Abstract: A scan-lock control device is provided for use with a high frequency receiver in a manner which adds frequency scanning and lock-up functions to the receiver without affecting any of the receiver's other functions. The scan-lock control incorporates an interface unit which can be operatively connected to the receiver to interconnect scanning and lock-up circuits to the receiver. The scan-lock device also incorporates a novel multiplexer unit which is modular and expandable and has a plurality of plug-in cards operatively associated therewith; each card having programmed thereon a frequency data channel which may be selectively scanned.

Abstract: A portable building of the type having a floor, side walls and a roof structurally interconnected to form an integral building unit, the building also including skid means for engaging the ground and supporting the building in a free-standing condition, reinforced slide means being formed beneath the building floor for engaging and supporting structural chassis members of a transport vehicle while withstanding stress of sliding the building onto and off of the vehicle during loading and unloading, and means structurally interconnected with the building for sliding it onto and off of the vehicle, the building preferably being of modular construction and including self-contained service means such as air conditioning, electrical service and the like.

Abstract: A pan for separating gold or other precious heavy metals from wet sand or gravel is provided with a round bottom joined to obliquely rising sides at the circumference. Near the center of the bottom of the pan is an aperture leading to a trough which is formed integrally with the bottom and slopes downwardly therefrom. Within the trough is a ladder-like structure having a plurality of steps which collect the heavy metal particles from the dross.

Abstract: A novelty cap suitable for use as a head covering is provided with the appearance of one of a family of animals. The caps are all provided with at least one movable animal feature which a wearer of the cap may selectively operate by pulling on string connectors looped underneath the cap wearer's chin.

Abstract: An improved tobacco smoke filter is provided with a novel arrangement of restricted passageways and expansion chambers which entrains the smoke so that greater diffusion thereof occurs in a first expansion chamber and greater and more efficient mixing with the ambient air occurs in a second expansion chamber than was previously possible in prior art devices, so that more tar and nicotine are removed and greater cooling of the smoke is provided. Indexing and indicating means are provided on the device so that the operator thereof may easily select the amount of ambient air desired for admission into the second expansion chamber.

Abstract: A mounting assembly for supporting a side-mounted implement such as a mower attachment or the like upon a tractor includes a central mounting beam extending longitudinally beneath the tractor with front and rear saddles connecting the beam with the front housing and rear tractor axle, a support arm assembly interconnecting the implement with a central portion of the beam so that the weight of the implement or reaction forces from the support arm assembly and implement are transferred directly to the front housing and rear axle of the tractor.

Abstract: An apparatus for and method of forming accurate hinge axis tooth positioners prepares models of the upper and lower teeth of a patient with the teeth relocated to predetermined positions, takes an interocclusal record of the prepared models mounted on an articulator in the occlusal position but spaced apart the thickness of the tooth positioner material, duplicates the models and mounts them on a correlator in indexed engagement with the interocclusal record, removes the interocclusal record from between the duplicated models and substitutes therein a resilient deformable material, returns the duplicated models to the established interocclusal record position to form impressions of the teeth in the material, and cures the material through the application of heat.
