  • Patent number: 4251061
Abstract: A snap roller utilized as a snatch lock employs a pulley and a rod fabricated from a wire-like spring material to which the pulley is journalled. The rod has a portion of its length, located substantially in the central regions thereof to which the pulley is journalled. A pair of portions of the length of the wire-like rod extends radially outwardly from the longitudinal axis of the pulley in a direction substantially parallel to one another. The ends of the wire-like rod are formed into oppositely directed hooks such that each of the distal ends approach, and if desired contact the opposed length of the pair of portions of the wire-like rod. In use, a rope or line may be passed between the hook-like ends so so as to engage a groove in the pulley due to the fact that each hook-like end resides in planes that are skew to one another allowing the distal ends of the hooks to be forced outwardly from the opposed one of the pair of portions of the wire-like rod.

  • Patent number: 4241504
Abstract: A pocket sized record album opener that is adapted to be held in the hand and contains a recessed cutting edge that slidably engages the cellophane bridge over the open mouth of an album jacket thereby opening the same, all the while, the cutting edge being free of the actual record and the user's hand. In one embodiment, a pair of serrated disk-like cutting wheels are mounted on spaced apart parallel axles such that their lateral surfaces are at different distances from a flat fence-like guide surface. The fence-like guide surface may be moved relative to the position of the pair of serrated disc-like cutting wheels, thereby permitting the apparatus to be utilized in cutting covers, whereby the cuts in the covers to be made vary in distance from the surface on which the fence moves. A cover is pivotably secured to the housing carrying the axle, acting as a cover for the fence-like guiding surface and the exposed portion of the serrated cutting wheels.

  • Patent number: 4237527
Abstract: This disclosure pertains to a flashlight housing having a corrugated flexible end adjacent the lamp and reflector opening. A cap at the other end, when removed permits the inclusion of the battery within the housing. The center pole of the lamp and one end of a conducting strip is urged into contact with the opposed terminals of the battery by the bias forces exerted by the corrugations in the case upon the lamp and reflector associated therewith. The other end of the conducting strip may be forced into electrical contact with the other pole of the lamp, by way of the non-reflecting side of the reflector when a portion of the corrugations are manually depressed inwardly, thereby energizing the lamp.

  • Patent number: 4232396
Abstract: A television channel lock-out apparatus utilizes a plurality of individual circuits, each comprising at least one impedance element in series with a switch. The individual series of circuits are all disposed in parallel and are connected to a single switch in series therewith, and, if desired, another impedance element. The overall apparatus is disposed in parallel with any portion of a television receiver which carries the individual radio frequency signals for all of the channels handled by the television receiver, or if desired, in parallel with the local oscillator of the receiver. In operation, any one or more individual series circuit switch is closed, and when the master series switch is closed, the impedance elements disposed in electrical relationship with one another either presents a series impedance with the radio frequency signal, or shift the frequency of the local oscillator so as to preclude the receiver operating on one or more selected television channels.

  • Patent number: 4230316
Abstract: A miniature baseball board game is played on a game board carrying color coded indicia thereon, having a predetermined play action surface area, a predetermined play non-action surface area, and having respective pluralities of predetermined apertures for receiving scoring markers therein. A game piece, or die, carrying indicia thereon determines the play action on the board by a throw of the game piece. There is positional interrelationship between the game board surface and game piece, according to the rules of play insofar as determining the play action recorded on the game piece. Markers are provided which are received in the apertures in the board to record the play action thereon, in accordance with the rules of baseball.

  • Patent number: 4222175
Abstract: An alignment sight for hand drills utilizes a pair of sights, preferably a fixed tool, a unitary sheet, for mounting onto the exterior surface of an electrical hand tool of the hand drill variety. The sights are arranged so that the sight line extends perfectly parallel to the longitudinal axis located in the center of the chuck of the hand drill. In use, a user marks a spot on the work piece a fixed distance from the center of the hole to be drilled. Positioning the tip of the drill bit at the location of the hole, and locating the drill bit so that it extends substantially normal to the plane of the work piece, permits the user to maintain the sights aligned with the mark thereby forever maintaining the longitudinal axis of the drill bit perfectly normal to the surface of the work piece, providing thereby, a hole extending at right angles to the surface of the work piece.

  • Patent number: 4215778
Abstract: An inflatable instrument case for musical instruments includes upper and lower complementary sections, each including an inner wall and an outer wall member, forming a cavity therein between. Such cavity is inflatable. Each inner wall, of each complementary section, includes a portion thereof having an inflatable section which is independently inflatable from the cavity in each complementary section. Thus, an interior cavity is provided, surrounded by an inflatable structure, such that the inflatable structure is encapsulated within the cavities formed within the complementary sections. The exterior surface of each complementary section may be covered with a flexible material, simulating a leather-like appearance. A musical instrument may be carried within the structure, totally protected as if by floating within a column of air, and surrounded by the interior inflatable covering thereover.
