  • Patent number: 4807995
Abstract: A bottle is moved over a sector of a circular path and simultaneously rotated around its longitudinal axis for the opto-electronic inspection of the mouth area for chipping of the glass. The bottle is guided through the beam path of a measuring apparatus on its way over the circular path. A measuring beam passes at an oblique angle to the longitudinal axis of the bottle in the area of the mouth opening. The location dependent scanning signal generated by the measuring apparatus during each scan corresponding to every discrete angular position of the bottle displays a characteristic intensity modulation. The presence of a chip in the glass may be recognized in the scanning signal by the absence of the intensity maximum present at the location of a chip. The absence of the intensity maximum may be ascertained by measuring the distance between two adjacent intensity maxima and comparing the measured distance with a reference value.

  • Patent number: 4806854
Abstract: A circuit layout for continuous display of power consumption of an electric device includes a light emitting diode actuated by voltage pulses, the frequency whereof corresponds to the current draw of the electric device. It is possible to determine directly whether the instantaneous power consumption of the electric device, in particular a household device, is low or high in case of varying loads as the frequency of the voltage pulses and thus the flashing frequency are below the flicker limit resolvable by the human eye. The power consumption display can be manufactured in a highly cost effective manner and in a compact configuration, so that it may be placed in an electric outlet housing.

  • Patent number: 4795905
Abstract: A circuit layout operating in the current mode for an infrared room surveillance detector includes a high impedance operational amplifier connected directly to a pyroelement used as an infrared sensor. This results in a high sensitivity detector circuit with a low noise component in the detector output signal and maintaining a high impedance detector circuit. The detector circuit has a constant amplification over a relatively broad frequency range. The reaction resistor of the operational amplifier is chosen to have a high impedance, preferably in a range higher than 10.sup.11 Ohm. It is advantageous to take the reference voltage required for the evaluation of the detector output signal from the operational amplifier, so that aside from the simplified circuit layout, no further structural parts capable of increasing the interference sensitivity of the detector circuit are required.

  • Patent number: 4789997
Abstract: In a circuit arrangement for producing high voltages by means of a voltage multiplier with rectifiers and capacitors and fed from an alternating current source in which circuit arrangement, a low amplitude voltage lying at the high voltage level is produced by the ripple voltage across one or more of the component parts of the voltage multiplier, the average potential of which component part (s) does not differ substantially from the high voltage. In the case of an X-ray tube high voltage supply the total filament circuit may be approximately on the high cathode voltage and no severe requirements for insulation need to be fulfilled. The ripple voltage may be used to produce other small amplitude voltages lying at a high voltage level.

  • Patent number: 4785193
Abstract: An opto-electronic measuring bench for the automatic dimensional inspection of externally turned parts, where the test object is linearly illuminated and an image of two diametrically opposed contour points produced on two rows of photodiodes. The diameter of the shafts may be determined from the position of the images of the two contour points recognized as intensity jumps and the electrically determined distance of the two rows of diodes. The rows of diodes may be moved together with the light sources in the axial direction of the test object, in order to carry out diameter measurements over the entire axial length of the test object. The distance of the diode rows in the axial direction from a starting position is also determined electrically, so that length measurements of the test object are also possible.
