates, an evaluation value of the drowsiness-detected route section is raised before re-searching the route extending from the departure place to the destination.

  • Patent number: 8193905
Abstract: A storage circuit of a portable device stores setting data concerning a function installed on a used vehicle or an in-use vehicle. Stored setting data of the portable device is read when the user gets in an in-use vehicle after use of a used vehicle. Setting data stored in the storage section of the vehicle apparatus is also read. The two read setting data are compared. When a comparison result shows a difference, execution of a function is permitted based on setting data read from the storage circuit of the portable device. The user can be notified of a function not used by the user or a new function when execution of the functions is permitted.

  • Patent number: 8194505
Abstract: A self-position detecting unit detects a self-position. A time calculating unit calculates a time of a time zone where the self-position detected using the self-position detection unit exists. A time display unit displays the time calculated using the time calculating unit. A display control unit causes the time display unit to display time of the first time zone where the self-position exists continually in an area in a second time zone, which is adjacent to the first time zone, when determining that the self-position moves into the second time zone. The area has a predetermined width from a boundary between the first time zone and the second time zone. The display control unit further causes the time display unit to display time of the second time zone when determining that the self-position moves beyond the area.

  • Patent number: 8190347
Abstract: A control apparatus controlling anteroposterior acceleration of a vehicle by controlling a motive power generation apparatus mounted on the vehicle, which is also provided with a staged transmission apparatus that operates on gear ratios. The motive power generation apparatus has an output shaft producing a rotation force in response to a command to be requested. The rotation force is transmitted to the drive wheels via the staged transmission apparatus. A feedback manipulated variable is calculated to control the production of the rotation force of the motive power generation apparatus so that an actual value of anteroposterior acceleration of the vehicle is controlled at a target value thereof. The calculated feedback manipulated variable is used as the command. When the staged transmission apparatus is in the switchover control of the gear ratios, the manipulated variable is is limited from being calculated (for example, stopped from being calculated).

  • Patent number: 8185266
Abstract: It is determined whether a vehicle enters a halting state or a slow moving state. It is detected that an accelerator opening degree of the vehicle is zero during a deceleration duration up to the time to enter the halting state or the slow moving state. Further, an accelerator zero duration is calculated which is a duration for which the vehicle is in the halting state or the slow moving state while the accelerator opening degree is zero. Furthermore, an accelerator zero travel distance is calculated which the vehicle runs during the calculated accelerator zero duration. Based on the accelerator zero travel distance, it is determined whether the fuel saving driving operation is performed in traveling during the accelerator zero travel duration. Even in the state where the travel speed of the vehicle changes more than needs during inertia travel, the fuel saving driving operation is diagnosed appropriately.
