Abstract: A dross press including a press head and skim box and including a head system comprising pressing means for pressing the dross in said skim box, said press means including means for providing a rocking movement for said press head. Said means comprise two hydraulic rams spaced apart on diametrically opposite sides of the press head.
Abstract: A sorting tray (10) includes a substantially planar sorting surface (12) bounded by an upwardly- and outwardly-extending sidewall (14). The sorting surface (12) includes a sorting portion (20) and a nozzle portion (22). The nozzle portion (22) necks down into a spout (16) that extends through the sidewall (14). The spout (16) is offset from the centerline (60) of the sorting surface (12) such that the spout (16) is offset. A flange (44) extends outwardly and downwardly from the top of the sidewall and presents a pair of measuring devices (50,52) and a hanger (46). The sorting tray (10) is particularly useful for assisting a person in sorting numerous differently-sized small objects, such as hardware.
Abstract: A cutter assembly for severing pieces from a length of material and advanced into proximity thereto includes a driven anvil roll and a driven rotary cutter roll disposed in opposed relation with each whereby the length of material is advanced between the rolls for cutting. The cutter roll carries at least one knife blade on its periphery to cut the material against the anvil roll into predetermined lengths as it is advanced between the rolls. The at least one knife of the cutter roll is mounted at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the cutter roll so as to engage the material in a shearing motion and the cutter roll is attached to the anvil roll and mounted so as to be movable away from the anvil roll against the force of resilient means as the knife contacts the anvil roll during rotation. The degree of such movement may be adjusted by the use of shims removably placed between the resilient means and the mounting point of the cutter roll.
Abstract: A fluid dispenser which discharges a predetermined amount of fluid upon actuation of a actuator includes a counter and at least two timers for use by users of the device. The apparatus further includes a switch coupled to the actuator wherein the switch generates a use signal. An operating circuit is carried by the dispenser and provides a processor which receives the use signal and increments or decrements a counter by one. Additionally, the processor generates a flag signal to indicate which of the timers is in use. Each timer has associated therewith a distinct sensor output such as a sound or light to indicate to the user the start of a washing cycle and completion thereof. In the event more than two users are present, the sensor output is not provided. However, a counting event is still recognized. Of course, multiple users of the device or sensor outputs could be provided if desired.
Abstract: The dross pot comprises a generally conical vessel with a plurality of internal upstanding ribs which divide the dross pot into a plurality of segments and also provide a plurality of draining holes for molten metal.
Abstract: A camisole-like garment for use by medical patients includes front and rear segments with the front segment divided into two panels which may be selectively, temporarily closed. The garment includes a yoke-like neck area and arm-receiving openings. Additional side openings are provided adjacent the line of joinder of the front and rear segments to provide for access for drainage tubes or the like and at least one pocket is formed on the outer surface of at least one of the front panels, also for the receipt of a drainage bulb associated with the drainage tube. Prosthesis-receiving pockets may also be provided on the inner surfaces of the front panels.
Abstract: A scrap cutting assembly for use in a reciprocating press in which a cutter is carried on a ram which reciprocates with respect to a fixed base to form and cut material passing through the press includes an exit plate mounted on the press base adjacent the material exit point and a shutter spring and backing spring attached to the exit plate. The exit plate has a tapered bottom surface which tapers upwardly toward the ram and the shutter spring and backing spring are attached to and lie along the bottom tapered surface with one end of the shutter spring extending beyond the end of the exit plate and slightly above the top surface thereof so as to support the material as it is fed through the press. The shutter spring is depressed by the cutter as the ram and cutter descend to sever the material.
Abstract: A promotional banner (10) includes a substantially planar, flexible base sheet (12) that defines a base plane (24). The base sheet (12) supports printing (18,20) that conveys information to the target audience. The banner (10) includes a raised area (22) that may be in any selected shape. The raised area (22) projects outwardly from the base plane (24) such that it provides the banner (10) with a three-dimensional quality. The raised area (22) is formed by vacuum-forming the base sheet (12) over a mold in the shape of the raised area (22). The raised area (22) has a generally curved cross-section terminating in edges (26,28) that are coplanar with the base plane (24). The raised area (22) may also define a common edge (32) that may be either coplanar with the base plane (24) or somewhat above the base plane (24).
Abstract: A bladder assembly for operating a dispenser for fluid material. The dispenser includes a hinged pressure bar movable into and out of collapsing engagement with a collapsible tube which leads from a source of supply of the material to be dispensed. The bladder assembly includes a flexible bladder in fluid communication with a foot pump. The bladder is removably located within the dispenser behind the pressure bar so that inflation of the bladder by pumping air into it through a hose from the foot pump moves the pressure bar into collapsing engagement with the tube to dispense the material.

Abstract: The design of the press head includes concave profile sides to enable a greater amount of aluminium dross to be trapped in a skim box as the press head descends. The end of the head forms a spike which can pass through a central hole in the skim box to clear the hole allowing free drainage of molten aluminium.
Abstract: A dispenser for fluid materials in which at least two replaceable cartridges having collapsible tubes for conducting the material to nozzles on the distal ends of the tubes. The dispenser includes a movable carriage which releasably holds the tubes and carries a platen against which the tubes may be collapsed to expel the material. The dispenser cover carries an operating handle bearing a compression pad. The carriage is movable to bring one or the other of the tubes into alignment with the compression pad so that the selected tube can be collapsed against the platen upon actuation of the operating handle.
