  • Patent number: 7285489
Abstract: In a dual damascene process for forming a multi-layer low-k dielectric interconnect, the formation of each layer of interconnect comprises deposition of a first low-k dielectric layer, etching of the first low-k dielectric layer to form two dual damascene vias, formation of two Cu conductor plugs enclosed with barrier layers in the two dual damascene vias, etching of the first low-k dielectric layer between the two dual damascene vias to form a trench, and spin-on of a second low-k dielectric layer filled in the trench. The spin-on low-k dielectric layer is selected to have a dielectric constant smaller than that of the first low-k dielectric layer to reduce the equivalent dielectric constant in the layer of interconnect.

  • Patent number: 7282042
Abstract: A safety syringe has a simple structure, is convenient to use, and has a low cost. The safety syringe includes a sliding casing, a needle, a syringe barrel, a piston, a latching casing, a spring and a plunger inside the syringe barrel. The safety syringe can be easily used to carry out an injection and has a safety mechanism that can be actuated using a single hand. The sliding casing can be automatically positioned and locked in two directions. This design guarantees that, during processing of the syringe after it is used, the needle's point is always protected by the sliding casing. The safey syringe is also auto-locking; after it has been used, the plunger is locked in the syringe barrel and cannot be pulled out any longer. Any attempt to use the syringe again will cause the plunger to be broken and the syringe to be damaged, thus ensuring a one-time use.

  • Patent number: 7278839
Abstract: A multi-stage vacuum pump includes a plurality of casings connected in series and each casing defining a respective compression chamber, a plurality of partition plates each set in between each two casings. When compressed by rotors at shafts in one compression chamber, compressed air passes through the air path formed in the corresponding partition plate to the next compression chamber for further compression, and finally compressed air passes to the last compression chamber through the air path formed in the last partition plate. Because the invention is designed to let compressed air directly pass through the air path in each partition plate, the outer diameter and volume of the multi-stage vacuum pump can be minimized to reduce the weight and the manufacturing cost.

  • Patent number: 7276972
Abstract: A distributed amplifier with a simple structure that permits miniaturization of circuit in which the input-side transmission line of the distributed amplifier is constituted by a coplanar line having a signal line and a ground face formed on the upper face of a dielectric substrate and the output-side transmission line of the distributed amplifier is constituted by a microstrip line having a signal line formed on the upper face of the dielectric substrate and a ground face formed on the lower face of the dielectric substrate. In addition, a plurality of amplification transistors is formed on the upper face of the dielectric substrate and each of the electrodes is connected to the signal line or the ground face that is formed on the upper face of the dielectric substrate. Because a large transistor-drive current does not flow to the input-side transmission line, the signal line can be made narrow and there is no increase in the required surface area even in the case of a coplanar line.

  • Patent number: 7274987
Abstract: When detecting and recording vehicle data items corresponding to evaluation parameters for fuel-efficient driving (the parameters may include, for example, the speed of the vehicle, the average engine speed during an upshift, or an idle time), it is determined which one of first to N-th preliminarily-set traveling conditions (which may be, for example, highway driving, open-road driving, or idling) a current traveling condition belongs to. The vehicle data items are then recorded according to the determined traveling condition. The amount of fuel consumed in the corresponding traveling condition is also recorded. Each of the vehicle data items of the corresponding traveling condition is given an evaluation score with respect to an evaluation standard. Each evaluation score is then corrected based on a rate of fuel consumption in the corresponding traveling condition. Thus, the evaluation score is corrected in view of the traveling condition.

  • Patent number: 7275002
Abstract: An islanding detection and protection method of a parallel-type power converter is proposed, which performs perturbation to a power system to detect the frequency of the system voltage and the variation of the magnitude of the negative-sequence voltage as the basis for deciding the occurrence of an islanding operation. When the system operates normally, the frequency or phase and magnitude of the system voltage and the magnitude of the negative-sequence voltage won't be affected by the perturbation. On the other hand, if an islanding operation occurs, this perturbation will cause an apparent drift of the frequency or phase and magnitude of the system voltage and the magnitude of the negative-sequence voltage. Through detection of this apparent drift, the perturbation can be amplified by means of positive feedback to quickly detect the islanding operation phenomenon and trigger the protection mechanism.
