  • Patent number: 7182533
Abstract: This invention provides novel keyboards comprising keys disposed such that they minimize the distance a finger typically must travel to effect a keystroke and the force that is applied to effect a keystroke. Accordingly the keyboards require less arm and finger movement to and thereby reduce the likelihood of an operator developing a repetitive stress injury (RSI). In one embodiment the keyboards comprise a plurality of keys disposed such that the alphanumeric keys form a continuous key array defining a key array surface having at least two concave regions wherein a plurality of keys present irregular and/or non-rectilinear striking faces.

  • Patent number: 7169553
Abstract: Within oligonucleotides 2-azapurine and especially 2-azaadenine bases form specifically base pairs with guanine. This base pair is of analogous stability as an adenine-thymine but less stable than a guanine-cytosine base pair. Therefore, the incorporation of 2-azaadenine residues into oligonucleotides instead of cytosine leads specifically to hybridization complexes with nucleic acids with homogenous stability. This is useful for the adaptation of the stabilities of different oligonucleotide sequences in all kinds of hybridization techniques, for example in oligomer chip technology.

  • Patent number: 7105297
Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to the evolution of new metabolic pathways and the enhancement of bioprocessing through a process herein termed recursive sequence recombination. Recursive sequence recombination entails performing iterative cycles of recombination and screening or selection to “evolve” individual genes, whole plasmids or viruses, multigene clusters, or even whole genomes. Such techniques do not require the extensive analysis and computation required by conventional methods for metabolic engineering.

  • Patent number: 7107347
Abstract: A number of innovations in the field of networking are disclosed. These techniques use multiple address translation to achieve effective deceptions, emulations, extended private networks and related goals. A further embodiment using a deception network having a number of different actual computer systems each performing emulation where deceived datagrams are routed to an actual machine that is particularly able to perform the desired emulation. The invention allows the emulation to receive a datagram just at it would appear at an external access point, operate on that datagram and return a datagram which is then passed through a deception wall using multiple address translations.
