  • Patent number: 4015579
Abstract: A space heater incorporating a cabinet having a combustion chamber; there being doors for closing and opening in the front wall of the cabinet which when opened permit front loading of the cabinet for service of the latter as a conventional fire place. With said doors closed, the heater may be used for a thermostatically controlled convection type heater with there being air defining passageways within said combustion chamber for flow about and through a firebox defined by a grate and liner components disposed spacedly from the walls of said cabinet. When used as a convection type heater, introduction of air to the combustion chamber is controlled by a thermostatic element suitably connected to a draft box drawer.

  • Patent number: 4006392
Abstract: An electronic door control system is disclosed having a d.c. motor rotatable in one direction for opening a door and in the opposite direction for closing the door. One or more semiconductor devices (preferably SCR's) supply d.c. power to the motor from an a.c. power source when rendered conductive. A polarity selecting circuit controls the polarity of d.c. power supplied to the motor and thus its rotational direction. A sensor (e.g. floor mat) senses body pressure near the door to enable conduction of the semiconductor device and provide a first d.c. power polarity for a predetermined period to open the door. A circuit reverses the polarity after the door is opened, thereby closing the door. A speed control circuit responsive to counterelectromotive force developed by the motor effectively controllably varies the conductivity of the semiconductor device in a sense tending normally to cause motor rotation, and thereby door movement, at a predetermined speed.

Abstract: A pallet construction for use with detachable tiering frames, which pallet is fabricated of metal having parallel stringers with a plurality of longitudinally spaced-apart deck members extending transversely therebetween which latter are fixed, as by welding, to said stringers. Said pallet may be adapted for use with tiering frames of the center post or corner post type by means of a unique support member fixed, in the former case, to the intermediate zone of the under face of the stringers and end deck members, and in the latter case to the ends of said stringers. Said supports each incorporate a surface bearing portion for engaging a portion of the underlying tiering frame; there being an adjacent inclined portion which serves as a detent to inhibit shifting of the pallet as so supported while also acting cammingly to assist in positioning of such pallet. Each support has a base portion for engaging a support surface.

  • Patent number: 3991906
Abstract: A label dispensing machine which is adapted to receive a supply of independent rolls of backing material each carrying readily detachable, adhesive coated labels thereon. A parting or discharge edge is provided for movement thereover of the backing strips to cause withdrawal of the strip from the supported labels for freeing of the latter. A control shaft is presented for supporting keys corresponding to each independent roll, said keys being so engaged upon said shaft as to effect rocking of the same upon depression of any of such keys; there being a prime mover, a normally open control switch therefor, and with a drive shaft operatively engaged to said prime mover. Said control shaft mounts an arm for closing said control switch upon rocking of the shaft pursuant to key depression. Each key is so disposed with respect to the drive shaft that upon depression of each key the same cooperates with the drive shaft to pull the selected backing strip over said discharge edge.
