Abstract: An insect larva aerosol infection method for producing recombinant proteins and baculovirus bio-insecticides is disclosed. A liquid spray of budded form baculoviruses are employed to infect insect larvae in order to reduce the manpower for manual injections and the energy wasted in feeding infection technologies. The invention may be applied to the production of recombinant proteins and baculoviruses as the production platform for bio-insecticides.
Abstract: A low arc AC contactor comprises an on/off mechanism electromagnetic-controlled contact, a pulse power source generating circuit, a low arc trigger generating circuit, and a multifunctional fault-detecting circuit. The contactor converts an instantaneous strong current into strong pulse magnetic field energy to actuate contacts of mechanical portion of the contactor, so that the power source load is on or off. Each of the actuating process will be controlled by the electric circuit to perform at the lowest potential of AC voltage for reducing arc's destructive power. Moreover, the contactor uses photoelectric coupling circuits, in which it can be controlled by external low voltage signal commands, as well as providing protection from overload, phase loss, short circuit, and leakage current.
Abstract: A projection display apparatus, including an illumination system, a light integrator, a first mirror module, a second mirror module, a beam condensing module, a total internal reflection (TIR) prism, a light modulator, and a set of projection lenses. The illumination system generates an optical beam propagating along a first beam path in a first direction. The first and second mirror module folds the optical beam, which is imaged onto the light modulator. The modulator selectively reflects the optical beam so as to propagate along a fourth beam path in a fourth direction, where the first beam path and the fourth beam path are substantially perpendicular with respect to each other. The invention provides a compact projection system for easy carriage.
Abstract: A semiconductor device provided with a silicon carbide semiconductor substrate, and an ohmic metal layer joined to one surface of the silicon carbide semiconductor substrate in an ohmic contact and composed of a metal material whose silicide formation free energy and carbide formation free energy respectively take negative values. The ohmic metal layer is composed of, for example, a metal material such as molybdenum, titanium, chromium, manganese, zirconium, tantalum, or tungsten.
Abstract: A semiconductor device test apparatus according to the present invention includes a circuit board 103 and a film 105. A plurality of electrodes 103c are formed at the circuit board 103 at positions that face opposite a plurality of electrodes 201a at a device to be measured 201, whereas bumps 105b are formed at the surface of the film 105 located toward the device to be measured 201, at positions that face opposite the plurality of electrodes 201a at the device to be measured 201 and electrodes 105c are formed at the surface of the film 105 located toward the circuit board 103 at positions that face opposite the plurality of electrodes 103c at the circuit board 103. The bumps 105b formed at one surface of the film 105 and the electrodes 105c formed at another surface of the film 105 are electrically connected with each other via through holes 105d to support semiconductor devices having electrodes provided at a fine pitch and to improve durability.
Abstract: A retaining modular mechanism for a hard disk and a modular frame thereof simplifies the conventional process of locking and unlocking a hard disk and reduces assembly time. Fixing holes are applied on two sides of a hard disk that includes a receiving housing and a modular frame. The receiving housing has a bottom board and a side board. The modular frame has a base positioned on the bottom board, a locking part and an elastic element positioned between the base and a locking part. The locking part has a bottom wall slidably mounted on the base, and a sidewall positioned on the side board of the receiving housing. The base has a fixing sidewall opposite the sidewall of the locking part. The fixing sidewall and the sidewall of the locking part are respectively formed with a plurality of fixing pins. The fixing pins insert into the fixing holes.
Abstract: A stepped dimming ballast comprising a filter and rectifier circuit (1), a DC high voltage stabilizing circuit (2), a frequency control and switch circuit (3), a load current feedback circuit (5), a voltage signal processing circuit (6) and a voltage signal sampling circuit (7). The present invention is adapted for use in conjunction with a silicon controlled rectifier dimmer and/or a regular light switch whereby it is novel in structure and able to effect dimming in two predetermined and reliable operation modes.
