  • Patent number: 4745410
Abstract: A device for tow vehicles intended for maneuvering commercial aircraft, where the type of aircraft to be towed is identified and the turn-out angle between the longitudinal axes of the vehicle and the aircraft is determined and monitored during the towing process. The type of aircraft may be ascertained by measuring the width of the nose gear assembly. The turn-out angle can be calculated by measuring the relative distances between opposing sensors on the tow vehicle and the fuselage utilizing a characteristic hull shape of the particular type of aircraft.

  • Patent number: 4743424
Abstract: A nuclear reactor installation with a high temperture, gas cooled nuclear reactor supported in a cavity on a segmented bottom plate held by a centered point of fixation. The first heat exchangers of the primary circulation loop are arranged in the cavity around the nuclear reactor, with the associated first blowers being supported in first passages of the pressure vessel roof. The second heat exchanger for the removal of the decay heat are arranged similarly, with the associated second blowers located in passages of the pressure vessel bottom. The blowers are equipped with contactless magnetic bearings for the rotors. The drives of the core rods and the reflector rods are designed for a banking operation. Simultaneously, the side reflector is supported by means of radial supports on the thermal side shield elastically and secured against rotation. The measures described provide a simplified configuration without affecting safety.

  • Patent number: 4738613
Abstract: A injection molded part of thermoplastic material, in particular an information carrier disk, is produced by cutting and removal of a sprue part from the injection molded part. The sprue removal leaves an opening in the injection molded part. In order to obtain a clean and smooth opening surface with a fit diameter that is as accurate as possible, the sprue part is axially offset relative to the injection molded part so that the integral connection between these two parts extends only over a part of the opening. The diameter of the axially projecting part is equal to or larger than the diameter of the opening and the rest of the opening being produced by injection molding. The dimensions are advantageously chosen so that a parting edge inclined at an angle of 45.degree. to the plane of the opening is formed and that the injection molded part amounts to 70% and the part to be separated to 30% of the length of the open. The injection molded length of the opening may also be variable.

  • Patent number: 4735573
Abstract: Aligning device for a current carrying connector of protective gas bag impact installations having a helical conductor arranged with several concentric windings within a fixedly mounted housing surrounding a core. The core is fastened to a steering spindle and rotates with the steering wheel. A first end of the helical strip terminates in terminals associated with the housing. The second end terminals are associated with the core. The core is equipped with a bore and the housing with a locking recess. The housing and the core may be immobilized in relation to each other using locking means having a clip pin insertable into the bore of the core and a locking projection fitting into the locking recess. The locking means may exhibit a ring surrounding the steering spindle and resting on the core or a pot surrounding a steering spindle. The locking recess and locking projection have respective widths which allow a slight rotational clearance between the core and the housing.

  • Patent number: 4735670
Abstract: The disclosure concerns an identification card containing information such as name, account number, photograph of the card owner, etc. The card is protected by a superjacent printed security pattern, such as a guilloche, or other pattern which is difficult to imitate, or a homogeneous printed surface. The information is inscribed into the identification card material through the printed security pattern by a laser beam recorder. The energy of the laser and the colors of the printed security pattern are coordinated with each other in such a way that the laser light is not absorbed by the printed security pattern and the latter is not destroyed by the laser light.

  • Patent number: 4732410
Abstract: An identification card having information applied in the form of patterns, letters, numbers and/or images, formed by interruptions in the homogeneity of different colored layer areas arranged superjacently on the identification card. The colored information can be produced by selectively removing the color layers by means of a controlled laser beam or by blurring or other chemical reactions induced by said beam. Thus identification cards can be produced having a high standard of security in spite of the simplicity of their production.

  • Patent number: 4726517
Abstract: Process wherein air is continuously sucked and returned in a closed cycle, the moisture of the air being reduced down to a value lower than the saturation limit value. The treatment is carried out by means of a metal carbide, preferably calcium carbide and/or a substance capable of binding water by hydrolysis or hydration, for example sodium hydrophosphate or anhydrous sodium sulfate which may be contained when mixing both substances into a quantity up to 85% by weight, preferably 35 and 65% by weight, in the substance reacting with the condensed moisture. The plant is comprised of a system of conduits (1-5) containing suction nozzles and connected to a container (7, 8) intended to receive the material reacting with the air moisture and connected to the suction nozzle of a fan (6) to which is coupled a pressure line (1-5) surrounding the limited area and comprising discharge openings.

  • Patent number: 4726727
Abstract: The device comprises a body which is adapted to receive and hold the disabled vehicle tire. Wheels or other rolling devices enable the body to ride on a hard surface. A ramp is provided to enable to drive the disabled vehicle tire onto the body to rest thereon. Two braking systems are provided to prevent any movement of the body while mounting and dismounting the disabled vehicle tire onto and from the body. Finally, the body can be connected to the automobile by means of an attachment, such as a chain after having mounted the disabled tire onto the body. In this manner, the driver of the automobile will be able to drive his car while pulling the body while the disabled vehicle tire is carried by it.

  • Patent number: 4725400
Abstract: A nuclear reactor plant housed in a steel pressure vessel with a small high temperature reactor, together with a steam generator arranged over said reactor and with at least two circulating blowers connected in parallel with each other and following the steam generator in line and is provided with a decay heat removal system located in the primary loop. This system is arranged above the steam generator and a shut-off device is provided between the two component. The shut-off device, which may actuated both passively--by difference pressure--and actively, by means of a drive, is designed so that in normal operation no hot gas may enter the decay heat removal system. In the decay heat removal mode the hot gas is conducted into the decay heat removal system and the steam generator is closed off the hot gas. Simultaneously, the cold gas coming from the decay heat removal system is returned through the steam generator or a gas conduit parallel to it, to the reactor core.

  • Patent number: 4715806
Abstract: A sprue part is cut and removed from the injection mold part during the manufacture of information storage disks by an injection molding process. The highly sensitive molding of an information storage disk is protected from damage by the sprue and the deposition of dust particles during stripping by this process. The sprue is punched into a part serving as the die of the injection molding tool and subsequently removed, in particular by suction, through an orifice leading from inside the part, together with the dust particles generated in the punching process. Preferably, the sprue is punched out and removed with the injection molding tool closed. The injection molding tool must be opened only after the sprue and the dust have already been removed, thus ensuring that the molded product has an especially good quality.
