  • Patent number: 4210120
Abstract: A furnace peep sight utilizes a pair of glass plates removeably mounted within passageways of a truncated conical body journaled for rotation and partly mounted within the wall of a furnace. A passageway, useful for sighting purposes, passes through both of the glass plates extending transverse to the longitudinal axis of the body so as to position, in one angular location of the body, one of the glasses inwardly towards the interior of the furnace and the other glass plate located outwardly from the exterior surface of the wall. Further rotation of the body permits the glass plates to be aligned transverse to a sight hole otherwise coaxially aligned the openings in the body.

  • Patent number: 4199831
Abstract: A mattress securing apparatus utilizes four right angle corner guards disposed at the corners of a mattress resting on a device having a mattress supporting surface therein such as a box spring to prevent lateral displacement of the mattress relative to the supporting surface. A plate, affixed to each corner guard and perpendicular to the right angle leg portions thereof is located between the supporting surface and the lowermost surface of the mattress. A harness, including an elastic member is located in criss cross fashion, connecting the four corner guards together, urging the corner guards in touching engagement with the corners of the mattress and mattress supporting device. • Patent number: 4199454
Abstract: This disclosure pertains to a filter apparatus utilizing a helically wound spring element adapted with a cap closing one end thereof. The other end of the spring is fed with the liquid or gas which is to be filtered. The spring may be permanently magnetized, or when electrically energized, be an electromagnet which magnetically constrains particles possessing magnetic properties within the chamber formed by the capped spring. The core of the spring may contain permanent magnets therein. The spring may be adjustably tensioned by an axially aligned screw which selectively compresses or elongates the spring thereby altering the opening size between the turns of the spring. The adjustment screw may be fabricated from a magnetic material causing the magnetic field to be concentrated thereabout, increasing the effectiveness of retaining magnetically sensitive particles within the confines of the spring.

  • Patent number: 4186388
Abstract: A proximity detector preferably utilizes a photoelectric cell, responsive to light beams emanating from a lamp carried by a tripod supported light projecting apparatus. Such apparatus includes a height adjustment utilizing a telescoping pair of tubes, one of which is supported by three tripod legs, each of which is adjustable in height. The lowermost regions of the tripod legs carry lockable wheels. The tubes are calibrated together with one another and indicate the total height of the light source utilizing a calibrated scale. The housing carrying the light source may be tiltable and locked into such position by a set screw arrangement. A filter may be utilized so as to provide polarized light beams or colored light beams, as desired. Another housing, equivalent to the housing utilized to carry the light source, encloses a photoelectric cell and a timer. When the light beam is interrupted feeding the photoelectric cell, the timer stops to operate and simultaneously an audible and visual alarm is sounded.
