  • Patent number: 4680952
Abstract: A process for the production and further processing of strands for Bowden cables of several wires stranded together by twisting, comprising dressing the strands after stranding between reversing rolls, subsequently stretching and again dressing between reversing rolls. Dressing is effected prior to stretching in several stages with decreasing bending radii and after the stretching again in several stages with increasing bending radii, while the stretching is performed with a force approximately within the area of the elastic limit, corresponding to 45% to 70%, preferably to 55% and 65% of the ultimate tensile strength of the strand.

  • Patent number: 4680038
Abstract: A filtering apparatus for separation of solids from a solid carrying fluid arranged in a housing and having a material flow inlet. The housing is divided into an upper collector chamber and a lower area by an intermediate separating wall. One or more candle filters made up of two concentrically arranged metal fabric filter cylinders defining an annular space therebetween the arranged in a material flow area of the housing and may be surrounded by an immersion tube. A plurality of Laval nozzles are arranged above each candle filter in the collector chamber and are utilized for producing an enhanced injection reverse flushing effect to remove solids adhering to the candle filters. The annular cylindrical configuration of the candle filters greatly enhances the filtering surface area.

  • Patent number: 4677999
Abstract: This canopy system is supported by alternate poles and features edge cords to stress the center of the canopy fabric to reduce sag. The cords are attached adjacent each edge of each canopy segment and resembles a bell curve with respect to that edge. Longitudinal stresses placed on each cord urge the cord to straighten. As the cords straighten, they tension the center of the fabric without undue strain on the edge fabric. The result is a large area canopy with few interior poles and few peak elevations to the affected by wind forces.

  • Patent number: 4678281
Abstract: Circuit layout for the actuation of liquid crystal layers, formed by flip-flops (4, 5) arranged in the feeder lines of the conducting layers, with a common dimmer-IC preceding the reset inlets (R) and synchronized in a frequency dependent manner, wherein the flip-flops (4, 5) are timed synchronously, so that their preparatory inlets (4/5, 5/9) are actuated with a phase shift of 180.degree. and the clocking inlets (4/3, 5/11) are timed with the double frequency of the preparatory inlets (4/5, 5/9). The timing means consists of an oscillator (10a) and a decoupling gate (10b), the outlets of which are connected with a frequency divider, each (8, 9) preceding the dimmer-IC (7) and the flip-flops (4, 5), of which the frequency divider (9) preceding the flip-flops (4, 5) serves as an alternator, the inverted outlets (9/1, 9/2) of which are connected with a preparatory inlet (4/5, 3/9) of the flip-flops (4, 5).

  • Patent number: 4676770
Abstract: A pneumatic discharge apparatus for a stripping centrifuge that has a stripping blade mounted on the stripper head and extending over the entire width of the drum. A filler body is further arranged in the stripper head, which affects the conveying flow through the stripper head so that the material being stripped is prevented from settling in a critical material settling area. Because the stripping blade extends over the entire width of the drum and the filler body is arranged in the stripper head, the discharge capacity of the pneumatic discharge apparatus is very high, and the sealing problems usually arising in vertical stripper centrifuges are largely eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4674396
Abstract: A loading device with a rammer, arranged for coupling with ammunition bases, exhibiting a transport and coupling segment. The coupling segment exhibits a plurality of grippers with claws adapted to engage an undercut base of ammunition. The bearing member for the grippers is movable with respect to the transport segment with a first limit position, corresponding to the maximum distance of the bearing member from the transport segment. The bearing member has a stop element for fixing the position of the bearing member relative to the ammunition base. After the rammer is moved against the base the transport segment is moved toward the coupling segment. The grippers are moved out of their rest positions assumed by the action of a resetting mechanism, and into their gripping positions against the edge of the base of the ammunition by an actuating member.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method for installing a converter bottom, using not only bottom bricks of commercial brick formats but also shaped and fitting bricks, the largest area on a bottom plate being lined with bottom bricks of commercial brick formats, leaving a space free. After the bottom has been inserted into the converter, shaped bricks are laid one beside the other in the free edge area adjacent to the converter walling, the sides of these bricks facing the converter walling being fitted to the curvature of the converter walling. These shaped bricks are of a size such that a free space exceeding one joint width remains between each shaped brick and the adjacent bottom brick. Fitting bricks true to dimensions are laid in these free spaces.

  • Patent number: 4662563
Abstract: A center pivot irrigation system with a controller for automatically starting and stopping the irrigation system based on the moisture level of the soil. A moisture level sensor is provided to detect the moisture level of the soil in the field at the predetermined location. When the moisture level falls below a predetermined level, a center pivot irrigation cycle is initiated. At least one complete irrigation cycle will be completed regardless of the status of the moisture sensor. Once started, the irrigation arm will continue irrigating until it reaches a preset stopping location. If, when reaching that location, the moisture sensor is still calling for additional irrigation of the field, a stop override will prevent the irrigation arm from stopping at the preset location and the irrigation arm will continue irrigating at least until it reaches the preset stopping location again.