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus and a method for rapid and precise scanning of the three-dimensional (3-D) profile of a dental cast. Disclosed is a measurement apparatus comprising two symmetrically arranged optical projection units and plural image capturing units each including optical components and optical lenses. The geometrical relationship between the optical projection units and the plaster dental cast are such arranged to ensure precise projection of laser beams and comprehensive measurement. The plural image capturing units serve to capture the reflected, structured light patterns, based on which patterns a 3-D occlusal profile is rapidly and precisely calculated through the triangulation principle, thereby allowing efficient and precise measurement of the 3-D occlusal profile of the plaster dental cast.

Abstract: A large “hit range in offense” is applied to a player character 41 on an offense side, and a small “hit range in defense” is applied to player characters 42 and 43 on a defense side. When a ball is free, a “normal hit range” is applied to each player character. As mentioned above, the three hit ranges having different sizes are provided and the applied hit ranges are switched depending on situations. Thus, as compared with a case in which the size of the hit range is constant, pass of the ball is easily successful. Therefore, a beginner, who is strange to a video game machine, can easily pass the ball when the player character in an opponent team steals the ball, and organized offense can be easily performed.
Abstract: A hand-operated inflator with dual cylinder is provided. Once the cylinders are pulled out on two sides of the central block to form a line axially, and a clamp plate at mid point in between the two cylinders is turned to the transversal position to lock the cylinders in place, the inflator is set for refilling operation. The two cylinders can be folded back when the clamp plate is released, making it easy for carrying and storage with the length reduced by half. The inflator is able to inflate an object with faster rate as compared with the conventional inflators with only one air cylinder. Moreover, the central block can be attached with a pressure meter. If the measured air pressure inside the object gets excessively high, air can be safely released through an over pressure valve.
Abstract: A multilevel phase change memory element and operating method and electrodes, which are configured in a parallel structure to form a memory cell. A voltage-drive mode is employed to control and drive the memory element such that multilevel memory states may be achieved by imposing different voltage levels. The provided multilevel phase-change memory element has more bits and higher capacity than that of a memory element with a single phase-change layer.
Abstract: A display includes a monitor module, a base and a shielding apparatus. The base is coupled to the monitor module, and the shielding apparatus is disposed between the base and the monitor module. The shielding apparatus includes a magnetic core and a non-flexible coiled device having a number of fixed shape coils. The coiled device is put through the magnetic core so that the magnetic core is selectively surrounded by at least one of the coils of the coiled device. The monitor module is therefore grounded via the shielding apparatus.
Abstract: A paper pickup mechanism mounted in a feeder includes several driving gears, connecting rods, a pickup roller and a twist restricting gear. By means of the twist restricting gear, the paper pickup mechanism provides an equal pickup force under different paper loads. Furthermore, the operational precision of the pickup roller is improved via relative motion with the twist restricting gear.

Abstract: A method for verifying a programmed flash memory. When reading a memory cell, a voltage applied to a drain of the memory cell is a read drain voltage. First, a word line is enabled by applying a verification gate voltage. Next, a first bit line, which is connected to the drain of the memory cell, is enabled and a verification drain voltage, which is higher than the read drain voltage, is applied to the first bit line. Then, a second bit line is enabled and grounded. Thereafter, a third bit line is enabled and a verification isolation voltage is applied. Then, a drain current of the first bit line is sensed, wherein the drain current flows through the first bit line, the memory cell, and the second bit line. Finally, it is judged whether or not the memory cell is successfully programmed according to the drain current.
Abstract: An array optical sub-assembly includes a base seat, an integrated circuit, a transparent substrate and a photoelectric element. The integrated circuit and the photoelectric element are bonded respectively to the base seat and the transparent substrate. The base seat and the transparent substrate form a sealed space to protect the elements. The photoelectric element and the integrated circuit are separated to avoid thermal interference between the photoelectric element and the integrated circuit. Therefore total performance is increased and fabrication difficulty is reduced.
