Abstract: There is disclosed a device for driving four wheels of a car at all times. In this device, a differential is provided between the left front wheel shaft and right rear wheel shaft and likewise a differential is also provided between the right front wheel shaft and left rear wheel shaft so that said two differentials can be driven by the same driving source.

Abstract: A tension contol method for a nutrunner performed by the use of a nutrunner and a controller associated with each other. In accordance with the present invention, the fastening torque T.sub.f of the torque transducer of the nutrunner at an intermediate position of a fixed first rotation angle .theta. included in a middle range from the seating of a controlled screw on a tightened object to the final fastening position of the screw is stored. The motor of the nutrunner is stopped at a position of a second rotation angle (.theta.+.alpha.) larger than the first rotation angle by a fixed value .alpha.. The motor of the nutrunner is reversed at the second rotation angle (.theta.+.alpha.). A return torque T.sub.r of the motor at the position of the first rotation angle .theta. is stored. The ratio of the fastening torque T.sub.f to a bolt tension F applied to the screw is calculated by the use of a difference between the fastening torque T.sub.f and the return torque T.sub.
Abstract: A seal on a drive shaft of an extrusion machine having a housing, is provided by a sealing chamber through which the shaft, for example the drive shaft of the shear spindle, extends in entering the housing, and a sealing screw thread on a portion of the shaft in the sealing chamber, the sealing screw thread having a screw direction for propelling material toward the interior of the housing. Sealing material in the form of granular plastic material is fed to the sealing chamber at a controlled rate by a device having a storage container for the granular plastic material, the bottom of the container having a funnel feeding the granular plastic material into an elongate cavity which communicates with the sealing chamber and in which the piston rod of a piston-cylinder unit is reciprocable to propel the granular plastic material into the sealing chamber. The pressure inside the sealing chamber is sensed and the operation of the piston-cylinder unit is controlled to maintain the pressure approximately constant.
Abstract: A spatial light modulator is disclosed, in which a low dark resistance single-crystal plate is used which is formed of Bi.sub.12 MO.sub.20 (where M is Si, Ge or Ti) or similar type crystal, doped with phosphorus (P) in the range of 0.03.ltoreq.P.ltoreq.0.2 in atomic percentage to provide a dark resistivity far lower than that of an undoped crystal, and a high dark resistance layer, which is of the same crystal structure as that of the single-crystal plate and lattice-matched therewith and has photoconductivity, electro-optic effect and a high dark resistivity, is provided on the light incident side of the single-crystal plate. A tapered low dark resistance single-crystal plate may be used which is formed of Bi.sub.12 MO.sub.20 (where M=Si, Ge, or Ti) or similar sillenite type crystal, doped with phosphorus (P) in the range of 0.03.ltoreq.P.ltoreq.0.
Abstract: An automatic silk stretching apparatus for stretching silk on a silk screen printing frame is provided. At first silk is stretched to four sides by first stage stretching by cramp table and second stage stretching by stretchers on the cramp table. From lower side of the cramped silk, a printing frame on an elevator table is lifted and urges the silk. Adhesive is applied on the frame, and is forcibly dried. Then, the excess silk surrounding the frame is cut. The silk stretched frame is discharged, an empty frame is fed and further new silk is cramped.
Abstract: A device for protecting track relays from electrical disturbances originating from a train's traction current. The device has: a control signal generator; a signal inverter, to invert periodically the polarity of the signal emitted; and a receiver for the control signal. A distinguishing circuit is provided downstream from the receiver for assessing the frequencies forming the receive signal and switching the track relay to the "line clear" position only after recognition of the frequencies forming the periodically inverted control signal.

Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for controlling equipment for treating rubber and or plastic strand-form products produced by an extruder and/or calender, such equipment having at least one conveyor. The apparatus has a feeler roll carried by at least one arm on a rotatable shaft and engageable with the strand-form product at the end of a conveyor or between two conveyors of the treating equipment. On one end of the shaft there is a cam disc the position of which is sensed by an inductive pick-up to produce a signal indicative of the angular position of the shaft. The shaft is rotatable to vary the position of the feeler roll, by a pneumatic servo motor actuating a rack meshing with a gear wheel fixed on the shaft. The servo motor is controlled by a control circuit which receives the position indicating signal.
Abstract: A television signal recording and reproducing system is disclosed in which the polarity of a television signal is inverted in polarity prior to its recording on an optical recording medium and is again inverted when it is reproduced to avoid any serious degradation of picture quality.

