Abstract: A medical simulation apparatus is provided, which is capable of performing a simulation by correlating a three-dimensional image with an entity model. Coordinates of measurement marks MP1, MP2, MP3 on a surface of a lower dental arch model 62 in a coordinate system defined by three reference marks MK1, MK2, MK3 are acquired before and after displacement of the lower dental arch model 62. The coordinates thus acquired are converted into coordinates in a coordinate system defined by reference marks PK1, PK2, PK3 on the basis of a relationship between the reference marks MK1, MK2, MK3 and the reference marks PK1, PK2, PK3. Then, changes in the coordinates after displacement of the lower dental arch model 62 are determined, and a region preliminarily specified in a three-dimensional image displayed on a display 5 is displaced on the basis of the coordinate changes thus determined.

Abstract: A control terminal section CON and an address terminal section ADDR of a test apparatus are respectively connected to those of a flash memory. A first to an (n?1) -th input and output terminal of the test apparatus are connected to data terminals of the flash memory. Further, an n-th and an (n+1)-th input and output terminal of the test apparatus are connected to a multifunctional terminal of the flash memory. The (n+1)-th input and output terminal is established as a dedicated terminal to receive data supplied to the test apparatus. The first to the n-th input and output terminal of the test apparatus are used to output the writing data to the flash memory, while the (n+1)-th input and output terminal is used to detect the completion signal output from the flash memory.
Abstract: A method for updating coefficients in a decision feedback equalizer (DFE). The DFE comprises an ISI canceler for canceling inter-symbol interference (ISI) from a plurality of first signals received from a channel. A first symbol comprising a set of the first signals is decoded to generate a decoded symbol. Then, a vector of error values computed as the difference between the decoded symbol, and the first symbol is obtained. According to the decoded symbol and the vector of the error values, a temp matrix is generated. Next, the values of the elements in every diagonal line of the temp matrix are averaged. Finally, the coefficients are updated by the Toeplitz Matrix.

Abstract: A shift scan chain includes logic circuit blocks 11-18 and scan registers 21-28 connected at stages succeeding them. The shift chain is divided into divisional chains including the scan registers 21-24 and the scan registers 25-28. In the test operation mode of a semiconductor integrated circuit, test input data TI are supplied in synchronism with a multiplied clock signal CKD at a frequency twice of that of a clock signal CK. The test input data TI are converted by a serial/parallel conversion circuit 40 into parallel data S41 and S42, which are respectively supplied to the head scan registers 21 and 25 of the corresponding divisional chains. The length of each divisional chains becomes ½, and a test time period can be shortened.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an igniter mechanism for a toy hand grenade which comprises a pull string ignition assembly, a housing that encases the pull string ignition assembly and a stopper that is located in the housing. The igniter mechanism may meet the requirements of safety, reliability and low production cost.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive body (11) having a charge transport layer (11d) as a surface layer. The charge transport layer (11d) as the surface layer is charged and exposed so that a latent image is formed thereon. In order to form a basic dot whose diameter is from 10 ?m to 25 ?m, a thickness t (?m) of the charge transport layer (11d) and a diameter D (?m) of the basic dot satisfy the relationship of t?D/2.
Abstract: IP network communication device which allows facsimile communication conforming to ITU-T recommendation V.34 in the network conforming to ITU-T recommendation T.38. This IP network communication device comprises a call controller for setting the call connection of a voice channel with another communication device, a voice controller which generates packets from voice data and facsimile data, sends the packets to the other communication device, and restores voice data or facsimile data from the packets received from the other communication device, and a digital signal processor which mediates the communication of voice data and facsimile data between an accommodated terminal and the voice controller. The digital signal processor turns ON the facsimile tone detecting function, echo canceling function, and fluctuation absorption buffer function if voice data is communicated, and turns these functions OFF if facsimile data is communicated.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method using Q-learning rule to accurately estimate the transmission cost for the multi-rate transmission control (MRTC) for RRC (radio resource control) in the WCDMA network. This method comprises the following iterative steps: first obtaining a system state and an action using an incoming request, a mean of interference and a variance of interference, then obtaining Q values based on the system state and the action. Afterwards, allocating an optimal action with the Q values, and when a new request with a new state arrives, going back to the first step and updating the Q values using the new state and a cost function based on the system state and the action.
Abstract: A synchronizing position detecting circuit includes a window size determining circuit, a synchronizing code generating circuit, a correlation circuit and a synchronizing position determining circuit. The window size determining circuit calculates a moved distance of a mobile station during a sleep time based on a moving speed and the sleep time and selects a window size based on a phase change of a distance signal corresponding to the moved distance. The code generating circuit repeatedly produces a synchronizing code that coincides with a part of a code of the distance signal and successively shifts a phase of the synchronizing code by a predetermined phase width so as to shift the window size. The correlation circuit calculates a correlation function between the synchronizing code and the distance signal. The position determining circuit determines a correlation function having a maximum value to detect the distance signal and outputs a synchronizing position signal representing a detecting position.
Abstract: A method for testing signals of integrated circuits (ICs). According to the invention, a first IC chip successively drives a number of test patterns one at a time. At the receiving end, a second IC chip latches in the test patterns one by one. Meanwhile, the second IC chip determines whether a currently latched test pattern is correct or not. If it is incorrect and at least an error bit occurs, depending on the type of the test patterns, the second IC chip indicates that there exists ground bounce or power bounce in a signal trace corresponding to the error bit.
