Abstract: A loin puller for processing a carcass-half comprising a loin and a flank partially separated by cutting, the loin comprising a layer fat to be trimmed off. The machine has a frame which is fixed an elongated rectilinear working surface intended to receive and support the loin of the carcass-half to be processed. A conveying system is mounted onto the frame above the working surface for engaging and pressing the loin and moving it together with the flank connected thereto up to a cutting zone. An arcuate cutting blade is mounted to the frame in the cutting zone for engaging the loin when the frame is moved by the conveying system and for cutting the layer fat to be trimmed off the same. Advantageously, the frame is devised to let the flank fall down from the working surface while the carcass-half is moved by the conveying system. As a result, more visibility is left for evaluating an optimum position for the cutting blade.

Abstract: A device for the purification of polluted water, especially adapted to remove therefrom organic pollutants. The device makes use of a reactor wherein the polluted water is subjected to the combined action of an ozone containing gas in the presence of an oxidation reaction catalyst that is produced in situ by electrolysis. A method of use of this device is also disclosed.
Abstract: Disclosed is a manually-operated garlic grater which is very easy to use and very efficient to grate cloves of garlic. This garlic grater has a casing defining a tubular cavity having a lateral opening. A handle is removably mounted in a rotatable manner onto the casing on top of one end of the tubular cavity. A hollow grating drum is rigidly connected to the handle so as to be rotated therewith. This drum extends within the tubular cavity when the handle is mounted onto the casing and has a cylindrical wall which extends at a short distance away from the inner wall of the tubular cavity. The handle and hollow grating drum altogether form one piece. A base is removably mounted onto the casing on top of the other ends of the tubular cavity. A wiper is rigidly connected to the base. This wiper extending radially within the drum when the base is mounted on the casing and bearing against the cylindrical wall of the drum to wipe the cylindrical wall when the drum is rotated.

Abstract: A connector for tying together opposed foam panels in spaced and parallel relationship makes a form for receiving flowable material. The connector comprises a pair of anchor members, one being devised to be embedded in one of the foam panels and the other being devised to be embedded in the other one of the foam panels. Each of these anchor members has a projecting end devised to come out of the foam panel once the anchor member is embedded therein. The connector further comprises a web member extending between the foam panels. The web member has opposite longitudinal side ends, each of the side ends being hingedly connectable to the projecting end of either one of the anchor members. Thanks to such a connector, the tied foam panels of the form wall assembly are movable between an extended position where the foam panels are spaced-apart to make the form and a collapsed position where the foam panels are brought close to each other for transportation purposes.
Abstract: An orthopedic apparatus for rehabilitation or healing of a knee or the muscles of a leg. The apparatus has a dynamic adjustment mechanism allowing the execution of exercise of different degrees of tension without running the risk of injuring the knee by applying unnecessary or excessive amount of tension on the knee. The dynamic adjustment mechanism is designed to keep the eccentricity of the rotational axes of the leg support member and the leg nil. The orthopedic apparatus may also include a resistance or assistance mechanism for adjusting different degrees of tension during extension and flexion of the leg in order to gain either range of movement or strength. This specially designed mechanism provides a linear type resistance or assistance, which is invariable during the whole range of movement. This particular resistance, applied on the plantar foot, reproduces normal bio-mechanical stress on the lower limb.
Abstract: The surgical extractor has three distinct portions respectively called “body”, “gripper” and “pusher”. The body is rigid and rectilinear and has a first end from which an handle integrally projects perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis. The gripper consists of one or more flexible rods having first ends connected to the opposite end of the body in a foldable manner with respect to a transverse axis. The pusher is rigid and rectilinear and has a first end connected to the opposite ends of the straps and a second end provided with a pushing button. Hooks are provided for retaining in a slidable manner the pusher on top of the first end of the body opposite to the handle once the straps have been folded about the transverse axis in order to be positioned together with a pusher flat onto the body.
Abstract: A process and a device for the treatment of water, especially for removing therefrom a large variety of pollutants, especially organic, inorganic and biological pollutants through in situ generation of ozone. Ozone is economically produced in situ at a high concentration through the interaction of electrolytically produced oxygen and UV light having a wavelength of 189 nm. The device has a set of anode and cathode for electrolytically producing nascent oxygen which reacts with UV light at a wavelength of 189 nm to produce ozone “in situ” within a vessel where the polluted water is submitted to the combinative action of ozone and other oxidation reactions. The device also has a hydrocyclone or retention tank of removing cationic pollutants such as heavy metals, free radicals as well as undesirable electrolysis byproducts such as nascent hydrogen through a secondary outlet.
