  • Patent number: 8236005
Abstract: A method and system for monitoring impaction of a femoral component of a hip prosthesis into a femur in which impaction data generated during the impaction of the femoral component into the femur is received from at least one measurement transducer attached to the femoral component and is normalized by a data acquisition and analysis device. An impaction monitoring metric is calculated based on the normalized impaction data, and femoral component fit and stability data is then generated and output to a user interface based on the impaction monitoring metric.

  • Patent number: 8233868
Abstract: A radio receiver device includes a radio signal processing section and a digital processing section. The radio signal processing section converts a received radio signal into a digital signal, demodulates the digital signal and detects a S/N ratio of the radio signal. The digital processing section digitally processes digital signals and switches over its operation mode based on the detected S/N ratio, thereby controlling a digital noise generated in the digital processing. The radio processing section checks whether the S/N ratio is lowered by a digital noise of the digital processing section or a shielding body external to the radio receiver device. The digital processing section switches over its operation mode to reduce the digital noise only when the cause of the fall of the S/N ratio is caused by the digital noise.

  • Patent number: 8226338
Abstract: A tip shaping apparatus presses electrode tips against a shaping roller thereof held by a rotationally driven holder in such a manner as to bring tip sections of the tips close to each other, thereby shaping the tip sections into reusable condition. The tip shaping apparatus includes deburring sections located in such positions as to confront burrs that are formed during shaping in such a manner as to project from outer circumferences of root sections proximate the tip sections of the electrode tips in a direction perpendicular to the axes of the electrode tips, at ejection of the electrode tips from the apparatus. Each of the deburring sections is located proximate an outer circumferential plane of the root section of each of the electrode tips undergoing shaping so as to abut against and cut off or bend the burrs in such a manner as to suppress the projecting height of the burrs when the electrode tips are ejected from the tip shaping apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8228144
Abstract: In an electromagnetic relay, length from a movable contact to an end portion of a movable element on a first end side is set greater than length from the movable contact to another end portion of the movable element on a second end side opposite to the first end side. A direction of a Lorentz force acting on a portion of the movable element from the movable contact to the end portion of the movable element on the first end side is conformed to a direction for bringing fixed contacts and movable contacts into contact with each other. Thus, separation between the movable contacts and the fixed contacts due to an electromagnetic repulsive force can be inhibited.