Abstract: A 3.5-in. disk case is stored into a rotary holding frame through transfer means having a group of rollers, the intermediate portion of a printed label is stuck to the upper end surface of the disk while the holding frame is brought upright from the horizontal state, and the label is brought into pressure contact with, and automatically attached to, both surfaces of the disk when the holding frame is returned to the horizontal position and the disk is passed through the transfer means in the opposite direction.
Abstract: Disclosed is a thermoplastic resin composition formed by melt-kneading at a temperature of 300.degree. to 340.degree. C. a composition comprising (a) 10 to 95% by weight of a polyphenylene sulfide resin; (b) 90 to 5% by weight of a crystalline resin composed mainly of 3-methyl-1-butene, each of the amount of the components (a) and (b) being based on the sum of the components (a) and (b); (c) 5 to 20 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the sum of the components (a) and (b) of a partially hydrogenated alkenyl aromatic compound-conjugated diene copolymer; and (d) up to 150 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the sum of the components (a) and (b) of a fibrous filler. In this composition, the poor moldability of the polyphenylene sulfide resin is improved and the poor rigidity at a high temperature of the 3-methyl-1-butene polymer is improved, and excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance and mechanical strength inherently possessed by both the resins are retained.

Abstract: A process for microencapsulating bioactive substances in biocompatible polymers according to the phase-separation principle, wherein an excess of an ethyl or isopropyl ester of a straight-chain fatty acid having 12-18 carbon atoms is used as the hardening liquid, and the pharmaceutical compositions containing the microcapsules prepared by this process. Isopropyl myristate and isopropyl palmitate are preferred hardening liquids.
Abstract: An extruder head for producing profiles of rubber and/or plastic mixtures has a stationay main part which has a forward face in which the discharge ends of at least two extruders, rigid with the stationary main part open. The stationary main part has a transverse pivot shaft at one side of the forward face and, at the side opposite the pivot shaft, an abutment which projects forwardly of the forward face. A movable main part is pivoted, with play, on the pivot shaft and is swingable between a closed position in which it overlies the forward face and an open position. An extrusion die unit is disposed between the outboard end of the movable main part and the abutment. Flow channels between the movable main part and the stationary main part lead from the extruders to the extrusion die unit.

Abstract: Automatic apparatus for cleaning dental handpieces and turbines is in the form of a housing having a compartment with hinged door. Standard motor noses project down from the top of the compartment to receive handpieces or turbines to be cleaned. Cleaning fluids, namely water, a disinfectant and oil are supplied sequentially to the motor noses while internal shafts of the motor noses are rotated by a set of pinions to drive the handpieces or turbines while the fluids are passed through them. The hinged door has an inflatable tube seal.

Abstract: Apparatus for producing, from rubber and/or plastic mixtures, thin wall tubes for bicycle and motorcycle tires includes an extruder followed by a belt conveyor for transporting the extruded tube blank from the extruder, a scale for weighing the tube blank, another belt conveyor, rolls for forming the blank to a predetermined cross sectional shape and a light source on one side of the tube blank and a light receiver on the opposite side of the tube blank for measuring a transverse dimension of the shaped tube blank and thereby its circumferences. A blower supplies to the interior of the tube blank a mixture of air and powder which is removed by an exhaust blower which is regulated to control the air pressure in the tube blank. The rate of withdrawal of the tube blank from the extruder by the conveyor and the air pressure inside the tube blank are controlled by outputs of the scale and the transverse dimension measuring light receiver.
Abstract: A window stay is provided for a casement window so that its window sash is shifted outwardly from the window frame as it is being opened. The window stay comprises a first arm, a second arm and a third arm associated with a driving rod. The first arm has points pivotally attached to the window sash and the window frame and swings the window sash in relation to the window frame as the driving rod is operated. The second arm has points respectively pivotally attached to the window sash and the driving rod swings the window sash in relation to the first arm as the driving rod is operated. The third arm has points respectively pivotally attached to the first arm and the driving rod and swings the first arm in relation to the window frame in accordance with the movement of the driving rod. The window stay is provided with a lock for the window sash, operated by the acting rod.
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for treating objects with UHF-engergy comprising an elongated treating chamber, which is provided with UHF traps at entrance and exit ends, through which a conveyor runs and on its upper side is provided with UHF energy inputs which are connected by waveguides with their energy source, whereby parts of the upper side of the treating chamber are formed as hinged or removable covers. It is the object of the invention to provide an apparatus for treating products with UHF-energy which with simple construction permits an opening of the treating chamber from above over its entire length. The invention consists therein, that also those parts of the upper side of the treatment chamber which are provide with UHF inputs are formed as hinged or removable covers and that the waveguide leading from the UHF energy source to the UHF inputs to the treating chamber is formed flexible or comprise at least two separable parts.
